gamerzworld
Today I messed around with Audacity and the VCS theme song. I made some remixes. I know they are not that good but here they are. Remix 1 Remix 2 Want to try remixing the theme song? Here is what you need. 1. The VCS theme song! Download here 2. Audio editing software. I used Audacity since it's free and open source. Now with those two, you can remix the theme song. If you don't know what a remix is, it's to compose an alternate master of a song, adding or subtracting elements, or simply changing the equalization, dynamics, pitch, tempo, playing time, or almost any other aspect of the various musical components. Wikipedia Go ahead and try it!
RDK9390
lol good try...but as a music producer let me give you some advice first off, try to change the genre in a remix...personally, i would have made it sound hip hop...find a good loop, use a program such as fruityloops studio, and add drums to make the track sound completely like a remix.. then maybe add vocals, to make it complete...download an acapella of a rapper or singer and time it up with the beat i take it you don't have much producing experience so it was a good try i have to say...but another thing is audacity is not exactly made for really recreating a track... RDK9390
i guess you don't, but personally i really like to change up the song... heres a link to download a remix i did of the "vice city theme" (kind of), Kool & The Gang's "Summer Madness"...i added drums, changed pitches and tempos, and added vocals from Young Jeezy's "Icy"...I did this a while back but I still think it's decent...it was also the intro track to my Vice City remix album 'Ice City' (see sig) http://download.yousendit.com/FB980864081A2248

uzi 9mm
Your remix's sound a bit techno-ish, but they don't really sound bad, not much has really been changed though, as RDK9390 said, thanks for those tips by the way, I'm still trying to master Fruity Loops. Here's something I just made with it, I wanted to add some more sound to it but I can't get the right sound. I sped the beat up a bit to put a vocal on it, it's a UK rap vocal, and it mixed perfectly, I just didn't feel to add anything else, I ain't a producer or nothing, this would be the first time I mixed something for any purpose. http://www.sendspace.com/file/2exk28 Enjoy. I didn't do the full song though because I would have to extend to VCS theme and I can't be bothered it's late.

uzi 9mm
Yea thanks for your say, it doesn sound on the beat, I just quickly matched the tempo to the acapella and mixed it, I hadn't heard the VCS theme before so it was interesting. I will make some changes to it and try to do one for the LCS theme too, which is better.

uzi 9mm
Here's what I did with the LCS theme, I've extended it and put a vocal on it of Dizzee Rascal spitting. Took me ages to adjust the tempo and mix it in. I still don't think I got it dead on but it's good enough. http://www.sendspace.com/file/pqlffy
.:Alex:.
I'd love to listen to it but when I click the download link nothing happens!! It just comes up with pop ups and goes back to that page!
ybakker
@rdk9390. That's a good job on the summer madness. Too bad only the beginning rhodes riff was used... I'd love to hear the strings, gliding synth, and guitar on that... The best parts of the song uzi 9mm, I think that the LCS remix's rapping is a bit late. Just a small detail. uzi 9mm
Yea I know the timing's kind of off but it's nothing major, the vocal isstill roughly in the line with the beat.
Gantons Most Wanted
i think the LCS theme tune would be difficult to remix with a rapper or rappers on it but good job on it i've just remixed Dr Dre's Deep Cover and 2 Pac's All About U
uzi 9mm
Thanks. It did take quite a while to get the right speed to match it.
