The Ultimate Warrior Announces His Return To Pro Wrestling

Staggering news resounded in the NWE Arena during the Madrid show on April 19th. More than 15,000 fans had the chance to see the award presentation which celebrated the career of professional wrestling icon, The Ultimate Warrior; who was in attendance to accept his award. However, controversy erupted during the presentation when NWE Champion Orlando Jordan mocked a young fan of Warrior's at the event. Warrior was quick to come to the defense of this fan which led to a heated conflict between Warrior and Jordan.

On June 25th 2008 in Barcelona, after a 12 year absence from the ring, The Ultimate Warrior will officially make his wrestling comeback in a match against Jordan. The news was confirmed this morning by Warrior's agent, Bernie Gernay in a statement.

"For over 10 years this is what the entire wrestling world has been waiting for, the return of the Warrior. We are excited to bring back the greatest character and energy to ever get into the ring. Ultimate Warrior is an incredible marketing machine and has kept a tremendous value to his name which is why the NWE has stepped up with a substantial deal that worked very well for both sides. There is no disputing that Warrior left a mark on professional wrestling that no other talent did and the reason why still today he is often imitated, but never duplicated."

Over the next few days the NWE will inform fans of the preparations for one of the biggest and most important wrestling events ever to be held in Europe. As the news progresses it is sure to be the headlines of wrestling news and forums throughout the internet and will most certainly have all in the wrestling industry and fans alike in great anticipation to see what the Warrior will deliver on June 25th, and perhaps beyond.

Bernie J. Gernay

Agent for The Ultimate Warrior

This is.... epic? As Scarface187 just said to me on MSN "LOAD THE SPACESHIP WITH THE ROCKET FUEL"

T-Cipp: Well, I can't really think of any good ones. So I'll just pick some opponents that I would like to see wrestle. It would be in an Elimination Chamber. With HHH, Y2J, Batista, Taker, John Cena, Orton, Big Show, Khali, and Edge.

Now, that would be epic.

!!GameCH33TA!!: Now usually every WWE wrestling game that comes out sucks ass. After SD Vs. Raw 2006, they just started going downhill.

They've f*cked with the controls so bad it's not even funny.

I'm not even going to rent the next game.

Ah man, I used to love wrestling. When I was younger I used to watch WCW with the likes of Sting, golberg, kevin nash and gold dust.

I still have the game "Just Bring It". It was the first wrestling game for PS2. Oh, the memories. I still remember playing it for years. Creating my own wrestler and playing with friends/cousins.

There is a new coming out though. "SVR 2009". It's suppose to be coming out, Q3 2008. It's main focus is online gaming.

I'm preying it doesn't turn out to be a pile of sh*t, like the recent ones.

I've read that they're also focusing on single player tag team matches now too.

What sucks is that I hated the tag team matches in all of the games, just a major pain in the ass. I assume they'll be the same way this year, regardless of their so-called "improvements".

Yup. Tag team matches and online is what they're focusing on.

I too, disliked the tag team matches on pretty much all the games. Reason why is, it would be hard for me to get my partner to do a certain thing. Like pin the opponent, or reach the other guy, before he would interfere with the three count that I had. What I would usually do is, if I wasn't the one that was wrestling, I would keep the one that is wrestling outside the ring for ten seconds and I would win the match easily. It was no easy job though.

Here is the trailer for some of you that might of not seen it. It's coming out for every console, that is available at retail stores.

Yeah, I saw the trailer when it came out. Looks more or less like last year's version.

I think that they should hold up on releasing one next year, and just completely start everything from scratch, reinvent the franchise. Maybe, just maybe, we could end up with another Here Comes the Pain, or maybe even another No Mercy - that game ruled on N64.

Yea i know. '07 and '08 were so terrible, the graphics were great but the game itself was an elephant sized pile of manure. The controls in '06 were absolutly perfect and the GM mode was great, along with the Slobber Knocker match type, but then they just had to mix up the controls twice in 2 years and take out and ruin all of the other game modes.

The only two things that would make '06 the ultimate wrestling game is have better graphics and having Jeff Hardy.

I think what would be great for it, would be euphoria.

But, then again, that would be great for every game. Even tetris. Lol tounge.gif

Also, who do you think will become King?

I'm hoping Jeff will return to kill everyone, then loose in the final match against HHH.

I'm still pissed that Xbox gets 64 layers and custom soundtrack while PS3 gets nothing. Hopefully it will change come SVR 09

Meh, IMO, Here Comes the Pain was the last, greatest WWE Wrestling game on the PS/Xbox consoles. Backstage battles and everthing like that. Wrestlemania 19 was also excellent IMO, mainly because of Revenge Mode.

The SvR games have been lame, with the latest one sucking badly. I mean, why the hell was the control for looking at different opponents taken out again? I am not getting 09.

They just f*cked with the controls too much. That's my main gripe. It used to be a breeze when I wanted to grapple a guy, I'd just have to push one button. Now, I've got to f*cking hold down a button and flick the joystick and all that bullsh*t.

Not worth it.

I guess they wanted you to feel like you're in the match. Kind of like the game "Skate". Where you have to move the analog stick a certain direction to do a certain trick/move.

But have no fear, TNA is here. As much as I dislike TNA, they're coming up with their own game. And I got to say, it looks pretty damn good. The graphics are incredibly realistic. Gameplay looks nice as well.

Here are some videos.

I've gotten really used to the new controls, but it REALLY bugged me at first. It makes movement more realistic, a little more convinient (depending on what system; me = PS3), even if it is still kind of complicated.

Previews for 2Night's RAW, SVR 2009/TNA iMPACT Head-to-Head, More:

RAW Preview:

As WWE Superstars return from the rich, royal tradition of the United Kingdom to American shores, the stars of Raw, SmackDown and ECW will compete for their own unique crowning glory.

For the first time in two years, a new King of the Ring will be decided in a one-night tournament that commences in the very first hour of a special three-hour episode of Raw, live from the BI-LO Center in Greenville, S.C.

Eight competitors will have to defeat multiple opponents in a single night to be coronated with the treasured crown and robe that WWE Legends and Hall of Famers such as Harley Race, “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase, Bret “Hitman” Hart, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and Edge have worn during their illustrious careers.

It’s not known which Superstars will make up the tournament field, but be assured that the four men involved in the Fatal Four Way Match for the WWE Championship at Backlash  John Cena, John “Bradshaw” Layfield, Triple H and WWE Champion Randy Orton " will want to make their mark and gain momentum just days before their title tilt. A King of the Ring Tournament victory would do just that.

Also watching the tournament live at BI-LO Center will be Senators Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton *(and possibly Sen. John McCain)*, who have been invited to settle their Democrat differences in Greenville. What will happen as these two titans of the political world face off in the WWE ring? Will their confrontation finally end their stalemate on the road to their party’s presidential nomination?

With Shawn Michaels and Batista at odds over HBK’s retirement of WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair at WrestleMania XXIV, look for sparks to fly if the two cross paths in the tournament or if they match up with their special guest referee at Backlash, Chris Jericho.

Also, the Divas cheered as Mickie James ended The Glamazon’s dominance, stunning fans worldwide to claim her fourth Women’s Championship. How will Beth Phoenix react to the loss? And will other Divas look to challenge the new champion, making her new reign a short one?

Find out as a king is crowned on Monday Night Raw, airing live at a special start time of 8/7 CT, only on USA Network.

Will The Presidential Candidates Really Appear On RAW?

According to an article in today's Broadcasting & Cable, Presidential hopefuls Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John McCain WILL be appearing tonight on the three-hour Monday Night Raw as they have taped messages to the viewers. WWE initially advertised a parody match between Clinton and Obama, similar to their Rosie O'Donnell-Donald Trump "match" last year.

The candidates were not interested, the article notes: "While they did not take WWE up on the tongue-in-cheek offer, they did agree to tape a message for the audience, as did McCain, whom the network also reached out to as part of its effort to get viewers to the polls."

RAW Main Event effects KOTR:

Announced as the main event for tonight's three hour Raw King of the Ring special is an eight man tag featuring World Champion The Undertaker & ECW Champion Kane & John Cena & Triple H vs. WWE Champion Randy Orton & Edge & JBL & Chavo Guerrero.

Obviously, the inclusion of all these major names means the King of the Ring tournament will be used again as a vehicle to build a mid-card name for the future. However, there were no long term plans for WWE to do a one-night King of the Ring tournament on Raw tonight. Apparently the decision was made in the last ten days. There is no clear idea of who is going to be in the tournament, with some talent still not knowing if they were involved as of yesterday.

WWE HD Update, SD! vs RAW 2009 vs. TNA iMPACT

- Popular HD blog EngadgetHD.com is reporting that those who subscribe to DISH's AT100 and Essentials HD or any higher package will now be getting Sci Fi and USA Network in high definition as well. The Sci Fi HD is located on channel 122 HD while USA HD is located on 105 HD. This is obviously good news for wrestling fans who use DISH to watch their favorite wrestling shows and can now enjoy WWE programming in crystal clear high definition picture and sound.

- Miami Herald published a story on TNA trying to compete against WWE in the video game world before competing in overall business. Both sides of the battle (THQ for WWE and Midway for TNA) were amicable talking about what each other brings to the table. "I've seen stuff here and there, not a whole lot, but I wish them all the luck," THQ's Bryan Williams told Scott Fishman. "Competition is good. The video game market and genre are big enough for both of us. I'm looking forward to playing it as a gamer myself."

Midway's Jaime Bencia says they're looking to bring new elements to the table that surpass WWE's video game series. "We've spent a significant amount of time and effort to bring as much realism to every single wrestling animation implemented in the game," said Bencia. "We think we've got an experience that will give any wrestling game out there a legitimate run for its money."

The article also includes info on WWE wrestlers working with THQ on the features in the 2009 video game. Former Spirit Squad members, MVP, and Victoria have helped out with motion capture for the game.

WWE Builds Hall Of Fame Near TNA:

It was reported several weeks back that Shane McMahon said World Wrestling Entertainment was considering building a physical Hall of Fame. The building would honor past Hall of Fame inductees and contain wrestling memorabilia. We're told the project is still being discussed and one of the locations being considered is the Universal Studios theme park in Orlando. Universal Studios also happens to be the home of TNA Wrestling.

Yea!

Why hold the King of the Ring thingy, and don't put any of the good ones in?

Sure, CM Punk and Y2J. But not 'Taker and HHH or even Cena is in it.

Just a big tag match.

Guess WWE is afraid of admitting that they've got one sucky brand, and one great brand...

And what exactly could Taker, HHH, and Cena gain from being in it? HHH is already a former King. And all of them are multiple time world champions. Hell, Undertaker is the current champion so him being in it is just plain stupid. There's no point in putting any of them even being in it.

I take it you're not familiar with his matches in ROH. His match with Samoa Joe in ROH on 10/16/04 was the first match in the US to earn a 5 star rating from Dave Meltzer's Wrestling Observer Newsletter since the original Hell in a Cell at the 97 Bad Blood PPV. CM punk is amazing.

Just watched all of ECW. And damn that new announcer sucks really badly. He didn't say anything at all. It was Tazz that did most of the talking.

Pretty decent matches though.

Also, I wasn't a bit surprised that Regal was going to win it. I mean, for a guy like Regal. Why the hell would they bring him all the way up to the finals, and make him lose at the end? Doesn't make any sense. I knew he was going to win.

The main problem I've had with the SvR games is they leave off nearly half the roster. I've been waiting forever for them to put London & Kendrick in there for them to have matches against the Hardyz. Also, Deuce & Domino, John Morrison, The Miz, Jimmy Wang Yang, Shannon Moore, and many others are always left off.

I also want them to do some different legends. Maybe some classic tag teams, like Demolition, the Hart Foundation, LOD, the Rockers, the British Bulldogs, the Rock & Roll Express, and the Brain Busters.

...and Vader.

Oh, and for the TNA game, there better be a way to play Daniels as Curry Man.

The sh*tty thing about them is that once the roster in the game is sealed too early on. In SVR 2008, Johnny Nitro is the default ECW champion but didn't he change his ring name to John Morrison just a few days after winning it? And as soon as the roster is locked in, WWE signs some big talent that ends up not being in the game.

SVR's biggest problem is that they always seem to go 1 step forward and 2 steps back. They always add some new feature that's fairly cool but they always take away more things that you've come to love. Shut Your Mouth and Here Comes the Pain had awesome backstage areas. Now they're gone. They've taken away too many gimmick matches as well. First they took away the casket and I quit match, now they've taken even more. And what ever happened to SYM and HCTP's awesome story modes? And how bout, instead of replacing legends, they just add to them? I'm still waiting to play as Yokozuna, Vader, Earthquake, and King Kong Bundy. The complaints I have with the games are endless.
