I would like to know how to create dummies of light, i'm trying to create a new lamp post and i can import the model into the game, but ¡'m not able to put a light in it. Can anyone help me? By the way, I use Zmodeler 1.07 to build models and 3ds Max 6 to make models compatible with the game. Thanks. alex57557
Thanks for your help DexX, but I still have the same problem. I follow the instructions of the readme, step by step, but when I start playing and get near to the model with the light, the game crashes and goes to the desktop . I don´t know what I'm doing wrong, I tryed to export the model from 3ds Max in two ways: In the first, I only export the model and not the light, doing that and after that process of the rwanalyze, the game doesn´t crash, but the light doesn´t appear. In the second way, I select and export both, the model and the light, and after that rwanalyze thing and starting the game, when I get near to the model it happends what i've said before. Any ideas?? Thanks for your time.

DexX
Thanks for your help DexX, but I still have the same problem. I follow the instructions of the readme, step by step, but when I start playing and get near to the model with the light, the game crashes and goes to the desktop . i think i'm confused about what the real problem is here; the above seems to indicate a problem with the model itself. but then i read this... In the first, I only export the model and not the light, doing that and after that process of the rwanalyze, the game doesn´t crash, but the light doesn´t appear. In the second way, I select and export both, the model and the light, and after that rwanalyze thing and starting the game, when I get near to the model it happends what i've said before. ..and it seems to indicate an altogether different problem. Here's what i suggest: get your model working, perfectly, before even thinking about adding lights to it. once its works just fine, then attempt to add lights as i describe in the directions. if the light you add makes the game crash, then i'll need to know exactly what settings the light(s) were (the SA settings i provide in the maxscript, not the 3dsmax settings), so i can replicate the issue myself. alex57557
Thank you DeXx. Look, I discovered one thing, maybe is the cause of the crashes. In the readme puts: "In the list that appears, scroll to the bottom, and choose section type "0x253F2F8", and press ok", but the only section type I see is a "0x253F2FE" one, is a failure of the program or its wrong in the readme?? I put the model without lights in the game and it works perfectly, in every distance. On the other hand, I would like to ask if it is posible that someone (who has time ) makes a explaining simple video to avoid problems with those ***** lights. Thank you. AK-73
2 weeks with no answers.... wth is this?? I think dexx might be a bit busy at the moment. I have no experience in SA modding, however you might provisionally try this until Dexx has the time to reply: open a .dff with a working light in rwanalyze, export the section and import it over your section in your .dff. You can do this only if both sections *have the same size* though. Opening an in-game model will also tell you which ID is the correct one (as working dffs will have the correct ID for lights, no?) anyway. So you might just want to set the id to that value and see if that works for you. Alex

DexX
i actually did make a video tutorial, but i won't be able to upload it until next week. In the readme puts: "In the list that appears, scroll to the bottom, and choose section type "0x253F2F8", and press ok", but the only section type I see is a "0x253F2FE" one, is a failure of the program or its wrong in the readme?? the readme is correct. remember, this is a section of data that you are adding by hand. if your dropdown list doesn't contain the sections show in this image, i would try re-installing renderware analyze. The section id, the number on the left side of the list, is whats important. the text at the right is just a label, and i've changed some of my labels. alex57557
Hello! After some weeks I've found out what's the problem. The rwanalyze copy I downloaded has not the "(0x253F2F8) GTA Light" one, the game crashes because I use that "(0x253F2FE) Frame" one to import the section data, that's all. Please, can anybody put a link where find a correct version of the rwanalyze, or maybe upload a copy of his "goodrunning" program and put the link to download it?? By the way, the page I downloaded the rwanalyze from is steve-m's. Thanks for your time. Edited April 6, 2007 by alex57557
