Currently watching every PPV in order since 1985 (Wrestlemania 1), I'm just about to start 1994. To be honest Wrestling ain't changed that much since then really.

I'm currently watching 1999 Raw is War, I've seen all the episodes from 1997 and '98 and I'm currently in the middle of April 1999.

 

Jeez Gareth that must be a lot of DVDs or hard drive space if you downloaded it to your computer.

About 2Tb of stuff, got a shed load of Raw, Smackdown, ECW, Main Event, SMS, Superstars, NXT, Are You Serious? and a lot of the 2008 onwards PPV's in HD, both 720 and 1080, although 2009-2010 are tricky to find.

 

As for the Tag Match involving The Shield, I wouldn't be surprised if we see some double duty stuff and interference from all involved, we could see Henry v Ryback, then later on the tag match with Ryback interfering and getting his revenge.

 

Will be interesting to see what that new guy will be like, although they got the report wrong, stating he would report to FCW, which was disbanded last year and replaced with NXT.

Yeah, I'm interested in seeing how they'll handle the Shield matchup and if we'll see RyBack interfere. Also if they'll have a stipulation for the supposed Henry v RyBack match it seems we're about to get.

I got 1Tb free and space for 3 more HDD's in my machine should I need more space.

 

There is also some interesting articles floating about the IWC about the big 3 main events at Wrestlemania, as it seems that the endings are so predictable that WWE are going to have to "swerve" one of them in order to make the show better. It already seems like Cena will win, Taker will win and Triple H will win, there is also talk that WHC title match might get bumped up the card so Ziggler can cash in the contract to a much better pop, which to be honest I'd much rather they swing it so the contract is either changed or clarified so that it applies to any title, so The Rock can win again and Ziggler cashes in on The Rock, that would be a swerve and a half.

To bad we don't have the creative geniuses running the shows that we did at certain points in the WWE/F's history. Now we have to deal with the highly predictable outcome of the PG Era's writers. Maybe the new head of creative will shake things up a bit though.

As someone who used to love wwf and wwe as a kid, I completely agree with you after what I see nowadays. I'll still watch it every now and then but it doesnt feel the same as it used to. The superstars are too interactive with the fans during matches imo and the theme isn't dark enough, as well as the lighting .

 

If I was writing wwe these days I'd do a better job at making it interesting if I'm honest. The fact they got rid of the blood the cells the cages and basically the weapons is very annoying when I try watch it, not to mention how they make 200-300+ pound men act like children (Kane & Bryan). Entertaining, yeah but I don't think anyone can disagree or complain to me about complaining because it really just isn't the show it once was worldwide and that is plainly and simply due to the pg era. Shame. Also, split the shows again amd do a draft, that was so much better than the unified shows. Ok I'm done.

It's okay to have some funny characters, but leave it to people who can do comedy like Daniel Bryan, The Rock and Chris Jericho and not to people who aren't funny like Tensai, Brodus Clay, Santino, Khali, ADR, John Cena (at least with his current gimmick) and most of all Sheamus.

 

Also, less characters who are based around comedy and more characters who can be funny but can also get serious when needed.

The promo between Cena and PTP was pretty funny, just for the fact that the crowd got behind PTP more then they did Cena, I don't understand why Cena gets a pop when he comes out and then gets booed for the rest of the segment : S, but yes the match was terrible.

 

Then a burial of Otunga, I hate Otunga but God WWE you can find a better use of 30 minutes of TV time then 2 burials

 

Next a "premiere" of Fandango, where he'll probably refuse to wrestle, this Raw is starting terribly. Yep, he didn't wrestle. Crowd chanted you can't wrestle. Good crowd, sh*t Raw.

So to recap, two burials and another "almost debuted" FAAAAAAN-DAAAAAN-GOOOO. This Raw sucks so far and we're already 45 minutes in.

This has been a total waste of an hour of TV time, and now Damien Sandow loses by countout, worst raw of the year by far as of now, Undertaker next, SAVE THIS SHOW TAKER, PLEASE!

Also 3MB vs Orton and Sheamus, which'll probably ALSO be a squash match. I hate WWE.

Good match between Ziggler and Kofi with Ziggler winning. I'm not forgiving this raw for being garbage though, you're not off the hook WWE. Looks like Ziggler's going to be a tag team wrestler, not sure I like it, but I'll wait before I pass judgment

 

Very good match between Jericho vs Barrett vs Miz for the IC title. Barrett steals the win with a roll up, didn't see Barrett retaining, still a terrible Raw.

 

So the stipulation for Brock vs HHH is just No Holds Barred? How disappointing. This was a terrible Raw.

It was a great show. Just got home from it. We had great seats too. I could have lobbed my beer at HHH with great accuracy if I wanted to. I would say 60ft off just north west of the ring (entrance ramp being south. Sad thing is, I slept through about 30 minutes of it. Pretty much the last 2/3rds of the triple threat match. I woke up right as HHH was hitting the ring. My wife was amazed. I had been up since 4am though.

Well, I'm glad to see at least one person was able to get some enjoy out of that puke inducing Raw, but to me there was way to many squashes and burials and filler to say that this Raw was even passable. This might have been the worst show I've ever seen.

For a pre-Wrestlemania/build-up RAW, lets be honest, that wasn't even the usual RAW, it seemed like a filler if anything. Also where in the world is the Rock, are they going to just air the same preview video over and over till WM or what exactly? Anyways there was some good parts though; loved Y2J's promo, Taker and Punk's segment of course and looks like we're going to have yet another amazing match-up at WM, with HHH/Lesnar being a No Holds Barred match - reminds me of the HHH/Taker match back in WM27. That was hands down one of the best matches I've ever seen.

 

 

Sad thing is, I slept through about 30 minutes of it.

I've heard of people falling asleep while watching the show, but sleeping at the show?!

 

@Shen: I guess it's quite a different experience watching the show live rather than on your TV or PC.

That's a good point, it's probably a lot more fun actually being there but still, that was one of the worst Raws I have ever seen. Even the Christmas one was better then this. : /, also Lesnar vs HHH being No Holds Barred was pretty anticlimactic after that long beating to Heyman. I was hoping for something more exciting, but the stipulation that Triple H's career is on the line is interesting, but we all know he's going to win the match.

I get the whole soap opera BS deal about a lot of the sh*t being Hall fake or completely fake hits but f*ck that couldn't have felt good. Damn thin landed feet down on his spine. Also, the crowd was 50/50 for Cena. I was surprised he got that much hate but it wasn't like he was booed off stage.

About time Cena has a twist in his character - slight gimmick to give him new ideas/a new story. With like the likes of Sheamus becoming very "goodie" in public relations, the baby face, the friend, the average funny guy, they can afford to do this surely.

Cena's been getting 50/50 boos if not booed out of the arena for a long time, they're not going to change his character because of it, they'll just ignore it and have the camera zoom in on the prepubescent little kids which are the only section of the audience that cheer him anymore.
