On Tuesday night I was watching Goodfellas and along came the "you think I'm funny" scene with Joe Pesci and I said to myself, "that has got to be one of the best scenes in any movie I've seen".

So here I am, wondering what are some of you favourite movie moments and why? It can be funny, sad, gory, whatever....

Just realised theres a movie forum blush.gif . Sorry, but its been a while since I've been here so I'd be very greatful if someone could move this topic. biggrin.gif

i like lots of different parts from lots of different movies. The sadest part i've seen in a movie however is when Borat almost kills the chicken. I was nearly in tears sad.gif

Off the top of my head I have 3 favourite movie moments:

1. When Alan grant sees all the dinosaurs for the first time in the drinking at the lake in herds In Jurassic Park, the music just gives me goosebumps.

2. In Star Wars Episode IV, when Luke looks out over the Dune Sea and upon the Twin Suns, again the music is excellent here.

3. A lot of moments from both Pirates of the Caribbean movies, can't pick a favourite, probably when Barbossa returns at the end of Dead Man's Chest, atmosphere is awesome.

In before "Dur I like the scarface shootout"

Anyways, I like the Goodfellas scene where Ray Liotta beats up the guy who sexually assaulted Lorraine Bracco with that small revolver. I watched Goodfellas 63 times, great f*cking movie.

YOU TOUCH HER AGAIN, AND YOU'RE DEAD!

In Apocalypse Now:

-The opening scene

-When the boat arrives at the Do Lung bridge. It's such a trippy scene.

-When they arrive to the Kurtz' compound, and the whole tribe is looking at them.

Also, the final scene in Aguirre, the Wrath of God, the opening scene in The Last of the Mohicans, and in Stalker, the whole part in which the three men are in the zone.

So many bits it's hard to pick a favourite of all time:

Reservoir Dogs: when he chops off the cops ear

Pulp Fiction: Jules in the apartment "Say what, I dare you, I double dare you mofo"

Platoon: When the guy (the one from Spiderman) gets shot the crap out of

Donnie Darko: When Donnie is with Frank (throughout)

Me too. sad.gif That was sad.

Also in Titanic the whole film is sad, because they think they're going to get to USA but won't. sad.gif

I'd forgotten about that moment. That was done so well my mouth was just on the floor. It's just the way that woman managed to raise everyones spirits after their 'loss' and then slaps them in the face with a cold fish with his return. And his line and the wya he crunches into the apple and just smilies as the awesome POTC music starts playing the background and everyone in the cinema is like...

OH MY GOD!

They expect more but it ends!

It was built up so well.

That's my fav moment now that it's been mentioned. Also when Sparrow jumps into the Krakon. That was amazing

Yeah thats another awesome moment, it's so inspirational they way he just accepts it's his time and charges down the throat of the Kraken.

Cannot wait for At World's End.

Few of them:

1. When Richard Gere climbs up fire-escape ladders to meet with Julia Roberts in "Pretty Woman"

2. When USS Enterprise 1701-D (saucer section) crashes on planet called Veridian III in "StarTrek Generations"

3. When Patrick Swayze leaves this world (and Demi Moore) in "Ghost"

4. When Mr. Bean got arrested in "Mr. Bean, the ultimate disaster movie"

I would like to second Platoon's scene where Elias is shot and raises his arms. I really like that music now (Adagio for Strings)

There's a fair few more but I can't think of my very favourites at the moment.

-When they arrive to the Kurtz' compound, and the whole tribe is looking at them.

That plus the beach invasion while playing 'Ride of the Valkyries' from the speakers and the scene where Willard kills Kurtz.

Other mentionables:

The "Now I have a machine gun. Ho ho ho." part in Die Hard.

The part in Ichi the Killer where Kakihara hangs Suzuki from those hooks and interrogates him.

The end of the lighthouse scene of Battle Royale.

The final fight between Bruce and Han, and the cave fight from Enter the Dragon (lol, Jackie Chan cameo).

The final fights from Fist of Fury.

The fight between Vader and Obi Wan at the end of Star Wars Episode III. Very dramatic.

The shootout at the end of John Woo's The Killer.

The Stonehenge scene from Spinal Tap.

The beginning of Pulp Fiction.

The fight between Rocky and Ivan Drago at the end of Rocky IV (The whole montage scene that starts after the second round is great).

and last but not least

I would like to second Platoon's scene where Elias is shot and raises his arms. I really like that music now (Adagio for Strings)

In The Suicide Club after everyone jumps off the roof and the girl looks back and explains how they are the founding chapter of the suicide club. That was pretty intense.

I like the final scene in Training Day when Denzel Washington's character, Alonzo gets killed after the whole fight and shoot out with Jake Hoyt. Great scene, and it's where he gives his famous quote from the movie as well. Training Day is a great film.

Scarface, yeah Scarface, the scene where Tony Montana, Manny, and his other friend whose name I cannot remember are in Frank's office after an assassination attempt on Tony. Great scene, it shows the beginning of his "reign" if you will on South Florida in the movie.

I think I will come up with more later on because countless scene are coming to mind but in very little detail, so I'll post some more later.
