Tidbits of info, not too much to talk about..

> The Longest Yard featuring Goldberg, Stone Cold and Kevin Nash will be airing on TBS Friday, January 25 at 9 PM ET.

> WWE allowed UFC to use their footage to promote Brock Lesnar is because Vince McMahon sees the UFC as a completely different audience. While many do not agree, this is McMahon’s view.

Jeff Hardy's take on the Rumble this Sunday;

WWE Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy joined Brian Fritz of Between the Ropes this past Wednesday to discuss his World Title match against Randy Orton at the Royal Rumble this Sunday, interacting with the fans, his time away from WWE, and more.

Hardy considers his match with Randy Orton on Sunday night to be the most important bout of his career. “By far it is. As an individual single wrestler by far it is, because this is the closest I’ve ever been to being the WWE Champion. I would say that in itself makes it the biggest match of my career.”

Although The Hardy Boyz remain one of the most popular tag teams in WWE history, Jeff is proud of the success he has achieved as a singles performer and looks forward to headlining the Royal Rumble with Orton. “It’s real cool, it really says something for myself to be able to split from The Hardy Boyz and do good on my own. It’s built a huge amount of confidence for me to be able to do something like this. And my brother too, he’s done great as a singles wrestler; it really shows a lot for The Hardy Boyz that we can go our separate ways and still be successful. So I’m really proud of that.”

Many wrestling experts and insiders pegged Jeff Hardy as a future superstar near the beginning of the decade, but Jeff admits he was too mentally exhausted and immature to hold such a position at that time. “A lot of people saw me as being this huge star back then, but at the time I was just so burned out and tired of wrestling and I just had to get away from it for a while. And that was my feeling then, I just really didn’t feel ready for it. So I really did need to grow and mature with myself to be ready for a position like this, and the time away and coming back and having such a great return has really done a lot for me, and it made me feel ready for all the pressure that comes along with a position like this.”

Although he is currently one of the hottest performers in the business, Hardy says he considered hanging up his wrestling boots permanently following a 2003 departure from WWE. “When I first left I kind of did because I wanted to do stuff with music, but that never happened on the main field or anything. I still hope to do something with that, but really, that year went by and I didn’t do anything - I just enjoyed life and raced a little more motorcross and did music here and there and released myself from the spotlight for a while. It made me think that wrestling is what I have to do - it’s what I was made to do - and so, whether I like it or not I’m good at it, and I need to get back in the game and start kicking ass again. So here I am at thirty years old and in the main event at the Royal Rumble, so that’s pretty cool for me to be back in the spotlight of things. It still concerns you as far as the schedule and everything - you have to be one-hundred percent committed to your company, and that’s what I am now. But there are times when I still feel consumed and feel like I can’t do all the things I want to do, but I’m cool with that and I’m committed to that, so now that’s what I do - I wrestle and that’s it.”

Jeff compared his current WWE tenure to his original run with the promotion. “More than anything there were a lot of new faces when I came back. But now I have everybody’s respect again and there’s a lot of difference with the spot I’m in now, because you could say I’m one of the top guys and basically I was on my way there before but I never got to grasp it. And that’s probably the biggest difference, is being respected as a top guy and looked at as an older, more mature Jeff Hardy, and still with the good-kind-of-crazy-type mentality and the rock star kind of appearance. It’s a great spot, and I still feel confident walking into the locker room every day and everybody’s cool, and that’s probably the biggest difference is just feeling like you’re on top and on the way to huge things.”

Hardy has long been one of the most popular wrestlers in WWE, regardless of what position he has occupied on the card. Jeff feels this is due in large part to his dedication toward the fans. “Honestly … I go out of my way all the time at restaurants or whatever. If there’s a crowd out there wanting pictures or autographs - and sometimes it gets really annoying, naturally - but I put up with that a lot, because I remember what it was like to be captivated by seeing somebody that I saw on T.V. and just wanting to meet them and get an autograph. So, I never forget that and always try to go out of my way to make that a cool experience for them, meeting me and what not. I think it really goes a long way; when they go home and chat online about how cool I was and then fans will want to come and see me the next time and it kind of just builds and builds. So, I think you can never go wrong with being cool with the fans, as long as you can put up with the hassle of it.”

Well, Chavo just won the ECW Championship. This is f*cking insane. The WWE is just sinking and sinking...

What's wrong with him? Punk needed to title off him so he can eventually transition to a bigger brand and attain real success.

Nothing really. It's just that I don't see him as someone that can "carry" the ECW brand. You know.

Randy Orton vs. Jeff Hardy (WWE Championship Match)

  • Randy Orton retains the WWE Championship.

Rey Mysterio vs. Edge (World Heavyweight Championship Match)

  • Edge retains the WWE Championship.

United States Champion MVP vs. Ric Flair (Career Threatening Match)

  • Ric Flair leaves victorious.

Chris Jericho vs. JBL

  • Chris Jericho leaves victorious.

The Royal Rumble Match

  • Triple H leaves victorious.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also, I got this.

Updated Royal Rumble Card, Candice's Return Date, More

* Triple H vs. Umaga (Steel Cage Match)

* Jeff Hardy & Chris Jericho vs. Randy Orton & JBL.

* CM Punk vs. Mark Henry.

* Also appearing: Kane, Carlito, Santino Marella, MVP, Tommy Dreamer, Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes.

Great Khali

Mark Henry

Well, Chavo just won the ECW Championship. This is f*cking insane. The WWE is just sinking and sinking...

WWE made bad choices on releasing ECW originals such as Sandman and Sabu.

They even screwed up with Y2J. I was hoping he would become WWE Champion. Since I'm getting pretty tired/bored of Randy Orton always being champ now.

I'd say we've got about 2 months until Randy drops the belt to whoever wins the Rumble, so sit tight.

I can see it now...

WrestleMania 24.

Triple H Vs Randy Orton.

That would be epic. But aside from that HHH would win.

But if Batista wins the Rumble, then he'll want the Heavyweight Title shot again.

My prediction will be that Jeff Hardy will win the WWE title, and then when Matt Hardy gets back, they'll want a shot at the Tag Team, so Jeff can hold three belts.

I'm guessing either Michaels, Triple H, or Batista will win the Rumble. There aren't many big names in there that are babyface, and you know that pretty much every Rumble is won by somebody that's face. I know that there are 6 spots left, but seriously, these are three of the biggest names in the company, and they would generate a large audience if they were in the main event. I know Undertaker is in the match as well, but he won last year, so I doubt he'll even come close to winning this year.

w00t looking forward to the Rumble!

My money is on Undertaker...

SmackDown Yesterday:

Wtf was that submission Undertaker used?

To think someone actually Made Big Daddy V submit, and making him spit blood out of his mouth!?!

The bigger question to me is how the hell did Viscera finally get a main event push. He spent years as a low and mid-carder, as a member of the Taker's Ministry in the late 1990s and as one half of numerous tag teams. This is very Bradshaw-esque.

I've heard that the move is a modified gogoplata:

Interesting to see both Michaels and Taker using new submission holds so late into their careers. You don't see that often and it's good to see some innovation.

Viscera had to suck a lot of cocks backstage. Literally.

God dayum, RR tomorrow, I am excited! I can picture Jeff winning the strap and losing it within the next 4 weeks back to Randy, possibly the night after. Anyone else think it may happen?

Personally, I don't think Jeff is getting anywhere near the title. It's weird, it's almost as if they're just pushing Jeff Hardy because someone else that was schedule to get it got hurt or something and they needed filler, because he's really rising fast. As far as the Royal Rumble goes, I think Jeff's getting close to winning, and them having something somewhat controversial happen, and someone else putting him over the top rope (though I don't really have a clue/don't really care who wins the Rumble).

I have two things to say that don't really have a place in the current flow of conversations, so I'll just come out and say some things that I think are interesting.

#1. I was browsing Wikipedia earlier, and I was reading Randy Orton's page, and apparently he got dishonorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps earlier in his life. Ouch. I guess if it weren't for his father, uncle, and granddad (who all wrestled), he'd be living off the dole not being able to get a job at McDonald's.

#2. Bret Hart is/was/always will be awesome. I've heard the good, I've heard the bad, and I think it's a shame he's never coming back to the WWF/E. Bret Hart ftw.

Didn't he fall of the roof and died?

You're thinking of Owen Hart, Bret's brother.

Yeah, that was Owen, and that was tragic. He was coming up in the WWF at the time. Man, just imagine an angle around the time WCW/ECW was bought, perhaps with Owen and Bret on opposing sides, (of course, that's extremely circumstantial, given Owen had lived and Bret wished to continue working with Vince).

The reason Bret will never wrestle again, aside from his apparent resentment of the WWE, is the fact that he suffered from a stroke in 2002, which eliminated all likelihood of him being back in the ring.

oh.. My bad...

I'm noob, literally, only watched wrestling for about 6 months...

Well then, let me be the first to tell you that you've missed out on some good stuff. I know I'm a stickler for the past, but I really do think that wrestling is very stagnant now. The late 90s until about 2002 was awesome, but now I just don't get excited. I think somewhere along the line the WWE in particular lost its imagination.

I started watching around 1997 when I was 8, despite having the game WWF Royal Rumble for the Sega Genesis a while before that. I got into WCW and its whole nWo gimmick (that to this day I think is the absolute best angle ever), and then around summer 1999 when I realized they'd been sucking for awhile I switched to WWF, and got hooked on that for a few more years.

A couple of my favorite all-time wrestlers are Scott Hall and Sting. Both f*cking awesome, charismatic, technically sound wrestlers.

And I might as well throw in my favorite tag team of all time as well: The New Age Outlaws.

EDIT: And you know what I just realized? They're all involved with TNA now...hmm...

I know I missed the best, but it is still good IMO.

I watched wrestling as an 8 year old, when I couldn't fall asleep, but then the tv chanel that showed it, decided to show something else, and I forgot all about wrestling... Utill six moths ago, when I saw an ad on the web, about wwe, and then, I was simply hooked...

I started watching Wrestling when I was about 4, but that was British Wrestling with Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks, then a few years later I got into WWF Wrestling, the first Video I Mum bought (cause Sky TV didn't exist then and normal TV didn't show WWF), was Wrestlemania III (I and II wasn't on Video then), so that's some old school stuff there. I carried on watching and buying the Videos of the main events, as that's all there was, until about 94-ish and then kinda tethered off it for ages (School, Rock'n'Roll etc), and only really just got back into it, and I do have to say it's not the same and that's not some "Oo in my day..." thing, in those days yeah it was faked, but it wasn't as obvious whereas now it is a little obvious... but still it's good sh*t.

But I've noticed a few people say The Great Khali can't wrestle, but I remember Andre the Giant and he couldn't wrestle either.

But I was miffed last night as the hotel I was at didn't have The CW mad.gif (I thought the CW was a Broadcast Station) so I couldn't watch Smackdown.

New update guys.

Lashley Gone From WWE.com, Warrior Hires Security, More

-- Bobby Lashley’s profile has been removed from WWE.com although no announcement on his firing has been made by the company.

-- Thanks to Katelyn M. for sending this in: I was watching Bravo, and an advertisement for Project Runway came on, saying that for their next challenge, the contestants would be creating outfits for WWE Divas. The promo showed several of the Divas throwing each other around in a wrestling ring; I saw Candice Michelle, Layla, and possibly Kelly Kelly. The episode is slated to air February 6 at 10 pm on Bravo

-- TMZ is reporting that Ultimate Warrior had to hire personal security to follow him around everywhere due to all of the hate mail and death threats he has been getting over his recent comments about the late actor Heath Ledger.

Source

Ultimate Warrior deserves to be hated if his comments about the late actor Heath Ledger were negative.

Do you guys reacon The Undertaker will be using his modified Triangle choke more often or was it just a one off on Big Daddy cos he was too big for the Tri choke. My opinion is that he will use it more because he realises that it has more effect on his opponent cos Big Daddy tapped within seconds of it being applied to him.

Na, Mark is being a bitch cos his friend got beat up. Now, attacking, brutalising and damn near killing someone after they have just been through half an hour of being inside a cage, with an animal, before they lose their heavyweight title because they were ambushed and taken advantage of, that is to far.

I thought he just used blood packets. Any move that literally makes you internally bleed should be banned. A similiar thing happened to Kid Kash and the Pitbulls. He used a double team move with Noble and literally knocked out Funaki for a whole two-minutes. The WWE banned that move and had to resort to another one.

Is it just me or did I hear the Coach and Cole say it was a 40 man battle royal? In another segment Coach said,"To win the rumble you must get through 30 other man, and the person who wins it, really deserved it". Or something like that. I hope someone new wins the rumble.
