Time we need to Bump this, My own Ironbird was partially disassembled to try and retrofit a Kahler Pro trem on the guitar, but I never got a winning bid on a black Kahler that I needed. As well the NJ series tuners needed to go. I had the electronics professionally re-wired, just wish I could locate the "Flyer" model chrome bridge it originally had on it, just so I could string it up again. Been so damn long!

About a week ago, I got myself a Peavey Vypyr. The bitch can scream pretty good for a 30W.

 

It was either a new amp, or an acoustic. I obviously chose the former and my friend ended up getting himself an acoustic: a $250 Ibanez. It was absolutely gorgeous. I'm very jealous considering how nice it is for being his first and him being a drummer.

On Coco Conan's last show, some one seemed to suggest his Les Paul was a custom, well, I doubt that.

 

On my no-name origin BC Rich Bich, the tuners it came with were all angled downward, yet two sets of screw holes for setting them. As well, two strap lock systems seemingly employed on the body, Never seen the in-set to the body variety before. I can get pics if you're not familiar with that style/system

Finally getting my Ibanez RG350DX serviced by an Ibanez dealer. It will be the first time in a long time one of my guitars has been professionally set up as the last few local shops I tried bollocked things up and I had to fix them myself afterwards. If he does a good job I'll send my Maverick F1 up to him. That guitar has been suffering with bad fret buzz for a long time and I just can't wait to get it sorted.

Les Pauls are back breakers but definately worth it.

 

I really don't know what I think of the Dean Cadillacs at all, I don't think I like the look of them but I'm really not sure

 

How did it play? Are they comparable with any other guitars?

My Dean was styled like the one Steve Clark plays in Def Leppard's Me and My Wine video. Steve had a custom with three humbuckers, and a Kahler Pro tremolo.

Mine had two and stop-tail piece. I liked it since day one. The Cars are seen playing the new Deans on the Midnight Special TV show as well. They've been remodeled since the new Dean re-emerged.

I doubt they are Gibsons if they are under 200 quid. If they are that's an insanely good price and you had better get a loan or something.

Having a long hard think about buying a Fender Squire John 5 Telecaster... Need a guitar to gig with, one that I can keep in drop D tuning to keep with my SG that I keep in standard. Anyone have any criticism of this guitar? Or anything i should know?

I haven't heard anything bad about them at all. They are seemingly pretty versatile according to the reviews I've read and demo's Ive seen, but then again I haven't played one personally.

See new selection of axes at Pawn America down the street. We have two Guitar Centers locally as well. In the pawn shop at about $640 or so, a Ibanez Joe Satriani edition guitar, has his plaque signature on the fretboard

I just picked up a ESP LTD Deluxe Viper 1000. Its made in Korea rather than Japan but It's

high quality. I like the SOB. Has active EMG 81/85 but I rather have the blackouts, so I probably switch.

Agreed, I have a nice Duncan Distortion in the bridge of my main guitar and it's great. Perfect metal tones and a good bluesy sound when I want. The whole EMG 81-85 combo isn't versatile enough.

If I could find where I dismounted my Kahler Flyer (to retrofit a Pro Tremolo), I'd restring my BC RICH IRONBIRD by now, all it needs is the trem and I misplaced the dang thing.

Good choice swapping out the Kahler, those things iffy tuning wise on the bends. It's nothing a quick dip on the trem won't fix but who wants to have to do that the whole time?

Ive got a Vintage SG Advance in the same finish, it wasn't worn when I got it, but its what I call, "loved" now

I went to my local guitar and amp center today to try out a few amps. I walked in the shop and they have just employed a new customer helper, she's kinda hot but thats irrelevant. So!! I walked in, said to her... "Hello, I would like to try out a few of your latest valve amps."

So! She leads me into the amp room, and she sits me infront of a Line 6 Spider IV. I looked at her and thought, "Bitch are you retarded? This isnt a valve amp!"

She plugs me into this Spider IV and im sitting there for half an hour trying to get a half decent sound out of this pile of sh*t.

 

Is it just me, or are Line 6 amps the worst amps available? They wanted £198.99 for this amp, I spent £80 on a Crate GLX212 combo, and compared to the Line 6, it kicks ass!

 

Also! Can anyone help me? During the summer this amp got pretty cosmetically beat-up due to a lot of giggin' and jammin'. Im thinking of getting some thin snakes skin floor lino and recovering it. Would there be any ill effect on the amp if I did this?

I went into another music store today, if anyone wants to know, it was Peterborough Music. They carry some of the nicest guitars I've ever seen. I fell in love with one today. It was a L.A.G Roxanne guitar, but I had never seen one in the finish that this was in, it was a matte powder blue. There where just 2 drawbacks... 1. The price: £989.99, and 2. it was a 3/4 size model

P.S another guitar that I'm tempted by is the Brian May Red Special guitar. It's actually quite cheap considering the L.A.G. £445.00
