That Miz promo was so on point. Wrestling is about the promos and the story, the match means jack sh*t without any heat. Today, WWE is about two men in underwear performing interpretative dance, all the characters are just glad to be there and have wrestled all over the world. You take these guys like Zayn, Styles to an extent, Balor, Nakamura, Rollins, these guys are clueless outside of the ring. Clueless. And don't say you like Seth Rollins screaming he's the best for twenty minutes, those smarks who defend that sh*t hated Triple H cutting twenty minutes on Raw but because Trips didn't do flippy sh*t it's not okay. Please.

 

 

 

This image is what sells tickets and draws money. A wrestler portraying a character and CARING about character development. Miz was spot on with his indie bingo hall comment, Miz can continue working at a high level because he works safe and doesn't do dangerous flippy sh*t for pops. The Miz got over without having to kill himself and that burns Daniel up inside, both the character and the person. The Miz is underrated as f*ck because smarks hate him. While he may be a slightly above average wrestler, his mic skills are great and he's able to work a crowd. There are so many people who have been partnered with him, and he'd consistently put them over. Would be a much more interesting WWE champion than Dean Ambrose for a multitude of reasons.

Miz was great, Bryan & Renee sold it great.

Smackdown and Talking Smack have been good, and not only that, but literally improving week on week. This week's episode was the best post-draft Smackdown so far, and I think it's fair to count Talking Smack as part of Smackdown seeing as Raw has three hours. By contrast, Raw blew its load and showed its hand in the first episode. They don't appear to have anything else, and it just gets worse every week.

I'm not a fan of the Miz but that promo was great. That's that old style in your face sh*t. You hit it where it hurts and trigger a genuine reaction making for a much more natural exchange. Don't really see a lot of that anymore and some of it sounds so forced now days. And of course Bryan is always a good sport

That Miz promo was pure class, but they really need to build on it or it'll end up wasted.

 

As for Raw's third hour and how it ruins the show, nobody in WWE including Vince like it, the blame is actually with USA Network as they demanded a third hour. If you ask me I think Vince should get his grapefruits out and can the third hour.

The extra hour might emphasize Raw's shortcommings, but I don't think all Raw's faults can be pinned on that fact. You'd think they could at least get 2 & a half hours of at least decent stuff on Raw, as Smackdown manages it (incl Talking Smack).

 

Raw's direction (if it's even justified to say it has any) just seems way more instant-gratification-driven with way less future planning or logical consideration taken for how fans might react to the show.

Man, I'm not a modern wrestling fan, I fell out of it around 2000. But I love queuing up a bunch of clips on YouTube from when I was a kid.

 

But I do remember Mr Fuji. Always throwing "salt" in people's faces. My most vivid memory being when they had that Wrestlemania outside of Ceasar's palace, and he tried to throw it in Hulk Hogan's face, but he ducked and it hit Yokozuna.
