Anyways, on the bright side. Monday Night Raw is on tonight and hopefully they can get some steam going with the Daniel Bryan vs Randy Orton storyline. Did anyone watch Smackdown this week? If so what happened and what did you think?

Smackdown was a repeat of RAW, D-Bry pissed of HHH and the Shield and Randy beat the crap out of him while Big show looked on in anger

Hopefully the iron clad contract of The Big Show will come into play this week. I think they're slowing setting up for a match at Survivor Series between Team Daniel Bryan and Team Randy Orton.

Smackdown was quite good actually, it was very well paced and written, this is probably because the chief writer on Smackdown now was the guy who has been responsible for NXT for a good while and that has been tight and well paced. It wasn't just a repeat of Raw, yes they are continuing the Bryan v Orton angle but they'll do this for a good while now, keep in mind WWE don't just cater for the regular marks they also cater for the huge casual demographic who might not watch it religiously and only tune in every couple of weeks so they need to pace thing so people can catch up easily and then maybe get drawn into the show full time if the angle is good (which this one is).

 

Anywho Bad News Barrett strikes again, Henry was injured again at a house show last night, he ran to the ring to do a save on Bryan but pulled up with a hamstring problem, judging by hamstring issues in football (that's the round ball game not that egg throwing that goes on in American and Australia) then he'll probably be out for 4-6 weeks.

Originally the main event of Raw tonight was reportedly going to be a tag team match with The Shield vs. Rob Van Dam, Mark Henry and The Big Show, but now with Mark Henry injured I wonder if they'll replace him or just scrap the match all together.

Probably Show, Miz and Ziggler, they'll keep RVD in the WHC scene and probably away from the WWE Title scene so as not to make things too messy. A few ideas getting banded around are that Show and Ziggler will pair up (because Show and Miz have been there, done that) and The Miz may get involved in the US Title picture. Which overall would make sense as it would keep the group of Show, Miz, Ziggler and Bryan together on one side and then The Shield and Orton on the other, whether they elect to get someone in to be the 'political' leader of Bryan side to counteract Triple H on the Orton side remains to be seen, however HBK would be a logical choice, unless they swing it round that Vince changes his mind and backs Bryan.

He should do however Triple H has a big EGO. On that subject he probably will still stick around as apparently he's been getting back into ring shape again, a great swerve would be that Bryan gets Punk on side and then boosh "Curveball", despite Punks recent history, he brings in Bork Laser as a face to put Triple H down again.

 

However a little thought that has always passed through my head is that Bryan calls in the reinforcements which would make logical sense considering the recent history, in that Kane returns and because of their little teaser earlier this year he brings in big brother to help.

Yeah, Triple H needs to realize that if they just let Randy and Daniel Bryan go at it this storyline will be even better, but Triple H has still got it on the mic and can cut one hell of a promo, so it's better then if it was someone with the promo skills of Curtis Axel or Jack Swagger.

That was an interesting RAW. Can't believe Big Show went through with it. Cody Rhode fired, wonder where thats going, hes going to back of course but wonder how that stories being worked. I want to see who is going to snap and not put up with HHH. Next week RAW Edge will be there.....excited.

That's one thing that bugged me, why the hell hasn't that so called "iron clad" contract STILL not come into play.

Only read the review of Raw so far, Cody is off on his Honeymoon but I'm hoping when he gets back they'll play him as the guy who can do stuff and can't get fired, because he's not employed to be fired, which would be a good push for him. Whether they play on the fact his Daddy is GM on NXT who knows, perhaps not due to timing issues with NXT being Pre-Taped, but it would be interesting.

 

Edge coming back next week definitely won't be in a wrestling capacity or any physical capacity due to his medical past, but it will be interesting to see what side he falls on, he may do another promo like he aimed at Cena about a year ago but this time at Bryan, but then Edge can play the heel nicely.

 

As for Big Shows iron clad contract, it needs to be ratified by someone.

Wow, you are so behind Prommy. Although that Steel Cage match between the Hulkster and King Kong Bundy was great.

Also on the subject of all things current in the WWE, we have the whole feud involving Triple H, Vince, Steph, Orton, The Shield, Bryan, Big Show, Miz, Ziggler, Rhodes etc etc etc. Notice how someone is missing from the corporate side of things...Just saying.

Shane's running an apparently very successful business in China, he really doesn't have much reason to come back to WWE. Edge definitely won't be wrestling or getting in a brawl, but he's a great talker so I'm looking forward to seeing him cut a promo next week.

 

Cody Rhodes is going to come back and get the biggest push of his career, they're going to use this whole firing angle to say that when he's back he's refreshed, reinvigorated, focused and oh man is he PISSED at the McMahon-Helmsley faction.

 

Big Show still not using his iron clad contract makes me feel like I actually remember WWE's storylines better then WWE themselves.

Just caught up with Raw, and it was not bad, could have been better, but the booking was awful.

 

The whole Bryan/Show/Triple H angle, I can see what they're doing but it was clunky as hell, Show is good playing different roles but he's taking this a little too far, I get the whole anguish thing but he's doing it a little excessively. I get they are trying to play it that Show is broke and needs the job and one of the stipulations of his iron clad contract is that he needs to complete, however it has been done lame as f*ck and it's as if they are trying to put it across that it's not iron-clad it's basically toilet paper... seriously, that shouldn't wash and they are doing this as a "look people just shut up and ignore the gaping loop-hole in the storyline".

 

Anywho the main event was flat as a pancake because of that loop-hole, the only good thing is that it's going make Bryan more over when he gets his revenge. The rest of the show was average in that it was poorly booked, the Diva's thing was alright only because they showed AJ's pipebomb sans whining which made it better. The rest of the matches were so-so, however...

 

Cody Rhodes v Orton was great in that this is sparking off the curve ball that I didn't see coming in that Rhodes could well be the key in the whole angle, he's going to come back and he's going to kick up one hell of a mess, his promo was superb and full of truth as well. I've been a critic of Rhodes before but I don't mind eating my words on this one, it he continues to play it up like this then he's going to go far. I'm sensing some sort of sabotage will be the method of revenge, how they're going to play this one considering Dusty is the NXT GM is unknown, however since NXT isn't on mainstream US TV they may well choose to leave this bit out. I am thinking however that Rhodes may also be the sort of 'hitman for hire' for Bryan, since Rhodes can't be fired and they're obviously not going to go down the route of firing Bryan (which would be the obvious route).

 

However I still think they may choose to turn The Shield face as their main rhetoric was that they didn't like people getting things handed to them... which is exactly what Orton has had to him, so I do think that someone will remind them of this and therefore turn them face.

I was stupid enough to give the autograph to a friend, but we had a chat, my friends camera broke also.

He picked up on my accent not being american, so many people queued to see him, it was in a promotion before wrestlemania in a sports store in NYC. He genuinely seemed like he wanted to meet the fans, unlike a lot of the other wrestlers I got to meet on that crazy weekend.

 

Ric Flair was the most stuck up bastard of the lot/.

Faces can come in variety, like Steve Austin, Chris Benoit and Undertaker were all more aggressive then a Hulk Hogan or a PG Era Cena. The Rock and Chris Jericho are a lot more cocky and arrogant then a typical super hero baby face like Cena or Hogan.

After observing this, I lost lots of respect for Randy; him valuing a cigarette more than meeting fans.
