Mizkaa
First, you have to reinstall your SA, if you haven't done that. But, I bought Windows Vista 2 weeks ago, and SA did run somehow on it when I first tried it. The only thing that didn't work was my old save games made on Windows XP. Here is what I had to do, doing these should also get your SA working: First, go to Control Panel. Then go to User Accounts, when the window opens, there should be 6 selections, like Change your account type, etc. Press the one on the bottom and disable user accounts monitoring. Then it gives you some warnings, but don't pay attention on them. Now if you have Aero-effect enabled (glass effect) you have to disable it. Here is quide to do that: 1. Right-Click on a blank area of desktop 2. Select Personalize from the context menu 3. Click Window Color and Appearance Option 4. Here you can check if you want to Enable Transparency or not. 5. You can also disable the whole aero glass theme from here. Just click the Open classic appearance properties for more color options link. 6. Select a non-Aero theme and click OK. Now you should be able to play San Andreas as you were playing it on Windows XP, nice and smooth. Good luck! and sorry for my bad english at some points, some of the folder names might not be correct compared to the English version of Vista (mine is Finnish) but try to improvise and find the correct ones. digitalsi
Hi, I have a similar problem. It installs OK, but when I try and run the game, it comes up with an error message saying: "Please remove disc from DVD drive and insert the original disc in another drive ?:.." This happens whether I click on the shortcut (as administrator) or the "Play GTA: San Andreas" link in the autoplay pop up when I insert the DVD. I have tried it in all the compatibility modes, but it makes no difference. It does successfully switch from Aero to Basic mode before the message appears, then switches back again afterwards so that is not affecting it. I am running Vista Home Premium 64Bit, with all the latest updates and drivers installed. Any ideas anyone? Many thanks, Si.
Claude GTA3
digitalsi, put the disc you installed SA on,the go to My Computer, then right click the one with the SA icon and choose open, you should see a folder named Hoodlum, open it.inside you should see three icons, choose the one called gta_sa,copy it,then go to your C/: or whatever you type it,find Program Files, open it,the find rockstar games, open it,the open your SA folder, and paste it there. It will ask you to replace the one called gta_sa with the one from Hoodlum, and just click yes, that should do the trick
