Firefox 2.0.0.2 update % imageshack problems

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone.

I just updated to FF 2.0.0.2, and now the ImageShack toolbar doesn't work.

Does anyone know if there is a way to get it to work? (It's only supported thru 2.0.0.1).

If not, I'll just rollback, i guess, but I can't figure out how.

help please?

EDIT: Nevermind. I found the FF 2.0.0.1 install that I had downloaded, so I switched back to that one; it works fine now.

If anyone needs it/couldn't get it on the Mozilla website, PM me/post here.

In the future you could try this extension. It adds a "Make all compatible" button to the Add-ons dialog.

I use it on just about every upgrade rather than going without any extensions while waiting for them to be updated. I actually use a few "dead" extensions that haven't been updated since before 1.5, and since the people who made them don't plan on ever updating them again, the extension above is a lifesaver.

Thanks Sweets!

That shows promise, but two things came up:

1) Imageshack already updated the toolbar, and FF updated itself, but now it works fine.

2) I also wanted to get this to work with an old theme that I had, but it won't work. It won't let me install it, because it's not compatible. Is there a way to manually install it? (Here is the theme, btw)

I still had it in my themes list until like a week ago, but I uninstalled it. I didn't use it because even though you can make FF let you choose it, it wasn't made for this version. When forcing themes to work you get some problems, like some dialogs might not look right at all, and even just the regular layout is off since it was made for a different version.

If you really want it (and assuming you installed that extension) you can click

Tools > Add-ons

Then on the extensions tab find the Nightly tester tools extension, click options, select the add-ons tab, then check "disable add-on compaibility checking." Then it should install with no problem since it won't check to see if it's compatible, once it has been installed you can make it compatible by hitting the "make compatible" button on the themes list.

You could also try this. It's missing some things (like the statusbar, menu colors, and the scrollbar) but the main layout seems to be a bit better. To be honest though, neither of them look that good. Hopefully someone will get around to remaking the original for FF2.

Thanks Sweets!

I'll see how it works when I restart firefox. By the way, I'm using that silver theme right now, but the thing that bugs me the most about it is that you can hardly tell which tab is focused and which aren't.

Oh yeah; is there a way to restart firefox manually? (Keeping all the tabs open, etc. I know it does that after you install something, but...)
