I actually read a rumor that Cena might be out longer then originally expected. Which I really, really hope is true.

Well the surgical scarring isn't healing up as quick as they thought so that is delaying the rehab part of his program, but that might be to do with the fact the injury was more than what they first thought so the surgery may have been a little trickier and aggrivated the tissue meaning the healing isn't as responsive.

 

Also Edge is back on Raw this week, apparently to do a promo for a new show he's got going on on SyFy, although I think there may be more to it than that, however the update to this is that he's also now been penciled in for the Smackdown tapings on Tuesday. Although Smackdown is on SyFy so that makes sense (Raw is on USA Network) my feeling is that he's going to be part of the build up on Monday Night Raw with a payoff on Friday Night Smackdown, obviously there will be no contact considering his medical history but verbally I think he's going to set a few things straight.

He's going to be on Raw to combat Monday Night Football, which shouldn't be too hard as it's San Diego vs Houston, and anyone who follows the NFL knows that Houston should pretty much have their way with San Diego. So a lot of people who aren't fans of either teams might tune in to Raw over watching a game that probably won't be too competitive.

Why did they announce this on Twitter and not on the actual show? It would have been an interesting surprised to see Goldust make a return. This could be interesting if they're going to go more into the whole McMahons hates the Rhodes family (Which seems to be true, that they just don't like the Rhodes too much.)

I agree with Shenmue. They should have put Orton in the ring and said that he'd be going against a "mystery opponent", Would have been much better, even if it may have been a bit predictable. I guess WWE announced this on Twitter to boost their media score or something like that.

 

This reminds me a tad bit of how they messed up Jericho's return some years back, when that guy was running with the torch and Jericho clotheslined him backstage and did his pose with his back facing the camera.

Even if it did take away the surprise, I'm still looking forward to the match.

It's better they announce something like this on Twitter rather then something like Rock or Steve Austin returning, but even WWE would realize how much of a bonehead move that would be. Also I think Orton will pull out the win, probably not clean but he'll get the W.

That could screw up things a little, although Dusty said stuff on Facebook or twitter, he's te GM of NXT so that knock things out a little there. Unless WWE have found a home for NXT on mainstream TV and ths could tie it all in.

 

But I'd probably even go for Edge interfering to get Goldie the win.

I'd work it this way, Orton has just knocked Goldust out of the ring at the neutral corner and he's looking down at him Edge gets in the ring at the other neutral corner and bounces at the turnbuckle as if he's setting up the spear, Orton turns round looking stunned, then realizes that Edge won't do it because he can't and starts to mock him and then Goldust will roll back in the ring and go for the roll-up 1-2-3.

 

EDIT: Some interesting news, a house show in Montreal Friday night saw Sami Zayn debut with the main roster guys against Antionio Cesaro (again a classic match) and Sami got the win, he also did last night paired with Bo Dallas (Booo) v The Real Americans and got the win again. Also from Friday night saw the return to action for Tyson Kidd who's knee injury looks to have healed up and he could be back in main action shortly. I'd expect Zayn to be promoted fairly soon as he's nearing a complete package and he could get around the Triple H edict of having to have a storyline geared up for him, as he could fit in so many ways.

It seems that Olympic Wrestling is is now reinstated at the 2020 Olympics. Even though I don't watch Olympic Wrestling, this is great for all the young kids who's life goal is to become an Olympic wrestler and win the gold and great for all the people who are fans of the sport.

According to reports, TNA Impact Wrestling star Kurt Angle was officially released from his rehabilitation center earlier this week.

There is no definite word on when Angle will return to TNA Impact Wrestling television, however he is currently featured in the advertisements for the Team 3D Academy event coming up on September 14th at the Melbourne Auditorium in Melbourne, Florida. The event is being presented for the “Hope For A Single Mom” charity.

Also announced for the event are current and former TNA stars Hulk Hogan, Devon, Garret Bischoff, Wes Brisco, Mike Knox, Samoa Joe, Sam Shaw, So Cal Val and Jay Lethal.

So, Raw was alright, should have had something great, whether it be a match or a promo. Instead we just got decent to good stuff, but nothing really memorable that will make me say "Man, I really got to get this PPV to see what happens." then again, when you have a match that sounds like it should be great like Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan maybe build up is a little less important. Either way, this company needs to give us more instant gratification by puttting more great matches on TV.

Honestly, in the back of the mind I'm hoping that Edge can return for one more match, they set up a possibility with him and Triple H and WWE's website has a poll asking who you would want to see Edge face if he had one more match. I know lol, I was shocked. It's probably because of the awesome Ladder match him and Edge had at Extreme Rules 2009. Maybe one day Jeff Harvey will be back in the WWE though, even though I do like him in TNA.

As much as it would be awesome to see Edge back for one more match, he'd be f*cked and from what I can gather he's wanting to focus on doing films (Straight "Edge" to DVD stuff) and other TV stuff. Plus he and Beth are apparently wanting to start a family as well.

 

Raw was averagely poor this week to be honest, The Bryan/Orton angle was not bad, but they're playing it that Bryan is going to get screwed again, it's that obvious, barring a hopeful swerve of Shane O'Mac returning. Goldust v Orton was actually a really good match, and it wasn't the younger Orton either it was the veteran Goldie who carried the match. The rest of the event was average but the crowd made it so much better. Cesaro v Santino was great ♫You spin me right round baby right round...♫

 

But the Turd coloured Raspberry this week goes to Del Rio v R-Truth... god that was painful to watch, obvious spotting, botches left, right and centre and no chemistry what so ever.

It's probably for the best that he retires, WWE has completely undervalued JR for the last 5 years. I always felt like he didn't get the treatment he deserved, but the last 5 years have pretty much been a slap in the face, I don't hate Michael Cole or anything but WWE putting him on Raw over JR shows that the company for some odd reason just doesn't like Good ol' Jim Ross that much. They'd never replace Jerry Lawler as the Raw commentator with some guy like Matt Striker or Josh Matthews.

Honestly, how the hell can Nash really hate on smaller guys when he is considered one of the worst workers to be a big name and is probably the biggest commercial failure as champion in WWE's history. Not to mention the fact that he's notorious for being one of the biggest offenders when it comes to burying guys backstage.

I was never entertained by the guy, he was just a generic big man, as opposed to a guy like Kane or Big Show who can actually work pretty well for big guys.

Kayfabe or not, calling Daniel Bryan 'vanilla'... wooft, that's too far.

 

To be honest I never got Diesel myself, we was very vanilla on the mic and although he's a big guy so you kind of expect it but he doesn't have gigantism as an ailment so he can't use the excuse he was a 'lumbering' wrestler.
