Wayfarer
yea! Those dodge viper police cars are really cool I seriously hope you don't mean that Nissan tlc posted. Anyway, in Poland there are practically no high-speed chase copcars, like Lamborghinis in Italy or Porsches in Germany, because we have almost no highways, and the existing ones are full of holes. The other roads... But damn, you can go to Poland and see a different police car on almost every street. Ranging from old Polonez's: Through Fiat Siena/Albea station wagons: Even ranging to the full-size Volvos and the newest Mondeos: So yeah, it's hard to count how many car models Polish police actually uses. Kaj.
We have mostly all recent model Crown Vics for our police department, but we have a Dodge Magnum and a new Dodge Charger. It looks pretty cool.

tuff_luv_capo
Your a dick, plain and simple... If he would have said, "the dodge vipers...", instead of "Yea! Those dodge viper..." It would have made some sense. Then again, you don't care, you just want to overcomplicate a sarcastic volley with "morals".

The Dodge Viper is a pretty iconic car. So is the 350Z, only less. However, they look nothing alike. Any moron with a pair of functioning eyes who has been born in the last 20 years knows what a f*cking Dodge Viper looks like.

Dup
Meh, A Veyron chase would only last about 12 mins at full pelt, and if you had some distance on it already you're going to be at an advantage. Most UK Police vehicles are: or or But we also have a few special units like: Lots of cars used in the UK, and bikes too. Each constabulary has different needs. Round me there's Astra panda cars for round town and v8 range rovers for out of town. On the motorways there's unmarked v8 Raange Rovers and extremely quick Mercs and Volvos. Also, football matches are always accompanied by horseback police, which are my favourite. You don't f*cking argue with those.
Timpo
a shame it's just a publicity stunt.... normal police cars in holland look more like this: but they had Porsches long ago.. Edited February 22, 2007 by Timpo
Jay
Most of those ridiculous Police cars are either on loan from, or donated by, the manufacturers. And a lot of the time it is only for a really small amount of time. Enough to get photos of them and post them on the internet I guess.
Timpo
well, the Spyker as posted above was only a publicity stunt for the national police day, but the Italian polizia Lamborghinis are really in use as police cars. but they're donated indeed. Mafia Righthand_Man
The department in our town replaced some of their old fleet with the new Chevy Impalas recently. They look pretty nice. They have those and Crown Vics which really are only 2-3 years old I think. The sheriffs have generally the same model Crown Vics.
millermagic
I think the Crown Vic is the best for police work. Front drive cars (see Lumina, Taurus and Impala) don't hold up well. When there was a police Taurus, it was faster than the CVs ... and then they discovered the AXOD transaxle The Charger has the Crown Vic beat for speed, power and probably fuel economy. But the Crown Vic definitely has it for durability. They are built like a truck (solid axles from a truck, variation of the AODE transmission that was used in everything up to F550s w/ 26000lb towing capacity at one time) and have been the same car for over ten years so all the bugs are worked out.
