San Andreas 'Desert' missions

Basically, having a hard time accessing the flying school which I can only seemingly get access to through the Toreno missions.

 

I started the game again (that's dedication for you) just to see if there was something I missed or did wrong. But, upon reaching more or less the same point again there is nothing that leads me into the Toreno missions and I need that flying school to advance.

 

If I try to access the desert (all highways are road blocked) I get four stars of heat, so obviously I have to do something first to gain that access.

 

Please advise if possible.

the nature of your question is such that the answer would mostly consist of spoilers...so i'm not using them spoiler tags...

 

to access the Toreno strand, you'll have to complete "Yay Ka Boom Boom", which starts from the Doherty garage, and "The Da Nang Thang" from Wu Zi Mu...once these are finished, you should get a call from an unknown person giving you access to the Desert area...if you've completed these missions, and still haven't received the calls, your save mightbe glitched...you could try uploading it for someone to download and check...

 

also, please make sure that you post in the correct forum the next time...this would've been better placed in the SA Troubleshooting, SA PC Chat, or the SA Gameplay sections...i'll request a move
