Yeah. WWE's the only company that wouldn't run with a guy who's organically over while trying to (and failing to) manufacture a guy who's non-organically over. At least Cena did manage to become organically over with the Thuganomics character from 2003 to 2005, just go watch his 2004 and early to mid 2005 babyface stuff, Cena was getting huge pops from the crowds on a regular basis. They just started to turn on him once he was oversaturated and his character changed dramatically. Reigns on the other hand has never been that over with the crowds.

Reigns only got reactions because WWE made the crowd do so by pushing him intensely as the "badass" guy in The Shield who would come in with his two moves after the other two did all the work. They even had me fooled for a while. Then he went singles and has been so badly exposed that it amazes me they were so stupid to give him the WM push. Even if they don't want to push Bryan in that spot, is there any explanation as to why Cesaro isn't in Reigns' place? He's not only more talented, he's also a big man who has "the look" they are so obsessed with. Sure, he's no pretty boy like the Samoan hack but he looks tough and badass.

 

It's too late to change it up, so I'll just be here waiting for the WM main event to flop worse than Goldberg vs Brock did 11 years ago and laugh at this company and their pathetic attempt at making it up for the fans when they were given warning signs way ahead.

What I mean is, if Goldberg's music hit, I would mark the hell out. But I'm not sure why exactly I mark out for him because he just punches , spears and jackhammers

Yeah. Vince is just out of touch. Go back to the podcast with Austin, he says he wants a guy who can verbally connect with the fans, yet that's where Reigns has struggled the most. Vince won't admit this, but he's just pushing the guy based off his looks. The sooner Triple H gets behind the wheel and takes control, the better.

 

The Lesnar-Reigns match definitely won't get a ton of support from the fans, not sure if it'll bomb as badly as Goldberg-Lesnar, I would love to see that happen though with both guys getting rejected or with the crowd cheering for Brock instead of Reigns.

I think it'll do better. Only reason Goldberg-Lesnar bombed is because both were leaving, so they bullsh*tted the match.

Goldberg is a standup genuine good guy. That's one of the reasons people like him.

With Roman Reigns I'll go with a Nation of Domination comparison. The Nation of Domination was originally supposed to be a group for Farrooq to be the break out star but since The Rock got over with his charisma and what not they changed plans and he became the guy. With Roman Reigns and The Shield it's like if they still decided to push Farrooq even after how over The Rock was getting.

I don't think the NOD comparison works considering Farooq was the veteran who one of the members would take down as the face coming out (was meant to be D'Lo I heard) but then The Rock got so over that they pushed him and made him the leader. Reigns is not really comparable to anyone because there has never been such a forced push in the past. Not even Del Rio and Sheamus were handed Wrestlemania moments like this, not even taking into account that they both at least have talent.

Well nope again WWF pulled the plug on the Luger push before he joined Dubya-See-Dubya, as they realized that the "All American" patriot angle they had with Hogan was basically finished along with the Berlin Wall coming down and ending the Cold War. Because at that time, like recently, there wasn't huge support for the first Gulf War, and at that time WWF were starting to look global, so a patriotic American angle wasn't marketable to the international audience... plus Luger sucked.
