Doubts on making a car

Recommended Posts

well, the lights must have the light texture assigned to them. the easiest way to do it is import another SA car and use its light textures. but you need to remap them to look good. the reflection also works with remapping, but on UV channel 2. there are probably some tutorials about mapping and adding the textures in the tutorial forum.

Import an original car and study it's set up. For the mod parts, import a car that has those kind of parts. Basically you should be looking for ug_xxxx (ug is for upgrade, then followed by_(parts name here)) ie ug_spoiler would be where the spoiler goes. Some have damage dummies like the spoiler has an ug_spoiler_dam. If you plan on making your own ug parts, if they show up dark in game then in your .dff make sure it says _shiny after it's name in the hierarchy.

As for the lights, as Timpo said, you need to have the materials set right. The way GTA knows it's the right light is with the color of the material. I don't know them, I just import and use that cars materials, adjust if needed.
