Vanillainy
Ever since ive had my new Home Hubthing, MSN has ceased to work. I've tried re-installing/uninstalling, Older MSN versions, new ones. Etc, but it just won't work. When it tells me to put in my e-mail and password, i enter it. But when i type, nothing shows up for about a minute. It goes all slow on me. Then once i finally have managed to enter my details, i try to sign in and i get: "Signing into the Windows Messenger failed because the service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later Error Code: 800401f3" Ive tried pressing retry, repair, everything. Tried forwarding ports and everything. Anyone know how i can fix this? Much love if you can
*gta star*
I've had this error before mate, it usually occurs because so many people are on msn, or trying to sign into the service at once, so basically, a busy server. First thing I recommend is try and sign on at another time, if that doesn't work, create a new account. I was also told that MSN can stop working when you have too many contacts on your account, so by creating a new account, if there is anyone that you feel shouldn't be on it, don't add them because it could give you extra space for other contacts and it will allow MSN to function properly. Tell me how you get on mate. Regards. Your fellow Z man.
Vanillainy
Nope, ive tried other accounts, new accounts. Everything. My account works on the online messengers, but they are annoying.
Drowning
As soon as this happened to me I did a system restore for a day earlier as I have no idea how to fix it. In the mean time you'll have you use a web based messenger or try trillian.
omega_c
As mentioned above me, you could try Trillian It's a program that combines AIM, MSN, and a few others (I think) Or try Gaim, which can run AIM, ICQ, Gadu-Gadu, Groupwise, IRC, MSN, SILC, Yahoo, and (apparently) Napster (I really hope thats a chat program kinda connected to napster... I've never actually looked at this list before.)

Trillians Better than Gaim Anyways, Sounds like MSN f*cked up again, I mean the Messenger of course, anyways, You've Reinstalled, but did you try Windows Messenger that comes with XP? I shall have to try one. @Brutuz: Windows Messenger may as well be a DOS screen, it sucks. And it doesn't work.
TenaciousD.
Damn, that sucks. Could it be something to do with the connection? On my old PC only Firefox worked online, IE would never work despite being connected.
Vanillainy
meh, Trillian blows and Gaim crashed everytime i signed in. Im now using aMSN, which when skinned with the Live skin, may aswell be MSN. If slightly crappier. Edit: Now MSN has decided to work, the proper one. Thanks all anyway.
