Zom-B
It can't be changed i don't think, no matter how good your computer is, the PC version will always have blocky textures. Which is strange because the actual skin is smooth but the game displays it badly. Looks great on PS2 & Xbox but not PC for whatever reason. Claude GTA3
ya,i used to own an alpha version of GTA3 for PS2 (Claude has a weird face, like playerx) and it was smooth...
stef_92
Resize the Claude's texture from 256x256 to 512x512 (with billinear or S-Spline filtering) and everything will be OK ! Just in the PC version the players texture resizes withowt filtering (just with pixel resizing) and there's no matter how fast is your PC!

ThunderPower
Use S-Spline filter IrfanView does not have an S-Spline filter. I can use the Lanczos filter.

ms.cooldude
These S-Spline etc filters, are they in Photoshop or in GTA3? Its like the nvidea geforce way of saying "Anisotropic filtering" with options 2x, 4x 8x and for the new cards, 16x
Zom-B
Uhuh.. well i just resized my skin in photoshop to 512x, looks much better in game now I've got a GeForce 6600, but don't know if it uses Anti aliasing or Filtering in GTA3.
ms.cooldude
I've got a GeForce 6600, but don't know if it uses Anti aliasing or Filtering in GTA3. Its not automaticly put on. You'll have to enable it from the nvidea bar depending on how smooth your game is and by me looking at your card looks like that you can. But after you finshed playing make sure to turn it back to the default settings.
Zom-B
As far as i know it's set to application controlled. Think i'll leave it that way, the only problem i get ingame is for the first 5 or so minutes of playing things don't load properly unless i hang around for a while. Shop fronts for example will stay as their bad texture, "Lod" version or whatever for a while and some roads will appear as blue hell. Doesn't bother me though, it wears off. Just to let you know that "Application Controlled" means that the option will only go on if the ".exe" has the Anti aliasing or Filtering option in the options menu and is turned on as most games these days do have the options like GTA San Andreas for example. Zom-B
I know that, thing is my PC can't run San Andreas very well at all, even though System Requirements labs says i have the recommended hardware. I'm happy with GTA3.
