Wanted to play this the other day, only to have my graphics card mess up and give me black and white pixilated lines all over the screen before I had the chance. I'd be willing to play with you guys whenever I get a new card and my PC back up and running.

Though I dont like playing as I am worried my pc will just melt infront of me if I do.

 

I really wish this was ported to 360, exactly the same with refined controls.

I put up a co-op vanilla BF2 server. It's running 16 player maps with 16 bots and max 10 human players. It's a privately ranked server, so you earn awards and sh*t while running around blowing up bots.

 

I remember a few years ago, we made it into a modded Wake Server with extra flags and 128 bots, almost all on the Chinese side. The US weapons were beefed up so that C4 would level an entire base, and hellfire missiles would cause a shockwave 50m away.

 

Those were good times. Me, Doody the Clown (banned) and Kutthroat (RIP) would spend f*cking days just running around annihilating bots and trying not to get overwhelmed when its 128 vs 5. I remember Mercie flying the chopper while I would run up a 90 kill streak while gunning.

 

f*ck, I need to get the modded version back up. I'll post the IP of my current server once I get back to my house. Euro players may have a bit of ping problems, but it's extremely playable for US players.

There are still a few city maps that don't run IO. You just have to be a bit patient and wait for a slot to open up, as these servers generally are full.

I don't know, I hit up BF2 yesterday and there were ~500 servers that weren't running infantry only.

 

Me, I'm pretty much a Wake whore. Learned yesterday how much fun yelling at people through a mic can be when they listen to you.

 

I just wish half the damn Wake servers weren't that stat padding/high points fa**otry bullsh*t.

Im seeing assloads of v1.0 64 player servers (not infantry only).

I decided to jump in and play a little. Boy is it fun as ever.

 

Though my stats arent updating after playing on some ranked servers and the game crashes to desktop occasionally (which is pretty darn annoying when theres a big battle going on).

I got kicked yesterday by an admin who wasn't there. Apparently there is some auto-adminning software for BF2 that lets you set certain rules that are enforced in the absence of an actual admin.

 

Normal stuff, yeah, like cursing and teamkilling you get warned for.

 

But for flying a jet within 100m of the US carrier? When I'm chasing a f*cking F35 in a J10?

 

Or when I wait a few minutes for a jet, and some douchebag who just crashed his steals the next one, and I get in front of it to f*ck with him? Yeah, I get teamkilled, but I also get warned for "STANDING IN FRONT OF JETS FORCING TEAMMATES TO KILL YOU".

 

I swear, the more authority these little f*cking kids get, the more stupid bullsh*t regular players have to put up with. They're writing f*cking programs that enforce this sh*t.

 

At least all it does is kick you and not ban you.

Go there, download the mod and core maps, and then don't worry about having to play idiot bots in SP or idiot idiots in MP. I've only played a few hours, but goddamn this makes me forget about POE2 and any other SP/MP mod I ever played. Plus, it's privately ranked, you can set up your own ranked servers, and it's got a pretty decent sized user base.

 

Fun for dicking around without having to deal with asshole "hardcore" players all the damn time. Plus, pretty much all new weapons, armies, kits, pickups, vehicles, and like 8000 new aircraft and maps.

I finally ranked up after being a Gunny for two years. Two goddamn years. Whhoooo. I've unlocked the MG36, because I'm a major whore. I dunno what to go with as my second unlock - SCAR-L, F2000 or the P90.

I'd go with the "Scar L", best weapon out of those three in my opinion. The P90 is good in close range combat, but useless otherwise. Put the Scar L on single shot and its quite effective. The F2000 is quite a good gun aswell, but the Assault class isn't really that good, Spec Ops is more effective I think.

Now that you say it, it all makes sense. The other two would be pretty useless since I hardly ever find myself using the assault class or the anti tank class. And if do use AT, it'll be with the DAO-12. I don't need another close-range weapon for it. Problem solved. Though I rarely use the Spec Ops, I love to go to "arty island" and plant C4 in their boats and then blow them up once they enter them. Yeah, that's right, f*ck the objective.

 

And I didn't even know the MG36 could go into burst fire mode, I thought it was great is it was. Seemed quite redundant for an LMG, to have burst fire. The more you know!

You can, but you'd lose a lot of health, which could be vital around the next corner .

The cross hairs look the same yet each weapon fires different. I can kill one after another with the g36 just firing it at them yet if i try to cross hair them it wont bring my enemy down as quick. most of it depends on your computers ability on how smooth it runs as well. Thats how it comes off as different when its best to worse. I can't hit a damn thing with a grenade laucher on the higher settings yet some reason if its down to medium i can get alot of grenade kills. Ive always thought bf2 is just a luck vs. resource management deal.

I personally think that the L85A1 is the best unlock Medic weapon, of course, the G36E is good but its too easy to use (if that makes any sense). The M16 is very good, but again, the iron sight on that isn't brilliant either. Both the M16 and L85 are deadly weapons on single shot, as I figured in many many rounds in scrims and league matches.
