I have come to the conclusion that I'm just gonna have to get my self an Ibanez S series Prestige.. Immense guitar!

I <3 that finish on that Ibanez, i used to have a Epiphone Studio LP in that finish. I'm gunna go back to Peterborough Music and get a picture of that Roxanne tomorrow. I miss it already...

 

I was thinking about changing my string choice to Elixer strings... Do they really last as long as they say?

Yea the coating protects them from sweat erosion, coated strings do tend to feel a bit different though so I wouldn't go buying a pack for each of your guitars incase you don't like them. I recently changed from Ernie Balls to D'addario and they definately handle my acid sweat better.

I made the huge mistake of buying 10 sets of Roto-sound strings last summer, they sucked anus. I changed to Ernie Ball Super Slinky and i really like them... Im wondering if i should save up for a Dusk Tiger. I dunno. The easyness of everything on it kinda takes the soul out of guitar

I used the hybrids myself.

 

The dusk tiger certainly would be an interesting piece of kit to own but $4g? Not to cracked on the looks

but the built in tuner would be amazingly convenient!

Cool, I think the way to do it would be, some more experienced member could create a backing track for the contestants to jam over. The results are judged by a panel of judges ? ?

At the moment I'm using an old, battered, Squire strat with a generic no-name amp and overdrive pedal. That said, I can record fairly decent quality sound with my mic.

Also, if we go acoustic I have a classic kimbara, has a lovely warm tone that makes you want to stroke tits.

It's not the gear that counts mate, it's the talent Yeah i suppose we could do a acoustic round too.

Oooh if we're doing a 12 step blues shuffle I'll use my strat. I've finally managed to get a really nice thick warm sound from it.

Ampless now, happy days. I can however record directly into the soundcard but it doesn't quite sound right to me.

That's what your guitar actually sounds like, you're probably just used to the amp you had. I'd advise rolling off the volume a tad on your guitar. It should help it sound a bit cleaner.

 

When are we gonna get this thing underway anywho?
