I'm surprised they picked almost all of the songs they used on KDST, the classic rock station. I love classic rock. It's my favorite genre represented on the GTA SA radio. But the songs they chose make it, IMO, the worst station in the game.

Running Down The Dream was a nice pick though.

I was surprised at almost all of the tunes on Radio X (RATM, Soundgarden, Helmet weren't expected) as they weren't mainstream enough for a GTA Soundtrack. Doesn't mean I don't like it though, it's my fave station. biggrin.gif

Its not much of a surprise but the song 'Check Yo Self' by Ice Cube on Radio Los Santos was the remix version, which was released in '94 on the album Bootlegs & B-Sides, but San Andreas is set in '92 confused.gif .

As Mister Zero said, I was pleasantly surprised to hear things like RATM and Helmet on Radio X, considering how these bands are not mainstream stuff... Add to this the wonderful "Pretend I'm Dead" by L7.

Since when is Rage Against The Machine not mainstream?

Maybe you guys are really young and didn't get into the music scene in the 1990's, but RATM is about as mainstream as it gets.

I was suprised by "Midlife Crisis"

and i thought "Slow Ride" was a little ironic... depending on how you play the game wink.gif

Guys, don't laugh, but, back in late '92 or '93 when I first heard L7, I use to think it was Johnette Napolitano of Concrete Blonde fame because Donita Sparks' vocals are so similar to one another. When I first heard it, I thought it was a Concrete Blonde song, but it was L7 song. How wrong was I? Stupid me... tounge2.gif

Well of that time they were, but of course being only 16 and not old enough to remember the early 90's, I considered it non-mainstream. I only remember the very last album they did before they split.

Didn't you guys listen to the DJ? She's forever going on about how it's all Alternative and "you can't even buy this stuff".
