I wonder why Ryda got banned, and yeah, Ric Flair's son Reid passing away was quite heart breaking news. sad.gif

Why in the blue hell did Big Johnny interrupt the Rock on SMACKDOWN, he got what he deserved A people power, powered People's Elbow, try saying that five times fast

Why did Ryda get busted, I'm thinking all of his bagging of John Cena, and I'm only at least 8 post from being the 3rd most posted dude on here

Flesh-n-Bone

Sucks to hear that Reid Flair has passed away. This is at least the second wrestling death in less than a month after Paul Bearer. sad.gif

RIP.

As for Johnny Ace interrupting The Rock. I am hoping for too much but what if he forms a new "corporate team" with John Cena at Wrestlemania? A carbon copy of Wrestlemania 17 with Cena replacing Austin and Ace replacing Vince.

I don't think Ryda would have gotten banned for bashing Cena, it was probably for the stuff he posted in the confessions topic.

Yeah, it was a bit disturbing at times but entertaining as well.

Anyways, it'd be interesting to see Cena turn heel and make a faction with John Laurinaitis.

His posts mainly comprised of insults that pissed off people above him in a thread. He was a good contributor here, though.

And Flesh-n-Bone, I don't think Jonhy will team up with Cena, given his hate for him. How about a Triple Threat match lol?

Also, Batista anyone?

Batista being in attendance for the recent NXT TV tapings and shooting an interview for WWE’s upcoming Triple H DVD led to speculation among fans that he may be returning to WWE.

We can confirm that Batista has had talks with Triple H about returning. It’s said Batista wants a similar “big money” deal similar to Brock Lesnar, where he would work a few dates per year and for big feuds only.

No word yet on how serious the talks are but it’s believed Batista will have to settle for less than he wants if WWE is going to make

him an offer.

Gahhh. Of course batista wants return like lesnar. He gets to sit on his ass for everything except PPV's

Batista had said he'd like to return, but he also said it'd have to be after all this pg stuff blows over so he can wrestle the way he likes to wrestle.

Wrestling is amazing, especially the tight costumes.

On the women obvs.

Go spam elsewhere kid.

Smackdown was great, though I didn't watch the Benchpress challenge yet - which I presume it ended with Ryback "winning". The Rock segment was great only because Mr. Excitement is back! icon14.gif Never thought I would say this, but man I missed this guy. Also The Miz is great on commentary, and Show threw someone's drink at Reigns' head which [unfortunately] spilled all over the fans. What a guy.

Also RIP Ried Flair.

I think that's the whole point of it. That they planned this behind everyone's back and come out with it when Cena is at his most desperate. Will also get him the heat he needs as a heel in case smarks decide to cheer him.

Logic has no place in wrestling, so you might as well throw their history away as Vince himself claims that he doesn't even remember what happened 3 weeks ago. (and expects the same from us)

And I'm about to watch Smackdown now. Read the spoilers and the Ryback/Henry weightlifting contest made me laugh so I have to see it.

RKO VS Diamond Cutter VS Regal Cutter VS Bubba Cutter; what's the difference?

Just the person doing it.

Like Miz's new addition, everyone calling it Ric Flairs Figure Four Leglock, I call it Greg The Hammer Valentine's Figure Four Leglock.

Flair would attack the legs throughout the match, put his opponent in the Figure-4 and they would not tap; Del Rio would not attack the arms at all, suddenly put his opponent in the Armbar and they tap instantly. The heck?

At least Swagger seems to work his opponents ankle and leg to make it seem like he's wearing it down.

CM Punk opens the show in what hopefully is better than last week, but that wouldn't be hard. A good promo cut as well by Punk even the little "Talk of the dead" quip when ECW was getting chanted, even Heyman had to laugh at that. Then The Undertaker makes his appearance and doesn't even need to say anything, this match is really going to steal Wrestlemania this year.

Faaan-Daaan-Go-o-o doesn't even need to say a word and he's riled Y2J, in what could also be a surprise match at Wrestlemania, for a mid card match this could well be a good match.

Y2J v Ziggler

-Good match, the veteran vs the best seller on the roster, great back and forth action, Jericho is showing a lot of agility something a lot of folk at his age (says he not that far behind) don't have. Jericho takes the win and takes a Big E in the back for it, leading to Fandango to come out and mop up, which I have to say Johnny Curtis is quite agile and will probably surprise quite a few folk come Wrestlemania, puts me in mind of a more aggressive John Morrison.

Another backstage beat down by The Shield on Sheamus and then Randy Orton before The Big Show clears house. In what will most likely be Wrestlemania's twist match.

Henry v The Uso's

-Not a bad match but was really used as a show of strength for the upcoming Ryback match.

Del Rio v Cesaro

-Not a bad match, effectively it was Cesaro jobbing to Del Rio, and was more build up to the feud as Swagger attacked... although that boot by Del Rio on Swagger looked right on the money and a little too real.

Hell No v PTP

-Good match, although at times I do wish they'd pull the trigger on the Tag Division or split the PTP up, as Young is a little comical and Titus is really coming on nicely as a wrestler and would actually make a great heel with the right gimmick. Hell No win, which leads to the making of the Tag Title match at Wrestlemania.

Triple H comes out to talk smack about the match with Brock Lesnar... to be honest this setup is actually boring and isn't exciting me at all, even if Triple H loses, he's the COO and could reinstate himself kayfabe rulez ok, plus the crotch kick to Barrett was a kinda pointless.

Wade v The Miz

-Quite a good match and might not end up being the best IC title match at a Wrestlemania, but then stranger things have happened it might end up being the surprise match of the night.

Hell No and Kaitlyn inlove.gif talk smack about AJ inlove.gif which will lead to a match on Smackdown this week, and match later.

The Shield v The Job Squad (minus Gabriel, he doesn't job that often)

-Usual build up match, however it was indeed nice again to see the old Wishbone move again, that's twice in a week I've seen it. The Shield win and then Sh-Ort-Mus come out to inflict a beat down of their own.

A serious Jericho announces his match with Fanny-dang-ho at WM

The Rhodes Scholars v Tones of Funk

-Not a bad match and I have to say Tensai is working much better as a face, however it ended up turning into a brawl outside with Rhodes taking the win after the distraction.

Ryback v The Beibers

-If only it was actually Beiber, Ryback ended up looking weaker than Henry after the Beibers dominated the match for a long time, but I think that is the usual script they're following here. Ryback takes the win.

Kaitlyn v AJ 2 for 1 inlove.gif

-Kaitlyn ragdolled AJ a few times in this, or is AJ getting tips from Ziggler on how to sell. AJ took the win after Kaitlyn knocked herself out after spearing the barricades... I help her recover.

The rest of the show was that whole Rock/Cena thing with the legends asking questions, which frankly was a load of crap, again this like the Triple H/Lesnar match isn't grabbing me at all, and it's not because they did this last year, it's flat with no edge, least last year there was a laugh, this year they're going for the serious and it's not even serious it's dull.

NXT takes a partial break from the standard NXT fare due to the Wrestlemania season, so in effect this becomes a televised House Show. Plus we get The Fink as well... classy guy The Fink

Kaitlyn v Natalya - Diva's Title Match inlove.gif x2

-Damn you WWE for making me watch both of these gorgeous morsels in the same match. Good entertaining match which the Divas are really pulling off at the moment, hopefully this is the start of a revival in the Divas, not like that Tag Division revival we were supposed to be getting but hasn't appeared as yet. Both of these women are powerhouses and showed some real good technique and agility, Kaitlyn took the win unsurprisingly since it's not one of the 'recognised' main shows so a title wouldn't change hands at effectively a house show, not in this day and age.

Del Rio cuts a promo for Wrestlemania, nothing that special to add.

El Locale (looking fit for a 'broken ankle') v Brodus Clay

-Obvious who was going to get the win, although Ricardo made it tough and pulled off some great moves, but the match was short and Sweet-T.

The Shield cut a video promo and John Cena also cut a promo for Wrestlemania, a dull one at that as he was trying hard to make Tony Dawson laugh.

A bit of continuity when Kassius Ohno Shanghaied William Regal at the announce table, which is building up their feud nicely, and is actually a good feud going here and should spill into the main shows, as Kassius could fit nicely into the main shows and even the Main Event scene itself.

Sandow v Orton

-Good match and Sandow was awesome as always, the guy needs a proper push, hopefully after the Wrestlemania season he'll get that push. Good pop was received by Orton being the big star and Sandow still being the darling of FCW (now NXT). Orton took the win obviously, although it would have been nice if Sandow did.

Kane v Cesaro

-Right WTF... seriously WTF.... WWE stop the f*cking press... F*CKING YODELING BY CESARO... F*CK THE HELL OFF. In the words of Daniel Bryan NO, NO, NO, NO, NO. Abandon that thought process now WWE and never get Cesaro doing that again it's awful, if they are going for a change in direction with Cesaro then go the other way, a Hitman for hire look, either like The Hitman games or for that Leon look, but Yodeling, f*ck off. Kane won, but who gives a f*ck when they are getting Cesaro pulling of that sh*t.

Sheamus cuts a promo, blah whatever.

The Funkadactyls (with Tons of Funk) v The Bellas (with The Rhodes Scholars) - WM preview match of sorts

-The names not bad, could have been worse, not a bad match we didn't get to see Naomi pulling off her great moves as much as I'd like, but I think this was more of s showcase return match for The Bellas, who got the win.

The rest of the show was a review of that boring Raw panel thing with Cena and Rock.

user posted image

Kofi v Primo

-Not a bad match, typical mid card fare with both showing their aerial skills and pseudo-Luchadore style. Kofi took the win, considering he was IC champ not so long ago seems a bit strange to be languishing in the mid cards now. Hopefully this new creative shake up will pump some life into the mid cards and not make them seem like glorified warm-up matches for the big shows.

Aksana v Natty

-Good match here, again the Divas matches are getting better and better and showing up the usual mens matches. Aksana has some great skills and arrogance in the ring, would actually like to see her adopt more of that Eastern European darkness and team back up again with Cesaro if they pulled of a Hitman for Hire style with Cesaro. The lovely Natty pulled off the win with a sharp shooter.

The Rock opens with a new story about how Candy Ass came about... so that story about him getting Toblerone shoved up his cornhole isn't true then, not a bad story, still the part timer could have at least wrestled a couple of times in between the PPV's. The we get a return by Big Johnny... which incidentally could be a little more permanent, as he was given a reduced schedule and 'fired' due to burnout, I do hope however he's not in charge of scouting again.

Y2J v Wade Barrett

-Not a bad match was really Y2J just sending a message to Fandango, a story I heard was that Jericho wasn't keen on the idea, but he had a behind closed doors session with Johnny Curtis and liked what he did. Jericho wins and calls out Fandango, who comes out and then chickens out much to the joy of the "You can't wrestle" crowd.

POSSIBLE SPOILER: Advertised during the Jericho/Wade match was the European tour post Wrestlemania which has the following matches, a Triple Threat of Cena v Ryback v Punk and US title match of Cesaro v Truth. Could mean that Cena wins and this turns into a title match.

We then get a response from The Walrus about the Brock Lesnar v Triple H match, which was nothing but the usual fare.

For the international market a From The Vault which was The Glamour Girls v The Jumping Bomb Angels, which took place before the Bomb Angles took the tag titles at the Royal Rumble 88. Good match but the title match at the Rumble was better.

The Bench Press challenge between Ryback and Henry, could see where this was going and took me back to the Bench Press challenge by Dino Bravo again from the 88 Royal Rumble. Henry does his, Ryback does his then Henry pushes the bar down on Rybacks neck the weights fall off but Ryback is choked. What would have made this better is after Ryback got his bearing back he picked up the bar and marched on backstage to hunt Henry down. But they didn't confused.gif

Bryan and Kaitlyn v Ziggler and AJ.

-Great match, why, well AJ and Kaitlyn, what more can be said and then Ziggler and Bryan, two of the best workers on the show. Great wrestling by all involved and Kaitlyn took the win with her great Spear <insert comment about her Spearing me anytime>.

The Shield cut a promo about being a team and that Sh-Ort-Mus aren't

POSSIBLE SPOILER: A rematch of the The Shield v Sh-Ort-Mus match is scheduled after WM, as well as the WHC match as a no DQ as part of the European Tour.

Khali v Swagger

-Swagger won by count out, but Ricardo came out to distract Swagger so Del Rio could beat him down, Coulter held Del Rio's neck down while he had the arm breaker locked in, leading to Ricardo smashing his crutch over his back, usual build up, which is only really good due to Del Rio working much better as a face.

Backstage interview with the newly promoted interviewer from NXT, Renee Young, who looks tiny next to the threesome of Sh-Ort-Mus. Usual signs of disturbance from the three of them, but probably a work to set up the ending.

Sh-Ort-Mus v Rhodes Scholars/Cesaro

-Seriously WWE if I see that Yodeling next week I'll see me arse. Obvious winner is obvious, however I did like the appearance from The Shield and then Sh-Ort-Mus coming to meet them at the top of the stairs, near enough a proper old school lobby fight and I loved it when Big Show went to smash the drink over Reigns head and it went over the crowd, bet they didn't see that coming.

user posted image

Tons of Funk v PTP

-Good match with Sweet-T going back to the Albert trousers outfit, which looks much better. The PTP take the win, surprisingly, although it was by some cheating methods, the old Bobby Heenan leg hold move. to prevent the kick out.

Tons of Funk v PTP

-Nope not a type, the new GM Mick Foley comes out and says he can't restart the match as the refs decision is final, however he can order a new match starting right away. So obvious winner is obvious, Tons of Funk win to restore the good guy balance.

R-Truth v Cesaro

-Couldn't see half the match since a lot of Truth's moves are head shots or he does the groin pump which isn't kid friendly, Truth continues the faces win theme and takes the win with a Little Jimmy.

--------

Re-paste from above with extras

POSSIBLE SPOILER: Advertised during the Jericho/Wade match was the European tour post Wrestlemania which has the following matches, a Triple Threat of Cena v Ryback v Punk and US title match of Cesaro v Truth. Could mean that Cena wins and this turns into a title match, however it seems strange they are advertising this as other indications are that Punk will be taking time off after Wrestlemania. What else makes this interesting is Ryback... could they really turn Cena heel and maybe start a feud with Ryback, after him being eliminated at The Rumble. monocle.gif

POSSIBLE SPOILER: A rematch of the The Shield v Sh-Ort-Mus match is scheduled after WM, as well as the WHC match as a no DQ as part of the European Tour. Kind of standard rematch but seem strange they are doing this as a tour match not at the following PPV Extreme Rules, are they really going to de-push Swagger that quickly, plus wouldn't the police have asked that Swagger not leave the country until his case is heard. dontgetit.gif

It's hard to believe there is just one week until Mania, this just shows how terrible the product has become as I'm not hyped up to watch the show what so ever. All these big matches and WWE has failed miserably to build up any of them.

Same here, I seriously hope the matches are better then the sh*tty buildup. Last year I felt kinda the same way, the buildup wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. It was just mediocre, which is a good word to describe everything that the WWE does these days

Granted the eponymous match itself has always been my personal favorite, but I was more hyped for the Royal Rumble this year than I am for Wrestlemania.

What I'm about to say sounds like I'm contradicting myself but The Undertaker I see as a special case purely because of the legend that has been built up around him. But if you look at the big main event matches and who is involved, The Rock, John Cena, Triple H, Brock Lesnar, The Undertaker and CM Punk, a third of them, which is basically Punk and Cena actually wrestle throughout the rest of the year, the rest of them are part timers that only show up for the big events. If they actually wrestled a few matches prior to these events then I think we'd all be a bit more hyped and would actually invest any semblance of emotion into the event and the matched themselves.

If we take a look at Jericho he's come back and you could argue he's part time, which fine fair do's, but the huge difference is that Jericho, although probably not in the match he or us would have liked actually wrestles in warm up matches for the fans and as a result I'm more interested in the Jericho v Fandango match than I am for Triple H v Lesnar.

Here's my take on the interest I have on each match

Tons of Funk and the Funkadactyls v Rhodes Scholars and The Bellas

-Could be a good match, Sandow is a rising star and Naomi has skills that are very unappreciated it seems by the wider audience, the crowd interaction for all involved is good.

Wade Barrett v The Miz

-Could be a little damp for an IC match, but The Miz is actually a whole lot better as a face so this could end up a surprise

Jericho v Fandango

-Could be the diamond in the rough this match, I suspect we're going to be in for a treat with this one, Jericho is still a master technician and Fandango is an unknown quantity, but what I've seen of him as Johnny Curtis and his recent beat down skills, he could be a future main eventer.

Hell No v Zigg E Langston

-Bryan is a master, Ziggler can sell sand to the Arabs, Kane is a beast and Big E is an even bigger beast. This should be an epic Tag Team Title match.

Ryback v Henry

-Seems a bit put together, but it's a Hoss Fight so we're going to get some big hitting and strong moves.

The Shield v Sh-Ort-Mus

-The Shield have been impressive, and could well walk away with another win, this has had some good build up and I don't think this match will finish without Ryback having a say in it.

Del Rio v Swagger

-When Swagger came back he looked great then he got caught up in this We The People crap and his DUI didn't help, this will only be good if Ricardo gets involved.

Undertaker v CM Punk

-This should be another classic Taker match, it has had some unfortunate build up, but thankfully it has actually made the build up better, sad that it's happened this way but it is making this one somewhat special. Punk is going to throw everything at Taker and let's not forget Taker actually hand picked Punk for this match, so I'm guessing his training has been geared up to this match specifically.

Triple H v Brock Lesnar

-Could be Triple H's retirement gig, but the "build up" has been flat so I doubt it, least when HBK did it, there was months of build up this just looks cobbled together.

The Rock v John Cena

- yawn.gif , really not interested in this one at all, and it's not because I'm anti Cena (which I'm not anyway) or anti Rock. but the build up has been diabolical, they've tried to do serious but failed miserably. Last year was good as they built it up with some comedy this has had nothing like that, it's all been "woe is me", "aren't I the best"... just yawn.gif

Hopefully Raw does something tonight to get me a little bit hyped, but one show isn't enough to hype up a WrestleMania, maybe the matches will be great and make up for the terrible build up but we know The Rock doesn't have much stamina nowadays, so Cena vs Rock is going to have to have a lot of rest holds most likely, however Triple H vs Brock Lesnar and CM Punk vs Undertaker have the potential to be great main event level matches. Maybe Cena vs Rock II will be able to take me by surprise, but I highly doubt it.

I'm actually quite hyped for WM. It's a shame about the John Cena vs The Rock match since we all know who is going to win so I'm going to defiantly turn off Cena's celebrations.

Exactly my thoughts. I was very hyped for last year's Taker match, but this one...I'm not feeling it. And Taker didn't need to compete whatsoever to get the fans hyped for the match [nor the one prior.]

Pretty sure the mid-card matches [or rather any match other than main events] are going to be the most memorable - unless Punk won and/or Lesnar ended HHH's career.

One of the major problems I have with Wrestlemania 29 and almost every WWE event, is the predictability of it all, being unpredictable is something that fans have loved about WWE and loved about the Attitude Era, you never knew what would happen, who would win, who would turn face or heel and that's why it was so much fun to watch. Now you can almost guarantee at every PPV that both Cena and Sheamus will either go over with a clean win or lose with an incredibly dirty finish, there's no possibility that they'll win dirty and turn heel or they'll lose clean, especially to a heel. Oddly enough, what made the Big Show vs Sheamus match at Hell in a Cell interesting was A. Big Show with his successful history and his size seemed like a legit threat to Sheamus and B. Big Show went over 100% clean, 1,2,3 in the middle of the ring, everyone thought Show was going to lose but he didn't and that's what made it great, a heel winning clean and actually getting offense in without it being due to cheating.

You can probably blame it on the internet or the leakiness of the creative team and/or WWE execs, for releasing so much info via the internet. Although with any feud there is only so many outcomes possible they could still keep a lot of things quiet, and most of these will be suggested anywhere on the internet and some stick and some don't and the ones that stick sound plausible.

And it's not like they can't do it either they can, I mean who here didn't give a giddy cheer when Jericho returned at The Rumble, why cause they kept it so quiet and even weeks/months before diverted any attention by saying contract talks had broken down.

I mean I could make a prediction right now about Wrestlemania and might stick, but then might not, but others might make other predictions and they turn out to be true. So I'm going to make one and as a result of this could catapult a rising star even higher.

Mark Henry v Ryback

-Ryback wins after a brutal match

The Shield v Sh-Ort-Mus

-The Shield look like they are in for the win, the ref gets taken out and it's a free for all, until Ryback comes to the ring and beats down The Shield and allows Sh-Ort-Mus to win.

CM Punk v Undertaker

-The match is going on as usual, Taker is on top and is going for the win, the ref gets taken out, then lights out, banging and smashing going on everywhere, lights up, The Shield are beating down Undertaker, the Undertaker forces them back and then summons the lights to go out himself, banging and smashing going on everywhere, lights up, Ryback and Kane are in the ring beating the crap out of the Shield and forces them to retreat, Kane supporting his brother and Ryback still has unfinished business with The Shield. Once dispersed, they turn their attention to Punk and Heyman and beat them down, Ryback and Kane then disperse to go after The Shield who are trying to come back to the ring, then a grand finish Tombstone and Taker wins it after the ref recovers.

I'd like to see that, as it would give Ryback a much needed boost and would get him finally over The Shield.

Wow, until recently, I haven't watched wrestling since Eddie Guerrero (my favorite wrestler) died, and it looks like I missed too much.

Saw half of Raw, the part with UnderTaker and Punk was all that really stood out, that was pretty good. The rest of the show though?Eh it was alright. Very bad job WWE, the go home show for Mania should NEVER be, "Just alright."
