So I assumed WWE will do the same pattern for every 10 years during WrestleMania seasons: Fans wanted a popular wrestler to go after a world title at WrestleMania > WWE choose a wrestlers that the fans don't like > Fans were mad at WWE for not included a popular wrestler in the match > WWE changes their mind and adds popular wrestler in a match at WM > Popular wrestler wins a world title at 'Mania.

^ that part where Punk talks to Rhodes till 0:47 ish turned straight up prophetic

So what now for the WHC? Assuming they don't pivot away from Rock v Roman...will it be Cody v Seth even after Cody said he wants Roman's title (just not at Mania)? I'd rather it be Seth v Drew v Sami, but Rhodes won the rumble surely he's gotta face one of the champs? Just that Cody v Seth feels like an anticlimax after Romans put down of Seth and even Cody acknowledging it's Reigns' title he wants.

Ngl, part of me enjoys how chaotic this road to WM has become. It looked like a stellar if predictable Rhodes v Reigns and Rollins v Punk but now the script has been torn up and Rocky Johnson is public enemy number one, ooh boy I smell what's cooking

Yeah, sounds like Cody was never going to beat Roman this year. "Supposedly", there's been a plan in place for Cody to win the WHC for a long time now and then have a title vs title match at Summer Slam with Roman where he'll once again unify the belts. Some people are saying that they always expected this level of outrage and it's all part of a plan to make Cody an even bigger babyface. Basically, they're making him the new Daniel Bryan/Kofi Kingston, but on purpose.

I'm not sure what's true and what's not but I don't solely blame The Rock for this. It feels to me that TKO is going to run WWE like a movie studio. When it comes to the smaller shows they'll step aside and let the people who know what they're doing run the show, but when it comes to the big tentpole stuff the suits are gonna manipulate things for maximum profit over quality.

Honestly, it could be that it's been run like that for a long time now and Vince's booking was just so bad and inconsistent that we didn't notice the corporate interference.

Lol, would be an extremely convoluted thing to do. Fans accepted him as the main event of WM and the guy to dethrone Roman so if this is true there was zero need to do anything else. That's why I don't buy this, it's probably just the Rock or management wanting to make the biggest name value match possible

Honestly at this point I just want the belt off Roman, be it Cody or Rock

The unification title thing I'm not in favour of, we just had the new WHC and i like the idea of each brand having a main champ

Yeah, I don't really see any way out of this without getting convoluted. Hell, it already is convoluted. There's no denying that Cody is more over now than he ever has been, though. So, if this was on purpose... it's absolutely working. And it wouldn't surprise me in the least if they wanted Roman to surpass Hogan's record.

I'm not a huge fan of unification again either. But, I don't think they'd become one Undisputed belt again. I think Cody would defend them both individually. Unfortunately, he'll end up losing the WHC to Gunther and Gunther will start yet another way too long title reign. lol

Given the Rocky sucks chant on Raw, they may want to pivot

Yeah, they're kinda stuck now. I think the best thing they can do is a triple-threat match and then watch the twitter riots when Jey rejoins the Bloodline to help Roman retain again ;)

I think we'll get confirmation sooner than later, though. My best guess is Cody will confirm he's going after Roman and we'll get a men's Elimination Chamber match to find Seth's challenger.

I want Sami Zayn to win the WHC soon, dont think hes a guarantee to be world champ ever but now feels like his best shot. In hindsight I would have had Drew on completing his heel turn, beating Seth for the WHC to drop it to Sami at Mania. Feel like Rollins beat Drew because of the eventual Mania showdown with Punk that now wont come to be

It's kinda crazy how stacked they are right now. Both brands have at least 4 guys they could slot into a world title match at WrestleMania.

I am a long time pro wrestling fan and currently I prefer AEW to WWE.  Mostly because I am sick of Roman Reigns.  I hope Cody wins so we can move on finally from this Bloodline crap at the top of the card.

Hey now, you acknowledge your Tribal Chief lol

Anyone seen Wrestlemania 40? Probably my favorite one thus far, even though I knew what was gonna happen with two of the matches from Night 2. I knew Drew was gonna win only to have Damian cash in and ultimately become the new World Heavyweight Champion. I knew for Cody vs Roman that Jimmy was gonna intervene, only for Jey to come out, then Solo, then Cena AND/OR Seth (it ended up being both to my surprise), then the Rock. After Rocky, I thought Steve Austin would be last but to my surprise it was Undertaker instead.

I'm glad Cody won. I'm glad he got to finish the story.

What a return stint for Cody Rhodes this has been. He will have main evented Wrestlemanias with the two biggest stars of his generation, Reigns and Cena. Cena and the Rock turned villain to feud with Cody, that in itself is an accomplishment and Rhodes still maintains his popularity in front of them.
