Do you Load?

Recommended Posts

When you're in a mission and get wasted, (or whenever you get busted or wasted) do you just load then? Or do you go to the hospital/police department and start the mission again? (which in many cases involves a trip to Ammu-Nation as well)

Before I used to just load, but now I try to save as much as I can, except really frustrating missions like 'Kingdom Come'

It does screw up the stats too...

What do you do? tounge.gif

If I'm dating the girls that let me get out of the hospital and jail for free and with the guns, then I don't really bother saving/reloading. Otherwise, I just reload the thing back, and because of that I make sure I saved the game before I go do some mission.

If I get busted or wasted I always reload the game, I can keep my weapons after that, but I am doing it to have better stats.

Times busted: 0

Number of hospital visits: 0

And I want to keep it that way, although it doesn't happen often, but sometimes I get busted or wasted so I save regulary.

at the beginning when i didnt have any guns i went to hospital, but then i got some arms and started to load. though i did police missions and they dont take your weapons away its still faster just to reload the game rather than continue

I load when my PS2 shuts off for no reason. Seriously, if you even nudge it, it will disconnect and lose power. cryani.gif Then...(sob)my...(sob)game is...(breaks down crying for a few minutes)lost...(sniff) sad.gif I save whenever I feel like I've acomplished alot in the game and I will come back to the game later.

I usually always save after each mission. Therefore, if I die during the next mission, or just fooling around, I usually reload (but if I finish that missions first then die, it depends on how hard the mission was). However, sometimes I forget to save and just start the next mission. If I die during that, I probably won't reload. All in all, though, I don't care about the stats. It's usually the weapons I care about.

Some people might have the habit of re-loading after failing missions, so here's just a small warning, concerning the final mission. Could be a bit of a spoiler though; so there you have it:

In the mission 'End of the Line', if you can't manage to follow the firetruck and catch Sweet, and find it a huge frustration to do Smoke's stronghold all over again, just save after failing the mission. When you re-start the mission by walking into the red circle in front of Sweet's house, it begins from the chase.

For my habit of always re-loading, when I played SA the first time, I had to do the crack-palace over and over and over since I just couldn't catch Sweet falling off the firetruck.

They might be everywhere, but for several missions you need loads of ammo, and you won't get that by going to the hospital or jail too often.

If you do Vigilante on motorcycle it takes a lot of ammo. Other than that, I', having a hard time thinking of a mission that can't be done if you start with 2 or 3 desert eagles. Refresh my mind, as I'm surely forgetting something.

Cheers for that, never knew that, I usually always fail at that part (The chase that is) lol.

Another hint about 'end of the line'

The white convertible we get to drive while following the firetruck seems to be 'everything-proof'. I'm not 100% sure, because I haven't done a thorough test, but some severe bumping and crashing and Ballas-fire did not seem even to make a dent.

So if you like, you could just return home rather than follow Sweet, park the car in your garage, and start the mission over. Heck, this could yield an infinite number of everything-proof cars.

Actually, I saved after failing End of the Line because I noticed the peculiarity about the car. (Previously, I thought it was the molotovs etc. the Vagos were throwing at the car that were ineffective.)

Remember the mission "You've had your chips", from Woozie in LV? You had to shoot loads of people with shotguns, pistols, rifles and submachine guns. That mission is always a pain in the ass, and I always waste lots of ammo, health and shield during it, that is, IF I get out alive.

Or "Home in the hills". You also have to gun down several people with good weapons.

These were just some examples, there are lots of other missions like that.

Yeah, those are tough ones, but I'm always dating Barbara and Katie at that point. Once San Fierro is open, there's no need to re-load when you die, and once Las Venturas is open, there's no need to re-load when busted.

I was thinking along the lines of missions that require a lot of weapons before the point in time when the girlfriends can save your ass.
