Jerry Lawler's had some close calls lately, thankfully he's been coming out on the winning end on them.

 

Used to really like his Attitude Era and Ruthless Aggression Era commentary when he was a solid corporate heel to Jim Ross's straight laced baby face announcer and when they allowed him to use the TV-14 guidelines, but his jokes went from corny but funny to corny but stupid when they made him tone it down during the PG Era.

This is a random question, but what do you guys think of Seth's reign? Has it been good? Is it weird that I haven't liked the reign, yet don't want him to lose it? Anyone else stuck in that gray area?

I've generally enjoyed it. I don't buy into the theory of Rollins being responsible for the ratings, as they were creeping down at a steady rate long before he bacame champ, and it's pretty clear the real problem is the product as a whole. I also don't particularly go along with the belief that he's been booked "too weak" or "too cowardly". I think the booking has more or less been spot on, as it's managed to get him decent heel heat through the weekly Raws, while his PPV performances have (generally) kept him credible and kept peope longing for a face turn (ie- they havn't ruined him, and he'll come out all the stronger).

 

Plus, I actually love his trolling rambling monologues which regularly open Raw.

I feel like his reign has been a bit better as of late, because he's picking up some clean wins and getting stronger booking, while still maintaining his heel persona. He needs some better opponents to wrestle though, which is WWE's fault as a whole for not building up better workers to be top stars or at least credible enough to have a one off match with him where they take the L.

He reminds me of cabinet era JBL, always with his stable and retaining by any means necessary. I think I'm ready to see the guy turn face. That's going to be amazing.

I don't mind him doing the long winded RAW intro promos. I think it's a throwback to 2003 Triple H, he'd come out and speak for twenty minutes, yet say nothing important. Gets under your skin. My main problem is him being booked as a basic bitch who is a coward. I mean, look at him. He looks like he can kick some serious ass. Just my opinion tho.

 

I'd say Rollins as champion has been good, not great, not bad.

Not a bad Raw thus far. The matches have been fun and not an overexposure of Reigns this week as compared to last.

Aren't they already booked in a 1v1 Championship Match?

 

Also good on Ambrose for giving Renee his leather jacket, she looks good in it.

Yes they are in a 1v1, but not a traditional match, so they would be giving a faster of a traditional Survivor Series match to give people an idea of the match... People as in those who have not seen it and WWE want to sell the Network to.

Also, they've added a bunch of recent Ruthless Aggression Era Smackdowns from back when Smackdown was a great wrestling show. F*ck yeah.

They've added all of 2003 as well as late 2002 and the road to WM XX. All of Brock Lesnar's career is up as well as the entire Smackdown Six period. So many great matches, I've been "into" wrestling recently and that's all down to these retro uploads.

I don't hate Rollins, he just doesn't have the ingredients to be in the position he's in. Not very charismatic and dull as f*ck on the mic. Top that with a very stale character that needs an overhaul and a drop down the card to freshen things up a bit. Right now, he's like an inferior replacement of Randy Orton when he was the Authority's lap dog, only with his own little crew of jobbers. (are J&J still on TV?)

He's popular on the Wrestling pages I follow but there's definitely fading interest in his title reign.

If they let Rollins lose on the mic he could do more, but these modern promos that aren't from a guy like Cena or Rock just feel so overly scripted. Not to mention Rollins is clearly a better in ring worker than a talker but the WWE doesn't really care to highlight him as an athlete and show his in ring capabilities.

I honestly don't understand how anyone can dislike Rollins. He might be overbooked to sh*t but atleast they're overbooking someone who is amazing in the ring and alright on the mic. You can't complain about Reigns and Rollins in the same sentence like your complaining about the same thing. They're both polar opposites.

Rollins tore his right ACL, MCL and medial meniscus last night in Dublin Ireland, out for 6-9 months, holding a tournament at survivor series, to decide the champion. I hope reigns doesn't win, and that really sucks for rollins. Appears to be a botch off the top ropes.

Well, that's not good. Even if I'm fatigued by his presence atm, this is terrible because he'll also miss WM32.

 

Holy sh*t @ all the absent stars. Bryan, Orton and Cena are all out with injury or other reasons, now Rollins who they've put all stock into for the past year joins the list. I guess they will pull the trigger on Reigns as champion at SVS because there's no one else unless they go ahead with Sheamus.
