Why don't we make a ferry line boat(s) that continuousley moves around San Andreas stopping at each station/dock? We can make 2 or 3 ferrys revolve around continuously so you don't have to wait for 1 ferry to come all the way around the map. The ferry is going to have to go at a good speed so you don't fly off when it moves, which is probably normal car speed. They don't have to stop at the docks/terminals that came with the game, we can make some docks/terminals for the ferrys to stop at. I don't know if we should make the boats hijackable, or non-hijackable, but I think non-highjackable would be the best, so the ferryline traffic doesn't lose its pattern and so on. The boat should have 2 or more floors and we need to make it look interesting. I'm very good at designing textures and logos, so I could work on that. PLEASE let me know what you think or any ideas you have, and I'd really appreciate if you'd like to help me out. Thanks Rob P.S: Sorry about the flooding I didn't know I was posting so many times! You could take a loot at Cortez Boat from Vice City, that's a really big one... If read somewhere that you need around 15 Minutes by car to go round whole San Andreas. By Boat you'll even more, so let's say 18 Mins. That would mean you could have to wait around 6 Minutes with 3 ferries. So I would say we need more of them... oh and we definitly need peds on the ferries. Yes you are absolutley right about the number of boats. I think we should add at the minimum of 4 or 5 boats, and the maximum of 6. Great idea with the peds! We might me able to use the bus stop script to get the people aboard. (The script when people wait at the bus stop and people go aboard the bus), or we can just find a way to have them walk onto the boat. Oh yes and one last thing, I was thinking of replacing a boat like the tropic so we don't have to go through the trouble of adding a boat. And the driver must be inside a locked room so it is not hijacked, unless we find a way to keep the same number of boats when 1 is hijacked. Thank you so much for voulenteering! If your point is ok, just add it to the list and at the end save the list to an txt-file. This file upload it somewhere or send it to me, so i'll use your coordinates (and will fix them, if some are too far away or whatever. We're going to have to find the right boat, unless one of those two are good... A cool idea I thought of is if you can make a radio station play while you're on the ferry (you're obviously not going to be able to change the station) And by the way, I like your program, but I think you have some flaws in it. You should have made Undo, Redo, Zoom In, and Zoom out features, which would have made it 10 times better. You should also add markers for the docks. Also curved lines would help. --- I just finished marking the points of the track, but I had to cram in some of the lines, so you're going to have to fix that around. I'm going to post the coordinates here and I'm going to upload it to rapidshare. --- One last thing, do you have an AIM screen name? It would be easier to talk back and forth that way to get things done quicker. supermodtastic Posted March 9, 2007 Author Share Posted March 9, 2007 UPDATE: Just for the people that want to know about the progress of the boat, we haven't started the model yet, but we almost have the path of the boat finished. It just needs a little touching up and we should be finished working on the path. The only other two things we need to be working on is the model of the ferry and the things we're going to put in it like the slot machines and the mini-restaurants. The only thing I really did was create the path of the boat and WordsBG is doing the rest, but still I think this mod will be a very big hit! Now is the time to make the model of tne ferry, but neither of us know how to use 3D modeling programs really well. We are now trying to find someone to help us with the modeling of the ferry boat. Heres what I want it to look like I would want it to look like that but a bit bigger, and on each side, have cuts on the railing for about 4 to 5 people to walk onto the boat through. The cuts in the rail should be parallel to each other. We also need terminals for each boat to stop at, and the boat needs to be the exact height as the terminal so you can walk on and off easily. Just the version with the tropic, we dont have the model yet, but that doesn' matter in the BETA. It's your choice, we can keep it to ourselves until we're finished, or we can release a BETA.
