Can't believe I've never posted in this thread in all the years I've been here, but many people probably don't know (actually I don't think anyone does) I'm a huge wrestling fan from way back. I was one of those Attitude Era kids, but I stopped watching religiously after 2006.

 

I've only watched it on and off since then. However out of curiosity I watched the Royal Rumble and decided to see the aftermath on RAW. I can't even remember the last time I done that. It was a little strange jumping back into it after so long. I've been trying to familiarise myself with today's stars. I mean I'm from an era where Stone Cold and The Rock ruled the roost.

 

It was pretty cool seeing AJ win his RAW debut against Jericho too.

I didn't take that long of a break before deciding to give the Rumble and the RAW after that a chance.. but I definitely haven't been watching the product in a long long time.

 

Likewise I'm glad I decided to give it a chance, with all the injuries going on from my favorite guys in the roster; it's a huge surprise that they were able to still pull a great show it shows that there are lots of talent in the locker room that don't normally get the spotlight.

 

Also I'm still waiting for them to release AJ's damn theme! Please! I love DMX

Roman Reigns vs HHH For the WWE Championship and if Roman wins The Authority are out of business and if HHH Wins Roman is fired

I started watching wrestling as far back as I can remember. Born 1996, i missed all the great stuff, but the Ruthless Aggression Era was good enough for me. However, 2009~ i stopped watching, i really didn't like Cena. Since then, on and off, i've been tuning back in and out since 2011, CM Punk's pipe bomb. One person in particular who inspired hope for me was Bray Wyatt, i'm a fan of the spectacle of WWE, and Wyatt brought that back. However, after he fought Cena in Payback (i believe), where most people said he "buried" Wyatt, i tuned out again. Recently, i decided to tune back in for the Royal Rumble, this is the PPV i usually tune back in for. It was alright, good enough for me to want to continue watching. I'm just sad to see what happened to Wyatt. I didn't notice this during the Rumble, but upon filling myself in, i've noticed how far he's fallen since Cena. How do people feel about Bray these days? I see a bunch of YouTube comments on WWE's YouTube, which is nothing to go by really, but they seem to dislike him now. How do you guys feel about Bray? Hopeful for his future, too far fallen to get behind or never liked him to begin with?

Just read that the plans for the Rumble were changed mid show. It was originally supposed to be reigns and HHH at the end, but because of the crowd booing Reigns they knocked him out and had Ambrose in so they wouldn't cheer for HHH against reigns. I hope crowd reaction can change the outcome even more. boo reigns out-of the stadiums.

Other than when the crowd learned that it was AJ Styles entering at #3 I think the crowd got the loudest when H eliminated Reigns lol

I'm hoping for Daniel Bryan to come back so he can replace Reigns in the Triple Threat and and then Reigns faces HHH for the title because HAS A REMATCH CLAUSE

Forget about it. Brock is in there to bring interest but he'll be "taken out" by the Wyatts and in the ring, Ambrose will only be there to take the pinfall. It's pathetic how predictable this sh*t is. Ambrose is nothing more than a pawn in their game, it should be clear as f*ck by now.

Really sucks because I see so much potential in Dean. He gets pops as one of the most poorly booked faces in recent memory. Imagine how things would have been if HHH jumped out of the ring at RR and Dean became the corporate heel.

If no one likes Reigns, why he is getting all these pushes? I think he's alright - he can do a killer spear. The superman punch is lame though.

 

Also, I been out of the loop for a long time(I only got back into the WWE because I can watch AJ wrestle again..) but why they change the Royal Rumble? Is it no more, last man = go on to Wrestlemania to face champ?

That was just for a storyline this year. Not a permanent change.

Not sure how they'd dig HHH out of the Mania Main event, and not sure who he would face if they did. Also I'd be pretty shocked if that certain someone was back before 'Mania. Cena, on the other hand...

Nah, you misunderstood, the Triple Threat would be Reigns, Triple H and Ambrose, with Rollins returning during the match to screw Triple H out the title. Some of the talk is having Rollins returning prior to Mania to build up his dissatisfaction with Triple H, which would lead to the screw job.

Same reason Cena got the pushes back in the day, vince cares about who HE wants to be the face of the company, not the fans. Heck, Daniel Bryan only got to main event wrestle mania because the fans basically forced wwe to. I assume you mean wrestle mania 28? I honestly didn't mind that match being the main event (as it was meant to be the "rock/hogan" of the 2010s). But they ruined it by making a rematch the following year. Seriously, the rematch itself could've been fixed by putting punk into the main event to shake things up a bit.

It was BS like that (making Cena the main event even when he wasn't the wwe champion) that made cm punk leave also.

It really shouldn't have. Even Taker vs HHH was more main event worthy than Punk vs Jericho. Rock vs Cena was the rightful main event because it was a once in a lifetime thing (at the time) and a spectacle, being the Hogan vs Rock of this decade. And we all remember what happened when Hogan vs Rock didn't go last...

I couldn't see Bigass McStrongman against Taker to be honest, he'd be too tied up with the Wyatt v Lesnar feud if ask me. A better opponent for Taker this year would be Kevin Owens.
