K.. so people like me should stop helping people like Picolini finish some of his models... coz all I am is pretty much a converter.... but at least I'm adding to the releases that are emerging... what do you contribute Duders, other than hate? And then release it and I didn't want to make a deal out of the converting thing, but yeah, it is a stupid statement. Converting is a huge task, and if you are a new modder it helps you build your skills a lot. You learn how vehicles need to be set up, material settings. And as in NikT's case here, he's helping me finish up my mod which I wouldn't have done on my own. Converters aren't people that just steal others work and claim it as their own. It's hard work to do good quality conversion and most people are honest and give proper authors their credit while only taking credit for converting efforts, which is well deserved. And as for this place, you HAVE to have permission as well as have the proof which just shows the original author has verified the mod is worthy of being posted or they are at least nice enough to just let some one do it. They aren't a little cocky ass hat who goes around bitching about conversions as if they are worthless pieces of crap not worthy of being, and as NikT so nicely put it, just hate on them instead of doing anything else. Maybe if you got off your ass and released some sh*t people could take your upturned nose toward converting as something meaningful. Until then I would just tell you to get off your high horse and back off converters. Ya rat bastard /end rant... Timpo Posted February 22, 2007 Share Posted February 22, 2007 well, this are exactly the type of mods I did some time ago. at the moment I can still not make a scratch model, but I'm working on it. and I understand there's a lot of hate to the converters, but why? if he likes to make this as a mod, and release it, who are you to stop him? you don't HAVE to download it if you don't like.... Duders Posted February 23, 2007 Share Posted February 23, 2007 I used the wrong word. I meant simple gta edits like conversions from gta3 cars to sa or vcsalc cars, etc. I didn't mean converters. I am aware that many do a very good job of bringing cars in game. I just don't fancy a Blistacat or a vc sentinel with a body kit converted to SA. Timpo Posted February 23, 2007 Share Posted February 23, 2007 ok. but it's funny. here everyone is against converters, and say it isn't worth it and such, and in another topic here in the list, 2 people are converting cars from VC to SA with VCS skins (not even real converting, no refmaps and SA textures and such) and they get nothing but good comments..
