Goofy Exploit....

It needed an unpatched LCS UMD to run. DOes it work the same as the cheat device? Or is it a homebrew like dev hook? And also from when did the LCD went patched, because I bought mine in UK in December

What version is the upgrade that comes with your game? Under the start game button, you should see some text saying PSP Update ver x.xx

 

if it's 2.00 it's not patched, if it's 2.60 it is patched.

I'm not sure what you mean by this, the exploit in itself is just an exploit. If you mean how you start it, you start it the same way as the cheatdevice just that it now is in the save game slot 8, and therefore can only be loaded by auto load.

The patched version of LCS came out in June 2006, so you probably bought yours too late.

The Goofy exploit is my GTA savefile exploit resurrected by renaming the file from slot 0 to slot 8.

I tried and went to start then game but it says nothing about FW 2.00 or 2.6, and what exactly does the Goofy Exploit do?

I didn't explain very well. Here's a screenshot of what I meant;

 

I'm not completely sure about how the exploit works, though it exploits a flaw in the gta game which leads to a buffer overflow.

 

The exploit itself isn't of any use to non-hackers. But you can run 3 "applications" through it, hello world, a downgrader and HEN (an application which allows you to run homebrew from your XMB menu on 3.03).
