This movie gets way too much credit for a f*cking remake. it was pretty good for a remake, scoresese did it in his own way which is always genius. I wouldn't call it his all time best film because that goes to raging bull(or atxi driver, maybe even mean streets)But I can at least say it's a pretty classic(though a remake) But to me it's kind of sad that scorsese is getting all these awards and congrats for a remake when all the brilliant films he made weren't as much recognized as they should have been. No. It was a great movie, and I'm glad it's being treated as such. Maybe Martin Scorcese will finally get that Oscar. It's about time. I just bought the Limited Edition Steelbook that comes with post cards. It's the 2-Disc set. I haven't even gotten around to watching it, but the features look great so far. It's awesome to have a Goodfella or Casino of the 2000's, yet it's still very fresh. Great performances all-around, tense action scenes, and a good soundtrack to be found here, but then again, what else would you expect? If you're a fan of Scorcese, you seriously need to see this movie. Pick up the 2-disc DVD while you're at it, I can say when a Scorcese movie gets a special edition DVD, it's definitely worth buying it. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Cran. Posted February 25, 2007 Share Posted February 25, 2007 I saw it yesterday. I went expecting nothing, and the trailer that i've seen on TV didn't really excite me at all. But then my friend told me it was done by Scorsese, and I started to get a bit more excited about it. I came out of that cinema a happy man. Excellent soundtrack, fantastic acting, great directing and the writing was top notch. I just love how at parts you can have a laugh, and then at another part you're on the edge of your seat in suspense. Jack Nicholson was excellent and I was surprised by DiCaprio, too. Hell, Alec Baldwin played a pretty good asshole! The whole movie was just such a pleasant surprise and unpredictable. I wasn't expecting EVERYONE to die in the end! 10/10, definatly getting this on DVD. Worth the admission price Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I thought I completely understood it after just one viewing. Maybe the second time around I'll pick up more things.
