SD! seemed ok. I guess it's because I only turned it on during the main event. Good match. is Festus really that good?

RAW Preview (4/14):

The anticipation for the WWE Championship Fatal Four Way Match at Backlash can’t be contained by America’s shores, as the Superstars battle in merry old England when Raw airs from London’s O2 Arena.

With both Triple H and John Cena interjecting themselves into the WWE Title foray last Monday, the one-fall WWE Championship contest between Randy Orton, John “Bradshaw” Layfield, The Game and Cena looks to be a chaotic matchup. Who will make the first move to get a leg up on their competition, either physically or psychologically, in this battle of four current and former WWE Champions.

General Manager William Regal announced that he'll face the Legend Killer in the ring Monday night, in an attempt to teach the champion "some respect." Will the wielder of the "Power of the Punch" be able to derail the WWE Champion in front of his countrymen? We’ll find out in Londontown as Raw airs live.

Also, as the buildup to the battle between two of WWE’s top Superstars continues to boil, Shawn Michaels and Batista will both be in the O2 Arena Monday night. Will they be able to keep things civil until they step inside the ring at Backlash? Or will the tension be broken with fisticuffs as The Animal continues to blame HBK for the retirement of his mentor, Ric Flair? London “bobbies” might want to be on their toes while providing security.

And the heat continues to be turned up in both the tag team and Divas divisions, as contenders jostle for position. With Paul London & Brian Kendrick, Ashley & Mickie James and Carlito & Santino Marella earning wins on Raw, plus the return of the dangerous Cryme Tyme, should Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix and World Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes & Hardcore Holly be watching their backs?

We’ll find out all the answers to these questions and more as Monday Night Raw airs live from London, England at 9/8 CT, only on USA Network.

And for Raw's return from England on April 21, WWE invites Democratic Presidential nominee hopefuls Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama to settle their differences inside the ring.

HHH's Future/SD?:

With the 2008 WWE Draft Lottery approaching, head SmackDown! writer Michael Hayes is looking to move Triple H over to the SmackDown! brand. Hayes wants Triple H to work as a heel in a main event program against The Undertaker.

There are not many within WWE that expect Triple H to make the jump. There is still a stigma that SmackDown! is the "B" brand and Triple H has been against moving to Smackdown! in the past.

The Observer also notes that Triple H does want to turn heel, but he's looking for a WWE title run on RAW.

- The Big Show vs. The Great Khali was officially announced for WWE's 4/27 Backlash PPV, during tonight's Friday Night Smackdown.

- WWE.com has announced that Matt Hardy will challenge MVP for the U.S. Title on 4/27 at Backlash.

- *SPOILER* SD! Storyline Revealed:

WWE is doing an angle on their web site which will see Deuce & Domino dump valet Cherry, and will be hooked up with Maryse.

- Next week's Smackdown in New York City will be SATURDAY 4/19 at 8PMþ.

- Wrestlemania XXIV set a live gate record of $5,854,590, which beat last year's $5,380,000 at Ford Field in Detroit.

- When WWE heads to Houston next year for Wrestlemania, keep the name Paul Boesch in mind for the Hall of Fame. Boesch was a long-time wrestling promoter in Houston. This year, WWE inducted Eddie Graham when Wrestlemania was in Orlando, the long-time Florida promoter.

SD was really average. The Main event was really great though. It sucks that Festus was in the Triangle hold for such a long time. He got nailed.

SD is becoming increasingly boring though. I wonder who ReyRey will feud with when he gets back. He'll probably f*ck up Big Show somehow but i cant see them doing too much in the way of long battles and such.

Thing is, even if HHH goes to Smackdown to become a heel, I just can't see him as a heel, he's got himself in that position that no matter what he does he'll be liked and cheered on, so the heel role will be kinda redundant.

If they want to improve Smackdown (which in my opinion is good anyway) then bring back the Cruiserweight title and give it a little more class, as it is there is only the Heavyweight title that everyone seems to want to have.

True. Plus he's been a "baby face" for a while now. So it's going to be hard for people to just dislike him now.

I still think, seeing him as a "heel" would be cool, since he hasn't been in a while. Also, has Taker ever been a "heel"? I believe he has in WWF once, but thats it.

Yeah, Taker was a heel. Remember when he made JR kiss Vince's ass? That's when he turned heel. He said something like "I've been kissing this man's ass for years!"

Any word of Lashley's decision to either go to MMA or TNA? Or am I late? Don't really care for him just interested is all.

Taker was a heel for his first year in WWF. He was also a heel during the first B.O.D. run in 99, and not long after that in the Ministry of Darkness/Corporate Ministry. And his latest heel run was from late 01-mid 02 (during the change from WWF to WWE). So he hasn't been a heel in around 6 years now.

I knew he was once a heel. Just forgot when. Also, I remember he beat the sh*t out of Ric's son in the WWF, so it would make Ric mad enough to face him in the ring.

He's likely to join the UFC. But who knows what happens. He could go to TNA if he wanted. I'm sure they'd accept him.

*SPOILER* RAW Results

KOTR Returning

RAW today has announced that WWE will bring back a one-night only 'King of the Ring' tournament next week live on RAW. Next weeks RAW is a three-hour special.

The belief is that the whole tournament will be held over the course of the show next week, with all tournament matches being held that night.

The 1-night tournament will feature 8 participants from all 3 brands. Expect the winner of the tournament to take over the "royal" gimmick that King Booker used after winning the last KOTR tournament.

- The Floyd Mayweather vs. Big Show match at WrestleMania was intentionally booked to keep the door open for a return match between the two.

- Stephanie McMahon-Levesque has become less and less involved in the day-to-day creative team meetings for WWE as she has in the past. ProWrestling.net reports that she now relies more on lead writers Brian Gewirtz and Michael Hayes more than she has in the past.

She is said to be getting more involved in other areas of the company, but is spending more time with her daughter and getting ready for her second child who is on the way.

There is said to be a lot of frustration in creative due to the increased workload. The frustration isn’t necessarily directed at Steph, but the workload is started to get to people.

- Big Daddy V has now definitely been told by WWE to lose weight.

Kurt Angle Injured?:

Former TNA World Champion Kurt Angle is said to have been pretty "banged up" following his match against Samoa Joe last night at LockDown. Mike Jonson of the PWInsider website said that he believes Kurt was actually knocked out briefly during the match.

Kurt arrived at the hotel last night with an icepack on his neck. Karen arrived at the hotel before him and told fans that he would be unable to sign autographs and take pictures, selling his injuries.

At this point I wouldn't say that Kurt is "injured" but he is definitely feeling the effects of the MMA-style match that he pushed for. He is scheduled to face Samoa Joe for a rematch this weekend with Northeastern Wrestling in Newburgh, NY.

God, these diva contest piss me off so much. It's a freaking waste of time. And on all brands, they do it on ECW. Which is only a one-hour show.

This should be done on RAW or SD. Not ECW.

You could at least have them wrestle, like they do in RAW/SD.

WWE SD! Taping Results <4/18>

ECW on Sci-Fi Results

TNA iMPACT Taping Results (4/17)

KOTR Update, Lashley/MMA, More:

WWE's official site has removed the graphic promoting next week's King of the Ring on Raw, which led to speculation of Chris Jericho, Umaga, Shawn Michaels, CM Punk, Batista, Big Show, Triple H, and MVP being participants in the tournament. In the old graphic's place is a picture of the King of the Ring throne briefly shown on Raw last night. The preview for next week's Raw still mentions CM Punk, Finlay and Mr. Kennedy, so it looks like the tournament will feature those three wrestlers at the very least.

After a number of WWE & TNA wrestlers got together at a TGI Friday's in Orlando on 3/28, about a dozen WWE wrestlers hung out at the hotel in which the TNA stars were staying at until 5:00 a.m. or so.

Bobby Lashley has been training for MMA as of late. He's been training in both Colorado Springs and San Jose. It is believed that he'll go public with his plans in early May when his 90-day no-compete clause with WWE expires. Lashley is also free to go to TNA when the clause expires.

Ted DiBiase, Jr. is expected to be called up to the SmackDown roster in the near future.

Mayweather's Future w/ WWE:

In regards to Floyd Mayweather’s future with WWE, the finish at WrestleMania was obviously booked to leave a major door open for a return, but having him work a ‘B’ PPV show isn’t a good financial decision. Up to this point WWE has not spent any money on Mayweather merchandise, nor has there been any publicity in that direction. WWE’s next major PPV is SummerSlam, which Mayweather couldn’t do more than a cameo for, if that, because he’ll be training for De Lay Hoya.

There is talk about Survivor Series and Royal Rumble, but Rumble would be most likely for a Mayweather appearance since historically it’s been a big money show.

Believe it or not, the most lucrative celebrity appearance prior to Mayweather was when Dennis Rodman joined the NWO in WCW. They got a big buy rate and tons of media from him just making an appearance, and then got an even bigger buy rate out of him doing a match, and then did an even bigger PPV buy rate once again when he did the tag match with Karl Malone. However, when they brought him back the fourth time it noly made any impact on the numbers and had next to no media coverage.

Floyd already made his two PPV appearances and his face was on RAW for weeks. If WWE can get De La Hoya, who they wanted for WrestleMania, later on then they will definitely do some huge numbers, but without him they likely wouldn’t be able to justify paying Mayweather anything close to what he got for WrestleMania 24.

Jeff Hardy's Return, More:

On March 11th, WWE announced Jeff Hardy had violated the company's Wellness Policy for the second time and would be serving a 60 day suspension. It now appears Hardy will be making his return to action at a house show in New Mexico on June 20th. The Pan American Center is advertising the following matches for the RAW brand house show in Las Cruces, New Mexico on June 20th: John Cena vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Championship, DX vs. Umaga & Snitsky, Chris Jericho vs. Mr. Kennedy for the Intercontinental Championship, Jeff Hardy vs. Lance Cade, and Hardcore Holly & Cody Rhodes vs. Santino Marella & Carlito for the World Tag Team Championship

WWE has banned photographers from ringside at television tapings. The company feels they are showing up too prominently on HD broadcasts, so they will now have to shoot from the area where WWE sets up their stationary TV cameras. Photographers will still be allowed at ringside for house shows.

Bobby Lashley + Goldberg = Tag Team?, Joey Styles Leaving ECW

AAA out of Mexico will be holding a big event called TripleMania on June 13 at Los Palacio de los Deportes and they are trying to get Bobby Lashley & Bill Goldberg to work as a heel tag team at the show, reports the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The event will feature talent from TNA and NOAH. AAA is trying to get the event on pay-per-view in the U.S. and their American contact is a big Goldberg fan. AAA plans on making a play for Goldberg, but Goldberg has said in the past that he's retired. Lashley is actually open to the idea of teaming up with Goldberg. Right now, Lashley is training for MMA. He recently signed with Zinkin Entertainment Co., an organization that manages a bunch of MMA fighters.

Internet reports of Joey Styles' departure from the ECW broadcast table were confirmed as it was announced at the top of tonight's show that Styles would be leaving the program in favor of a job heading up WWE.com. Styles said he's going to deliver more of what the fans want on the website. Styles introduced Mike Adamle as the new play-by-play man for ECW. Styles called the action during the first segment, but left the broadcast booth when they went to a commercial break. Styles will not be headed to SmackDown! and Mike Adamle will now be announcing ECW with Tazz. He is now going to be part of WWE.com in some sort of way. This is unreal.

RAW Tour Bus Smashed:

From Fitzy p: Just thought that I would let you know of an incident that happened after the Raw show in Nottingham England on the April 13. There was a crowd of around 100 fans waiting for the tour bus to leave the area. Once the buses started coming out there were a few crazy fans that ran after the bus up the street. Next thing I hear a huge bang, we walked down the street to find one of the buses in the middle of the road with a completely window shattered. Two huge security guards came out of the bus looking for the guys who did this obviously pissed. Next minute Cody Rhodes runs off the bus looking round as well looking very angry. Chris Jericho came to the bus door looking understandably very pissed off. They stayed there for around 5 minutes.

KOTR Update, Bobby Lashley's Training: Will We See Him Soon?, More

WWE has now decided not to reveal the participants for Monday's King of the Ring tournament yet. The eight wrestlers shown in a graphic for the tournament on WWE.com last night (Chris Jericho, Umaga, Shawn Michaels, CM Punk, Batista, Big Show, Triple H and MVP) are not the official participants.

Bobby Lashley has been training in both San Jose and Colorado Springs for MMA in recent weeks. It appears he is leaning towards MMA, even though, he would be allowed to sign with TNA, when his WWE 90-day non-complete expires in early May. Lashley will likely make an announcement about his future at that time.

There is talk about trying to get a hold of Snoop Dogg for another appearance to continue where he left off with Santino at WrestleMania 24. WWE is said to be happy about all the promotion they got from hip-hop radio stations because of his appearance.

Why Styles is leaving ECW:

To the surprise of many (including WWE talent) the announcement was made backstage at yesterday's ECW/SmackDown tapings in London, England that Mike Adamle would replace Joey Styles full time as the play-by-play man for the ECW brand. It was later revealed in an announcement that was included on last night's ECW on Sci-Fi broadcast that Styles would take over as the "Head of WWE.com." In reality, the official WWE website will still be overseen by Brian Kalinowski but Styles will assume the managing editor role similar to what Michael Cole used to do for the website.

From what I understand the move was not made because of heat on Styles but is rather due to Adamle's hefty contract. It is believed that Adamle is making in excess of $300,000 a year and officials within WWE (including Vince McMahon) felt like he was not being used enough for his price tag. Furthermore the feeling internally is that the official WWE website is struggling and they need someone with Internet experience. Prior to his stint with WWE, Joey Styles was the co-owner of the original ECW website (formerly located at ECWWrestling.com) and the 1Wrestling website. With Styles having a lot of knowledge in the Internet field, the company felt like he would be a good man to help improve the website which has become a significant piece of WWE.

Styles will not only continue to travel to ECW/SmackDown TVs each week but from what I understand, he will also travel to Raw on Monday nights. Styles will be based out of an office at WWE's Corporate Headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut.

Samoa Joe Contract, Dispute over Name/Character:

Samoa Joe's TNA contract status has been the subject of discussion for several months. Last week, Joe took part in a media conference call and said that his TNA contract was expiring soon. We can confirm that Joe's comments were intended to play into the TNA storyline that Joe was unhappy with his TNA deal. Samoa Joe is signed to a long term deal with TNA. There was a recent issue with the copyright and trademark over the Samoa Joe name though. Joe bought the rights to the name himself, but TNA wanted to have ownership of the name. So while this led to discussions about how to handle the situation, there was never a fear that Joe would leave. The two sides have reached an agreement, with Joe retaining ownership of the name. Joe has been using the Samoa Joe name since before he came to TNA.

PWInsider.com reports that an issue did arise recently surrounding the ownership and usage rights of the Samoa Joe name and character. Joe owns the name and character, however TNA wanted to have exclusive rights to license the name in the future. This would prevent Joe from going to another company in the future as "Samoa Joe". This issue has come up with the company before - with Low Ki (changed to "Senshi" in TNA) and Amazing Kong (now "Awesome Kong" in TNA).

The dispute went on for several weeks but has now been resolved - with Joe retaining the licensing rights to his name and character.

Lots of TNA Notes:

-- The new announcer, Lauren, was hired because SpikeTV wanted more women working backstage segments during iMPACT!. Speaking of women, it was announced at tonight's iMPACT! taping that all of the Knockouts will be participating in a "Makeover Battle Royal" at Sacrifice and the final two competitors will compete right then and there in a Ladder Match. The girl wins by grabbing the Knockouts title shot contract from above the ring. The loser of the match will receive a "Britney Spears Makeover" by having her head shaved bald.

-- TNA plans on making an announcement regarding the site of this year's Slammiversary pay-per-view at the end of the week. The event will not be held in Nashville this year.

-- The location of the Slammiversary PPV should be announced by the end of the week.

-- TNA will be producing a special limited edition commemorative piece in honor on his TNA title win for sale online. Don West is in charge of the product.

-- Chris Nowinski was at the Lockdown PPV on Sunday as a guest of Booker T who is on the advisory board of Nowinski's Sports Legacy Institute.

-- Many TNA personalities will be in Las Vegas for Midway Games' Gamers Day. The event will feature looks at many of Midway's upcoming games including TNA iMPACT!.

-- There a bunch of videos from the new TNA videogame produced by Midway online at GameTrailers.com, including a demo video of the actual game play. You can check it out here.

-- TNA is talking about keeping Karen Angle off TV for several months before coming back with a big angle involving Kurt. They feel that she’s a great performer but they have just spent too much TV time on her.

Well, I'm never watching ECW again. Joey Styles is one of my favorite commentators, and I felt that him and Tazz were a good duo, and helped make ECW bearable. Now they've got somebody I've never even heard of heading in there? No thanks.

Lance Storm?

Is Lance Storm forgotten by the WWE fans? Isn't he the greatest pure pure wrestler in the history of wrestling? He was badly misuse in the WWE though like when Hart was put on mid card in WCW while WWF use Bret as the guy who would run the show.

Anyway if u watch Lance Storm tribute on youtube, the announcer clearly state he is the best pure wrestler of all time, and I'm guessing Ric Flair is the best heal wrestler of all time then.

So what happen to Lance Storm anyway?

Lance Storm would have been more successful had he developed a personality. You can have years of amateur training, but if you can't cut a promo, no one will care. So now he writes blogs on the internet and complains.

And Lou Thesz was probably the greatest pure wrestler of all time, but not the greatest entertainer.

KOTR Update, Bobby Lashley's Training: Will We See Him Soon?, More

I don't think Bobby Lashlay will be back in WWE anytime soon if ever again at all because it seems that they parted on very bad terms which would also explain why no one still knows the exact reason why he left in the first place which probably means WWE allowed him to leave on the understanding he wouldn't be allowed to talk about his reasons for leaving.

I have read on many sites since he left that he is more interested in attempting a career in MMA but UFC has said they don't want him because they signed Brock Lesnar and don't want to be seen signing a load of ex wrestlers to their company but Kurt Angle and Booker T who are Bobby Lashley's best friends in the wrestling world have been trying to convice him to join up with TNA as he will also be able to do some MMA whilst being with the company much like Kurt Angle is meant to be doing himself so Bobby Lashley would make money from both wrestling and MMA added to his pay off from WWE.

As for the King of the Ring although it says that the people pictured on the image are going to be the paticipants i'm not convinced they will be as people like Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Batista and The Big Show won't really gain anything from winning it and nor would Chris Jericho or Umaga in reality which would leave only CM Punk and MVP as possible winners so i think it would be more likely that we'll see three or four other people not in the image taking part like Mr Kennedy, Finlay, John Morrison or Carlito taking part instead of people like Shawn Michaels, Triple H, The Big Show and Batista

Yeah, the Batista/Taker match was good. And next week they're going at it again, but for the WHC!

They're likely gonna make Taker win, and face Edge since Batista already has a match at Backlash against HBK.

Yup. I can't wait. Imagine Batista actually wins it.

Oh, and thanks man.

^ Yes, I actually forgot all about Batista and HBK. So no, there is no way he's going to have a match against Edge for the WHC.

Sadly no news today. Just a random question I thought I'd ask: if you could make a type of match what would it be?

Slobber Knocker!! Definetly. Its from SvR '06. You pick a character, im usually Undertaker, and then all of the other superstars come in one after another and you just have to smash then up as quickly as possible, pin them and then the next comes in. You can go on forever if you are good enough, some superstars come in more than once. My best is 56 pinned or KO in 58.26sec. (Yea thats right, nearly 1 superstar a minute)

Elimination inside Hell. An Elimination Chamber inside the Hell in a Cell. You have to pin all the opponents inside the chamber before escaping onto the Cell, in which a fresh superstar awaits for the final battle. biggrin.gif
