*gta star*
I think BF2 will be a game played for a long time yet, so I wouldn't give up on it so soon.
Mercie
Why not shoot for another -GTAF- game this weeken? That should be ample time for people to get it installed and patched and all that goodness.
Parky.
sundays good for me. Â Even if I can't play without everything lagging out. Â I'll try and sort it
Carbine23
I have a question. I'm getting a mac and i want a battlefield game but i can only get either Battlefield 2142 or Battlefield 1942. Now, i played Battlefield 2142 and i liked it but i felt like the maps were too huge, and im not into the whole futuristic thing. I was wondering, is battlefield 1942 a good game? And how many people play it still? I wish i could get Battlefield 2 but it's only for windows.
*gta star*
As far as I know, it's still a popular game, with some big servers too (64 players). Â @Mercie - That would be good.
Taste Of Chaos
Cant quite remember what I did here...But i remember blowing up the bridge on an empty serve, then coming back a few hours later to find the whole thing missing! :S Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Enjoy! lt_yao
What servers are you playing on? And do you use all of the expansions? I'd really like to play with you guys although I only have BF 2 without any expansions.

I'd really like to play with you guys although I only have BF 2 without any expansions. Not many of us play any more, back in the days though it was everything. Â Is there a way to force Anti Aliasing on BF2? It won't let me choose it, I set it x2, x4, x6 but it just goes back to off and honestly, it looks like utter sh*te. Edmachine
Is Punkbuster really, really required in order to play BF2? This topic encouraged me to install BF2 again, and try to do some on-line gaming. Is Punkbuster needed to play on-line? Now, I'm able to play BF with somewhat low-to-mid settings, but when I get my new parts, damn, how smooth it'll run . Â Few Q's. 1) What are the best map packs (preferably ones with cities and with good places to snipe) 2) What servers are the best?

Yes, you NEED Punkbuster to play. Its the anti-cheat part of the game. You won't get on MP without it.  A) All city maps are good for sniping. They don't just slap loads of building into a map, its all carefully thought out. B) Too many to pick, just go for a busy one on a map you like with a low ping and you'll have fun. Edmachine
OK, thanks! Â Also, do I need v1.41 to play MP? Or are there servers that are for different versions? Patching takes buttload of time... Too bad, that EA doesn't release patches for BF2 ONLY (all patches include expansion pack map patches and stuff for expansions). With only BF2 stuff, they'd probably be 5 times smaller...
*gta star*
If you download the v1.41 patch, you will be better off. If you download another patch, you will only be able to play the same version as that patch, so there may be a limited amount of servers to choose from. Deuce Deuce
I used to play BF2. My disk got scratched to hell, though. Â Now I think of it: is it normal for the game to take a good 5 minutes to load a map?
Slamman
I saw OPM's colorful preview, looks damn good and for PS3, certainly worthy of consideration. Â Â Being as I was unfamiliar and often confused by ALL the war games around, I think I am thinking of the right game but a new for PS3 version?? WarburtonsMediumSlice
there are two (one is rumered) Battlefield games comming out soon.  Battlefield: Bad Company (most ironic title ever BTW), and Battlefield 3 (only rumers and a couple of magazine articles).  B:BC is a console only game (PS3 and Xbox 360), look at it as a sequal to Battlefield 2: Modern Combat.  BF3 will be PC only, probably
Crokey
Both games are confimed as in the 'pipeline', Bad Company is practically finished. And BF3 is being worked on now, but details as yet are very sketchy as to what's going to be in it... but if it's going to have CoD4 Graphics and BF2 gameplay, then it's going to be the best game ever in my onion. Â And yes it's going to PC only... I mean FPS games are only really suited to PC gaming anyway in my own humble sausage.
