I think the rumour I read about Kennedy winning and beating Taker for the WHC in the coming year is very likely. Kennedy definatly has the potential to be pushed into the main event bracket. If he didn’t win I would want Orton to win, its been a while since he was put in a feud with the champion and maybe its time he won his second world title.

Arnold Skaaland passes away.

“Golden Boy” Arnold Skaaland, a WWE Hall of Famer and a member of the WWE family for over a half-century, passed away Tuesday at the age of 82, with his wife, Betty, by his side.

Arnie was involved in virtually every aspect of sports-entertainment, from grappling to managing to promoting. During the era of the World Wide Wrestling Federation, Skaaland was a stockholder of Capitol Wrestling Corporation, and a producer of live events at the Westchester County Center.

As a wrestler, Skaaland was fearless, taking on much larger men and always giving them a fight. In 1967, he and Spiros Arion won the now-defunct WWE United States Tag Team Championship. He also served as the referee for the famous 1962 match in Japan between “Classy” Freddie Blassie and Rikidozan.

Another generation of fans may remember Skaaland as a manager. He regularly accompanied Bruno Sammartino to the ring during his reigns as WWWF Champion, and later led Bob Backlund to the same title. Perhaps Skaaland’s most controversial moment occurred while managing Backlund; on Dec. 23, 1983, he threw in the towel for Backlund after the Iron Sheik trapped the titlist in the camel clutch – ending the clean-living kingpin’s long reign as WWE Champion.

Skaaland was a legend in all facets of sports-entertainment, and in 1994, he became a member of the first full class inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

RIP.

Can't say I remember Arnold Skaaland but its sad to see another wrestling legend pass away.

Smackdown seemed a bit boring to me, had some good matches -

Matt Hardy def. Mr. Kennedy

MVP def. El Grande Latte

MNM def. WWE Tag Team Champions Paul London & Brian Kendrick & Ashley

Kane vs. Daivari (No Contest)

King Booker vs. Undertaker (No Contest)

But it didnt really do much for advancement of stories. The onyl thing of note was Taker throwing Finlay at Batista!

Strange advertisement for the main event matches on Raw this week -

SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long has confirmed that next week on Raw, it will be WrestleMania reversal night. Both of the World Tag Team Champions, John Cena and Shawn Michaels, will face opponents from their partner’s WrestleMania past. John Cena will face Chris Benoit and Shawn Michaels will take on JBL. Which Superstar will step up on the quest for dominance?

This all seemed usual until I read the JBL part who had retired many months prior and hasn’t had any ring time for quite a while now. As good as HBK is at getting the best out of opponents to produce good matches, I think JBL is beyond him.

Wrestlemania don't look great this year but I'll probably watch it. Who else will be watching Mania?

Without a doubt. I watch every year. I think this will be a good year. Last year was great in my opinion. I don't know if they can top last years, but I think it will still be pretty good. Hopefully they gain a bigger fan base out of all this Trump sh*t.

I am dreading seeing Vince bald. From what they showed on the tron, Trump looks better bald than with that sh*t he has now, and Vince looks horrible. He looks like a f*cking turtle.

I always buy atleast two ppv's in the year, and those two are Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania, so I'll definatly be staying up late to watch it live this year. It doesn't look too bad, I'm looking foward to the Trump Vince stuff, they really built it up well.

I missed RAW this week sad.gif Taped it but haven't got round to watching yet

JBL = WIN

Everyone assumes that Vince will lose. I think it would be a shock if Austin actually helped Vince and screwed Trump. Wouldn't that be great?

Well, that is because odds are Vince will. The only way Trump would have agreed to lose his hair, is if he had already planned to shave his head anyway. Other than that, Vince is willing to part with his hair for the money that this angle will pull in.

Vanilla Shake

Well, I guess this means that WWE is going to have the next few WrestleMania's held in stadiums, as opposed to the smaller arenas they've used for the past 3 WrestleManias (XX, 21, and 22).

I don't really like watching outdoor wrestling events either. confused.gif

But sure enough, I'll still order this on pay per view.

Trump would never of agreed to the Storyline if he had to get his head shaved, and I doubt he wants his head shaved. As it was mentioned, Vince will give up his hair for the payday. Maybe it was Vince who wanted his head shaved anyway, it is getting quite thin now that he's getting much older. Has anyone noticed that Shane has lost much more hair than his dad? lol.gif

Also I think WM24 outdoors will be good. I always liked WM9 because it was set outdoors, that was the highlight of the ppv wow.gif

Ah yeah, those Christmas in Iraq WWE shows are terrible to watch. This year's one was broadcast in England and I got bored after like 30 minutes and muted it and did other stuff while sometimes glancing at it.

WM is right around the corner and hopefully everything will turn out good. There's no defining Hardcore Match on the card this year, so maybe, just maybe we'll see a very brutal MITB Ladder Match, with tables and chairs being used and stuff biggrin.gif I can see that match lasting about an hour! I hope they open the show with it!!

Ok with WM 23 being only a week away I think its time for some predictions.

I love outdoor shows in wrestling. Summerslam 92, Wrestlemania IX, Wrestlemania XIX, the Christmas shows could be good if they were more than just glorified house shows.

Although, if they were going to do an outdoor show, I wish they had done it here in San Francisco. AT&T Park (the Giants' stadium) is beautiful, and has great public transport access by ferry, cable car, and I believe BART, so that should make it easy. Plus, it's right downtown, and overlooks the Bay and the SF skyline. With this show in Orlando in their ancient stadium, it will be some time before they do one here.

Joey Mercury was fired today. The press release just said he was terminated immediately. He didn't even get the traditional "We wish him well in his future endeavors." I'm guessing he either a) failed a drug test (with a prior violation and a probe after the SI article, that's a definite possibility), or b) slept with Steph or a previously unknown McMahon daughter.

I pretty much agree with TonyZimmy's predictions, except maybe the ECW Originals could pull it out, and I'm hoping HBK gets the win.

Shame about Joey, I wish they had rebuilt his character after he completly shattered his face. They could of turned him face, Matt Hardy heel, who desperatly needs to turn heel, and had a good mid-card fued with them both.

Reason he got fired is probaly due to hardcore drug taking, and being caught by a road agent or higher up wow.gif Like Randy did, except Randy got 60 days or whatever suspension
