Sig Re-Enable Request Thread.

Could you re-up my Sig? Its now a tinny Sig. Thanks.

My Sig has been disabled. When I created my new Sig (yesterday), there were NO red marks in the frame. Today (after I discovered mine was disabled) it has about a 2 pixel (tiny) red on height that wasn't there yesterday.

 

I have checked the .gif file I am using and verified that it is 500x150 (which I have done before w/no prob).

 

I suppose that I could reduce the file to a height of 148px, but I thought as long as it was 500px X 150px and under, it was fine.

 

I also checked to see if I accidentally hit enter after the code for my graphic, pushing it beyond the limits, but that is not the case either.

 

Any ideas why the Sig requirement screen shows that 2 pixel difference, even though my graphic is the right size?

 

It's just kinda strange...

Your sig breaks this rule :-

 

 

2. The cumulative filesize of all the images in your signature must not exceed 80 kb's.

 

The signature you currently have is 440k which is 360k over the maximum file size allowed. So whilst it is the right height and length it is still too large file size wise and was disabled.

At first I thought "if the image is hosted elsewhere, then what does the files size matter?"

 

Then my common sense jumped in and said "cuz what if every person had a 1/2 meg Sig? How long would it take to load some og those threads with 20 posts on a single page?"

 

Duh.

 

My Sig is now 46.4k. Again, my apologies for not paying attention to the guidelines.

 

Can I get it enabled again?

I don't understand why my signature was disabled? It has been used by others in the Yardies and the size was fine, do I have to remove the writing in order for it to be ok? Because there is no red in the outside box? Thanks.

On the Connection skin, I get this:

 

 

I've heard of some browsers and some skins just not playing nice with each other, resulting in the format of some signatures to be larger in places. Are you sure you haven't got a red line at all where I have?

Yes, 100%. Not even the tiny pixel lines you sometimes get. On my skin (the default one) the fre butt sechs text remains all on one line. Should I shorten it or what?

I'm using the default skin, and it's doing the same thing on mine as in MK's screencap.

 

Then again, it could be a browser issue.

 

Ed: Actually, there's only one word, 'sechs', on the second line of mine.

Perhaps my use of Firefox could be to blame? I'll shorten that bit, remove the YOU'RE NEEDED! part and then hopefully it will be ok.

Hey! This is a Pre-emptive strike, so to speak...lol

 

I was working on my Sig and was trying to 'center' the text links under the Graphic ONLY. When I look at it on the Sig Edit Page, the preview (with the green frame) is perfect.

 

Unfortunately, as you can see below, once in an actual thread, the text links center on the page NOT under the graphic I used.

 

My Q is, since my graphic is left justified and my text links are center justified, will the difference get my Sig disabled?

 

I don't mind it the way it is now (kinda like it, actually) but will left justify the text links as well (just doesn't fit quite right visually to me is all) to fix it if I must.

 

Please advise.

yeah because the height rules are strick, there must be no red in the border and you can clearly see with your sig there is red on the border. I will give you a chance to change it before i get all draconian and throw the rule book at you

That's too big dude. The max is 500x150. Check for the red lines.
