Well the Cavs are 11-0 in the playoffs this year when James scores 20+ points. So that may be a factor tonight.

You gotta figure Rasheed Wallace is going to play like a madman. He's really upset right now so you never know who is going to win.

Yeah. He was going crazy the other night after the game. No wonder he is leading the league in technicals for the second or third straight year. That includes playoffs too.

EDIT

CAVS WIN! 109-107 IN DOUBLE OVERTIME! CAVS TAKE SERIES LEADE 3-2!

Attorney General

Sensational game!

Lebron had the finest game I've ever seen him play. He scored the Cav's last 25 points and 29 of the last 30 points from the fourth quarter until the second OT. His stat line was- 48 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals. To put it in GTA terms...that's stuff of legends.

However, despite the Cav's leading the series 3-2, let us not forget that the Pistons came back to beat the Cav's in a playoff series last year after trailing 3-2. Sounds familiar right? Right now the Cav's have momentum, and their confidence has gotta be flying high...but the Pistons are a championship caliber team with a hell of a lot more playoff experience than their opponents.

Tune in Saturday for game 6. The Pistons reek of desperation and Cleveland is one win away from the NBA Finals.

LOL yes lets make a bet. The Cav's will win regardless.

Well, you did say over 85 points they will win! So if they don't, sig space?? haha

Yeah sure that will do. smile.gif

Anyway about the game. That was probably the best game I've ever watched. Really exciting and, the lead kept changing back and forth. Lets hope the Cav's can close it out this time.

I hate myself for going to sleep with 4:00 left in the 4th quarter. But I saw the highlights. LeBron was a freaking beast. The game was amazing. I think the Pistons will get game 6 though. A Game 7 would be pretty exciting.

And is it just me, or does nobody esle care about the West? It's kind of boring.

Well the stage is set. The Spurs have rolled through the West with a 12-4 playoff record. King James and the Cav's pulled off the upset in the East. Who do you guys think will win. Everyone is saying the Spurs will run the Cav's off the floor and win it in 5. No one is even giving them a chance and I feel that this is a team of destiny and they can win. I'm going with Cav's in 7 games in a classic series.

Being from northeast Ohio and an avid Cavs fan, I can realistically say that the Cavs could somehow pull this off. If everyone plays at their best (Gooden doesn't have an off day, Gibson drains 3s) then they stand a chance.

Its gonna be a good match but I see the Cavs pulling this one out in 6 biggrin.gif

If you pick the Cavs to win, I don't see how you can predict them winning in anything less than seven games. Saying the Cavs will win any bigger over San Antonio is just wishful thinking, in my opinion. The Spurs' three Championships within the past eight years or so is just too daunting to ignore.

What I think will make the difference in the NBA Finals this year is whether or not Cleveland is content just showing up in the Finals. If they really hunger for the Championship, they've got a legit shot; but if they're just star-struck and happy to play on the biggest stage pro basketball has to offer, fans of LeBron and Co. will most likely be very disappointed.

The Cavs and the Spurs is an interesting matchup, as the Cavs swept them early on in the season. This doesn't mean they'll have an easy time sweeping the Spurs, as the Spurs play very insanely in the Finals, as seen in 2003 and 2005.

Who walks away as the victor? Hell, I don't know.

Burning-Ice

Nice to see Cavs making it, I am sure David Stern is thanking the basketball gods that the finals weren't Pistons vs Spurs.

Anyway, looking at the matchups..really have no idea on who Spurs are going to put on James. If they put Bowen on him, all James has to do is post up..Bowen, while being a great defender, has poor post-up defense and easily gets moved back. Maybe Robert Horry on him? Really no idea what they are gonna do there.

Obreto will be put on Z I think, no point in wasting Duncan's defense against Z's hook shot. Duncan has a good advantage over Gooden, depending on how Oberto (or Elson) play against Z, it could be a long series in the paint for the Cavs. For the guards, Spurs definately have the advantage. Parker/Ginobili/Finley definately are better than Hughes/Snow/Gibson. Hughes is still banged up, Gibson is a good player but Spurs will contain him enough (like they did with the Suns), and Snow..well..I don't think much of him to be quite honest.

My prediction: Spurs in 6.

To be honest, I didn't watch a single conference final game from either conference. Probably the first time in 10 years... Part of it was that I had other stuff to do, part of it was that all the teams I liked were out, and part of it was that I just didn't care.

I will say that I'm glad that the Cavs beat the Pistons though, and I think it would be great to see them take out the Spurs (and I will actually watch this series wink.gif ). However, I don't think it will happen. I think the Spurs won the championship the moment Stoudemire and Diaw left the Phoenix bench in game 4, as regrettable as that is.

Finals start in 3 hours. I can't believe Bowen will be guarding LeBron. LeBron is so much bigger and I think that he should be able to post up on Bowen. The Cav's have got to contain either Ginobli or Parker to have a chance imo. Duncan is Duncan and he will get his points so you have to stop either Ginobli or Parker. Gibson has got to play big too. I also feel that if the Cav's want to have a chance they cant go down 0-2 so they have to get 1 in San Antonio.

I'm kind of disappointed with the Cavs. But I kind of expected it to be worse. Like I didn't realize it was so close at the end when it was like 72-80(I think?) and Lebron missed that three that would've cut it down to five.

Gibson is great by the way. They should play him more. And Larry Hughes guarding Tony Parker is a bad idea.

I don't think there's much LeBron can do. Bowen is all over him and whenever he gets space, he's instantly mobbed. I hate all the trapping that the Spurs do off of the pick and roll.

I want to see the Cavs pulverized into little tiny molecules of dust, it's complete bullsh*t that they have to rely on one player for everything, if James weren't there they would be no better than the Celtics without a star player. The Bulls for example, the first time they won the championship, they relied on Jordan for offense, but also had the best rebounder in history, and two of the best defensive players in history. The Cavs are completely lacking an amazing entourage behind the star, in a few more years maybe, when they have a solid line up, but not now. I say Spurs in five or six, as much as I hate the Spurs being a Detroit fan, I hate James more.

Why do you hate James? Because he is good? Excellent logic.

The Cavs need to get Gibson a ton of open looks tonight. He will drain it until they start changing their defense to stop Gibson, taking pressure off of LeBron.

Yeah dude I mean I can understand your point on how they put lots of their offense around him, but seriously the lakers do that for kobe, the bulls did that for mj, and past teams did that for star players. You cant just hate a player just because he gets a lot of looks. And Rodman wasnt the best rebounder ever.

It's true, but even when they built the team around one player the other players did what they were supposed to well, and played their positions excellently. Lebron's surrounded by mediocre players who do everything for James, and leave everything they can't do (which is a long list) for him to take care of.

PS: I meant to say one of the best, my bad.

Well referring to the celtics, its the same thing there, paul pierce is probably the best player but he is surrounded by guys who arent that great or get injured quite a bit. And im not mad at him, and i doubt you are because they are a sh*tty team. But the cavs didnt make it this far with mediocre guys, hughes used to be a defensive team member, zydrunas was an all star, gooden is a mini boozer but not offensive minded, and the other guys are all young. They arent all stars but neither are the bruce bowens(i f*cking hate him) the deron williams, or the luke waltons. Role players is more like it
