Yeah some a hole was holding a sign that said that, eh i guess it is right, ever since they got Duncan they have been good. I just hate his game, so ugly and he flails like a bitch even when he doesnt get fouled. B Rob
Wow. The Spurs may sweep if the Cav's don't get their sh*t together. The Cav's always do well at home though so lets hope they can win 3 in a row. D Jones
Spurs are a great team, but boring to watch. The finals are good for one reason, and that is LeBron James. Sadly enough, he and his team cannot beat the Spurs at all. After that 28 point lead, I turned it off. Spurs are gonna sweep, in my opinion. Mr. Hym.
I think that the Spurs are gonna win at least one or two of these next three away games, and then come back home and finish the job. Also, I think that if the Cavs lose this game tonight, then they're pretty much done for. Bigs
As much as I hope the Cavs come back and win this series, I think the Spurs are just too strong. It's not too much of a downer though, the Cavs are going to be good for the next few years atleast. Bigs
That was a questionable no-call at the end of the game. LeBron looked like he was fouled to me, the refs are just too afraid to call it. Striker*
LeBron definitely got fouled. But I didn't care too much. I think it would've been cheap if the Cavs won because they were playing like complete crap the whole game. Their rotational defense stinks. Everytime Tim Duncan passed out of the double team, everybody scrambled around aimlessly like a cockroach under a spotlight. Do I smell a sweep? Oh well Lebron, better luck next time. Work on your jump shot over the off-season. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/267474-nba-discussion/?do=findComment&comment=4295424 Share on other sites

Forty
God I loathe listening to Jeff Van Gundy. He just can't seem to understand what a f*cking tw*t he is. I can't understand how he was ever a coach. heya JAT! What's the word? JVG has a great defensive mind. The four years he was here we were one of the top five defenses in opp. shooting percentage and points allowed per game. But he's such a whiny little man, always speaking negatively about the team and their progress. It's his tactic but it wears thin. The Rockets traded Juwan Howard for Mike James straight up. That's good for us because we need a definite point guard and additional scoring option, and because we've been stuck with Howard for a few years because he makes more money than he's worth. But it leaves the Rockets essentially naked in the backcourt. After Yao in the 5 and Chuck Hayes in the 4, they really have nobody. We acquired Justin Reed in the trade who is a marginal NBA player at best, but I doubt he will get any time backing up the big men. Mutombo's contract is up and we just moved Howard, so we have no support around the basket. That sucks. We have Adelman as head coach now, and he loves to push the ball, push the tempo, so ideally we'd like a tough, mobile power forward or mid-sized center to bring some toughness around the hoop and get rebounds. We're over the cap however, so our only options are the 23rd pick in the draft and our mid-class exception. Hey so Bibby, Kidd, and Billups are all free agents. I'm sure Chauncey will stay in Detroit, but what do you guys predict for Jason Kidd and Mike Bibby? Who will pay Kidd big bucks at his age? Who can offer Bibby enough money to leave the 16 mil in Sacramento? Mr. Hym.
People keep saying the Spurs are the "N(ational)BA World Champs." People are slow. Beyond that, great game, even though it was low-scoring and won mostly by defense and the fact that LeBron has almost no help. I think he'll win a championship when his contract with the Cavs runs out and he goes to another team. Attorney General
On the contrary, name a league that can compete, in terms of talent, skill and cohesiveness, with the elite teams in the NBA or NFL. They may not be "world champs" in a true sense of the phrase, but my guess is that the champions in the respective leagues would smack the sh*t out of even the best foreign teams. The leagues in Europe have extremely talented players that play a more traditional, team-based basketball than the one- and two-man teams of the modern NBA. They have consistently stomped us in world competition for the past couple of years because we don't take them seriously. Same goes for baseball as illustrated by the World Baseball Classic and our lack of dominance. Football isn't very popular anywhere but here so it doesn't count. But it still shouldn't be the world champions just because it's an American-specific sport. The rest of the world is chock full of talent, we just don't see it on our televisions. Attorney General
Indeed fellas...indeed. Truth be told, I'd rather watch a European team play basketball than most of the teams in the NBA. In the same breath, that's why I prefer watching the Spurs/Pistons brand of "team" basketball where the players consistently play good team defense and share the rock on offense. But no one's going to convince me that Olympia Milano or FC Barcelona is going to beat the Spurs in a seven game series. I get the whole "not the true world champions" idea, but I can't conceivably agree that a foreign club team can beat the best the NBA has to offer. I think it would be relatively safe to say that if a foreign star was capable of starting on an NBA team, and earing the money a starter makes in this league, he would be doing just that. After all, guys like Steve Nash, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, Yao Ming, Pau Gasol and Andre Kirilenko are all playing for NBA teams. In all honesty, if the Cavs had won the series, I'd probably be singing a different tune, but the Spurs prevailed and I think they would more than hold their own against any club team in the world. Forty
The Spurs are the most perfectly executed method of team basketball currently in existence. They can attack from the perimeter, post up, attack the hoop, and can play defense against any number of offensive schemes. They are the most complete team, and I don't think anyone could beat them. That said, I'm f*cking sick of the goddamn Spurs. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/267474-nba-discussion/?do=findComment&comment=4301821 Share on other sites

Attorney General
On the eve of the draft, the Blazers appear to have their mind made up. I read that the Blazers have notified Greg Oden and his camp that they plan to take him with the first pick in the draft. No suprises there. And Kevin Durant falls into the lap of the Sonics and they have the easies decision to make all day. After these guys are drafted, it looks like it's anybody's guess as to who goes next. Attorney General
Greg Oden to the Blazers with the first pick and Kevin Durant to the Sonics @ 2. My Knicks acquired Zack Randolph, Dan Dickau and Fred Jones for Steve Francis and Channing Frye. Good move as far as I'm concerned. Randolph and Curry should be a more than adequate front court pair...not to mention a huge low-post presence. I'm totally surprised by the trade, but I'm more than pleased by it. Sweet move. Ray Allen and the 35th pick in tonight's draft to the Celtics in a trade that brought Delonte West, Wally Sczerbiak and the 5th pick (Jeff Green) in tonight's draft to the Sonics. And Kevin Garnett stayed in Minny even after all the BS about him getting traded this week. thisisanoob
Heh, that trade wasn't too bad. Charlotte has enough young talent to develop now (Okafor, Felton and uh...Morrison?), but Brandan Wright has a lot of talent. If he fits in with the Golden State system, and Marco Belinelli (eh?) settles in okay, the Warriors should go 50 wins next season if they don't get hit with injuries. And if they do, my Mavs can avoid them in the playoffs Unless they cruise. It is alright but i still think charlotte wont really go anywhere. I think they are losing wallace and morrison hasnt showed what he can do. Too many young stars and not enough veterans.
