Triamus
I was just modelling this car "because i cannot wait for the actual thing to come out and because the sketch is better than the model ingame" i decided to begin modelling it in zmodeler until I found out. UPSS only one wheel model per car! Is it possible that i have two different model sets for wheels for gta:sa?
Mercie
Yes. But then you have to provide all 4 wheels. Just link the model of each wheel under the wheel dummy. If that doenst work, look around for the right way, though it should.
Picolini
Looking good so far... And yes, you can even have 4 completely different wheels if you want. Here's the trick. Now, if you are familiar with SA car set up, you will know that the wheel model is linked under the wheel_rf_dummy (right front wheel dummy). This one is replicated and mirrored to go where the other wheel_xx_dummy's are placed. So the trick is to make the "wheel" object 100% transparent. You can even have just 1 polygon. Just place it the distance you want the smallest wheel to be from the axis (the radius), and make sure the axis is centered where you want it. Make sure that is named wheel, link it under wheel_rf_dummy as it should be. Now you need to just place the models of the wheels you want in their correct place, then link them under their proper wheel_xx_dummy. Make sure their axis is set to parent (offset to parent, once linked). This will ensure they are in the correct position once ingame. Name the wheels anything but an actual used objects name. I usually do something like wheelrb, wheellb... (for the right back, left back, left front, right front, etc) Here is a picture to give you a visual of what I'm talking about. If this doesn't explain it good enough I can make a simple z3d to post to give you an example to go by. But i'm pretty sure this should suffice. Stene
Nice to see you creating this, and this isn't actually coming to Ep2, sorry. It is early vehicle concept by Valve, the real vehicle is in gameplay videos.
Triamus
Now that everything works it seems that one front wheel is too thin.. Edited February 22, 2007 by Triamus
Mercie
Now that everything works it seems that one front wheel is too thin.. Exaggerate it in zmod. SA will scale it accordingly.
