B Rob
Rockets still fighting hard for their lives, but it doesn't look too good for Phoenix. I certainly didn't expect them to lose all first 3 games. Yeah, tough series for the Suns. They lost some close ones, and were up in most of the games in this series. Cav's looking to close out today.
DazedFinch
Cavs advanced into the second round, Celtics looking to do the same right now against the Hawks. The Rockets vs Jazz game should be an epic one tonight, if they Rockets win they should take game seven at home. Second round starts tomorrow as well, Magic vs Pistons should be a battle down low. If the Pistons had trouble with the 76ers I think the Magic can push the Pistons to their limits.

Kaiser_AK
Yea right..... the Celts are gonna get pounded by my Cav's baby!! I'm calling my Cav's in 6. That game was pretty disappointing, I haven't seen LeBron play like that...ever. I cringe every time I watch the replays on the TNT. Not to mention I gotta watch it in HD which only makes it more painful...Anyways I agree with you, Cavs in 6. Speaking of which, did you guys catch Charles calling himself a dumbass last night on Inside the NBA? Yeah you heard right, he called himself a dumbass, I was cracking up all night! You gotta check it out...I can't find it on youtube but its on the last nights episode on nba.com Edited May 8, 2008 by Kaiser_AK
DazedFinch
Fawk I really hope the Spurs can drag themselves out of this 2-0 deficit with the Hornets. Soo happy for CP3, still making noise in the 2nd round. The Spurs are done, Duncan is on the decline and theres not much of a chance that Parker and Manu can carry the team. Paul is playing MVP caliber basketball and the only thing getting in the way of the Hornets making a championship appearance is the current MVP and the Lakers. The Celtics Cavs series should turn out to be a battle of which team can play better defense.
Attorney General
Agreed. I think the Spurs will battle back to take tonight's game, but New Orleans should be able to weather the storm and win the series. A Lakers-Hornets conference finals is about as competitive a series as can be made. Led by their respective MVP's, both teams are playing their best ball of the season. Expect fireworks. In the east, I look for Boston to put the Cavs away in six. But I think that the Pistons can take either of them the way they're playing right now (provided Chauncey Billups comes back healthy). tony da boss
The only team that went down 2-0 in my mind that actually has a chance, is San Antonio. The Cavs' offense has been painful to watch so far, and even if it improves during their home stand, I still can't see them winning in Boston at all in this series. And for the Jazz, Kobe and Gasol are just playing too good for them. Boozer and Williams need to have spectacular games if they want to win a game in the series. I can't even imagine what we'll be doing with Bynum next year.

I can't even imagine what we'll be doing with Bynum next year. They were able to during the regular season, but so far it is looking like a tough task to do. Both teams have either been Defensive monsters, or offensive retards, lol. Obviously the Celts were the best team in the NBA, and only lost 6 games at home this year I believe, ask the Hawks how hard it was, they couldn't win a game in Boston either. I love my Cleveland teams, and therefore am an obviously huge fan, but they have to prove they can win in Boston, Lebron has gone 8/42, and is averaging 19% fg percentage, even if he shot 35% he would probably be able to pull off a win. I hate to do this, because it might cause big problems, but I am very disappointed that Kobe has won the MVP this year, how can you complain about the team and demand a trade at the start of the season and then get the MVP? Especially when the largest improvement to the team, were the additions, to me Most Valuable Player means just that. If this were actually the case, then Lebron should have gotten it his rookie year, as he double the wins the Cavs had from the previous season. A side question about Lebron, do any of you consider what is happening historic in any way? I ask because from straight out of high school and in to the Nba, he has consistently shown he is the best player, even if there are points to his game that need improvement, he has become the fastest scorer of all time, first to 10,000 and so forth, had Jordan numbers this year, I mean come on, how do you average the same as MJ (who only did it once) and this is only his 5th year in the league? I think he adds so much to the game of basketball, and the league. On a side note from that, who is excited for the Olympic team? Should be pretty nasty this summer. Oh and I believe the Cavs have been in this same position, against the Pistons yet pulled out the win on the back of Lebron. Still, Boston has proved to be a dominant defensive team. Jonesizzle
I knew LeBron wasn't going to be no joke whenever I first seen him play against Sacramento. He is one of those players you get ever 10-15 years. I think the last two great basketball players to come out of HS are Kevin Garnett and Kobe Bryant. LeBron James has the potential to be one of the best and be up there with MJ. Give him a good supporting cast and he will be considered better than Jordan in 10 years. Imagine him with the team Kobe has, or if they had gotten KG in the off season instead of Boston...I wonder if it's the team being cheap, like the Indians. Exciting I'm actually surprised the way the second round has been going so far. Celtics can't buy a win on the road, the Jazz cannot lose at home and the Spurs showed why they're the defending champs. Looks like this round is going to be very close down the stretch. Bartleby
Ugh, I was hoping Orlando would at least delay Detroit's victory in the series tonight. Their play in the last two minutes of the game was f*cking sloppy. Twice they lost the ball just by tripping over themselves, and on their last chance in the game to tie it from a 3-point deficit, Turkoglu drives to the hoop. What the f*ck? You shoot the 3 in that scenario, especially when it's been working for you. I wouldn't count on getting the foul, especially if the other team is smart and knows to let you go to the hole to seal their victory (I realize Tayshaun Prince challenged him anyway and came away with a clean block). Boo. Maybe the Hornets will steal one tonight.

tony da boss
I'm amazed home teams are 20-1 in this round. Who thought home court advantage would be THAT meaningful. Yeah, and Clevland's up by nine heading into the fourth, might 21-1 in about an hour or so. After the way Boston's played on the road against Cleavland and Atlanta, I doubt they'll be able to match up against who ever the west puts out. And that's even if they make it past Clevland this round, and then Detroit the next, which I'm starting to find very doubtful. NBA champions don't drop three straight road games against Atlanta. Attorney General
NBA champions don't drop three straight road games against Atlanta. Agreed, my friend. I don't think they make it out of the East. Detroit is playing lights out right now, and the Celtics must be exhausted after their last two series' both went seven games. I see Detroit taking this series. And shame on me for counting out the Spurs. I should've known better than to pick against the seasonsed old vets. These guys don't buckle under pressure. Guys like Bowen, Duncan, Manu, Finley, Horry and Parker have been to the promised land...and they know what it takes to win in the playoffs. The way the handled New Orleans early...and weathered the storm down the stretch yesterday was so impressive. On the contrary, Kobe seems to have incorporated this "team first" mentality. And it has the Lakers playing some of their best ball of the season. Lamar Odom has been a catalyst for this team's success with the way he's played in the Utah series. There are few guys who can fill a stat sheet the way he has lately. And Gasol might just be the low post presence the Lakers need to get them over the hump and back to the Finals. Attorney General
Well I can happily say... 1-0 Boston Obviously my hopes aren't anywhere near high though... This is going to be another long and painful series. I remain unconvinced. You had to figure Boston would take game 1 after Detroit had a long rest. I still kinda lean toward Detroit taking the series in six or seven. But hey, lately my predictions are wrong nearly every time. I hear you Runey, but even though that series might not be as aesthetically pleasing as say, a Lakers-Celtics matchup...you still have to respect the "team first" concept that both teams seem to represent. I liked what Manu Ginobili said after they won the New Orleans series. Craig Sager asked him if he was more comfortable in the starting lineup rather than coming off the bench. He replied by saying " I'm comfortable winning...and I'll play hard whether I'm starting or coming off the bench as the sixth man". You gotta admire a guy who makes a selfless statement like that, no?
