Well, in hardly meaningless news, Derrick Frost's punt dropped on the ground at about the 20-30 yard line and the wind blew it to the 4.
gta_player5
Don't you love how Cowboys fans and Patriots fans and even Jets fans call the 2007 Dolphins the worst team ever? I mean, because none of those teams have ever gone 1-15 in a season... Hold up. They what? That's right, they all have gone 1-15 in a season. The Cowboys in 1989, the Patriots in 1990 and in that year there were also charges of verbal harassment to a reporter and the team was fined $50,000 and two players were fined $5,000 each, and the Jets in 1996 after going 3-13 the previous season. The Patriots were the laughing stock of the league in the early '90s. From the 1989 season through the 1993 season the Patriots were 19-61. Great team? No. How did the Patrios get better? They made Bill Parcells the head coach and they drafted well. Who did they draft? Drew Bledsoe. From 1992 to 1996 the Jets won more than 6 games once. The season was 1993 when they went 9-7 after a 4-12 season before. The three seasons after that the Jets had an overall record of 10-38. They got better how? They signed Bill Parcells as the head coach in 1997 by "luring" him away from New England, this cost them some draft picks, and then in 1998 they signed Curtis Martin and Vinny Testaverde. From 1986 to 1990 the Cowboys had an overall record of 25-54. One 1-15 season and one 3-13 season in the mix. After the 1988 season Jerry Jones fired both the GM, Tex Schramm, and the legendary head coach, Tom Landry. Dallas improved because of the infamous Herschel Walker trade, that made their team in the '90s. So as you can see, people should at least research before they go off and run their mouths. Burning-Ice
Pretty random thought but I'm glad Quinn isn't starting or will start any time soon for the Browns. I never liked the guy and always thought he was overrated (even though he's pretty buff for a QB, I'll give him that). This Derek Anderson guy really came out of nowhere this season and I doubt anyone thought the Browns would be in the playoff hunt at this time. I'm upset that the Dolphins won, I was hoping it would be the 0-14 Dolphins vs the 14-0 Patriots and the Dolphins winning THAT game. Now THAT would be one hell of a storyline!! Anyone see what Westbrook did yesterday? Taking a knee at the one yard line instead of scoring the TD..now that's a team player! Not many players would give up a free TD in that situation, and thankfully it didn't affect the result of my matchup with Rocky P.S.- The Bears offense is horrendous. They better draft the best college QB this year, Colt Brennan
gta_player5
I think that even if the Dolphins have this win and if they win next week it will still be just as big. I think that the win over the Ravens was better than that win could have been if it happened because the Dolphins won the game at home and because the '72 Dolphins were at the stadium on Sunday and they visited the Dolphins practice on Thursday. I still hope the Dolphins beat the Patriots next week. The last Miami win before this one over the Ravens was a 21-0 win over New England in Miami, I just so happened to have attended that game; my first Dolphin regular season game and first in Miami. I saw Westbrook make that play and the first thought in my head was "I thought Westbrook was a nice guy, why's he taunting like that?" After I saw him get touched down though I realized he didn't want to score and give the ball to Dallas. Good play by him, smart play too. What a team player, I think about 95% of all players in the NFL would have gone into the end zone on that play and then celebrated like it won them a Super Bowl. Derek Anderson is good and he's really helped that offense. So many things have really helped re-energize their offense. Braylon Edwards and Kellen Winslow are healthy this season, Jamal Lewis is running wild, and they have a quality quarterback who is also a good story. The Browns most likely will make the playoffs, but I don't see them getting out of the first round, mainly because the AFC teams are so good. Seriously, when Jacksonville, a 10-4 team, is the wild card team, you know the conference/division must be really good. The Bears' offense needs a lot of things, quarterback is the number one priority though. Brennan would probably do well, but the Bears would need to give him some receivers. Muhsin Muhammad is good, but he's getting up there in age. Bernard Berrian is good too, but he's honestly no better than a number two receiver. After receivers the Bears need a running back. Cedric Benson simply has not panned out the way they thought he would. Since they should draft a QB they should look at the free agent running backs in the offseason for any appealing players, and if not hold try outs. Why not? Willie Parker was undrafted and look at him, he's leading the league in rush yards.
Burning-Ice
Berrian is simply a deep threat, and since no Bears QB can even throw an accurate deep ball, he is rendered useless. I think it's going to take a while for the Bears to rebuild their offense, I see they are trying to get Hester as many touches as possible but he still has a long time to develop as a receiver. As of now, Bears are driving down the field, trying to tie the game.
gta_player5
Berrian is simply a deep threat, and since no Bears QB can even throw an accurate deep ball, he is rendered useless. Berrian goes deep! Darren Sharper interception and it's returned to the 39. A few kneel downs should seal the deal. 20-13 Vikes. They could definitely do something in the playoffs, especially with that #1 run defense and that #1 run offense. The Bears offense is a mess. It's going to take more than a good draft to build it back up. It's going to take a few years. They said before MNF that in 132 games the Bears have had 33 different QB's start. That's 1 new QB every 4 games. Edited December 18, 2007 by gta_player5

Like you said Player, Vikings could end up doing something in the playoffs, Jackson needs to relax more though. He seemed really, spazzy today and jumped around too much in the pocket. He could of made a lot of passes if he kept his cool, but he's young and inexperienced.

Burning-Ice
Big games from Big Ben and Jackson...great. Well, after Ben's 200+ 3 TD (or was it 2?) first half, I thought he would drop a 70 point game on me, thankfully he cooled down a bit but this should be an interesting final. Seddo
Woah there was a match in snow, that would be f*cking awesome if football (soccer) done that, i loved playing in snow. As soon as there is a hint of snow the ref usually cancels the match due to all health and safety sh*t. Long gone are the days where you played in inches of snow with an orange ball. I had my laptop hooked up with a Pinnacle USB 2.0 HDTV Tuner for last nights Steelers game. Seeing as I am a security guard for the company, how I spend my time inbetween building walk-arounds is up to me, but I had the whole 7 man recycling crew sidetracked from work and watching the game. It was great. The Picture (at half size because 1440x900 would be a page stretch.): Look of the TV Tuner on my Laptop:
Dasutin
That's pretty sweet, kev. If I get a TV Tuner will it be HDTV, or do you have to get a certain laptop to support it? I didn't build mine, I got it stock from Circuit City, so I don't even know if I could get one, but I was really interested when I was searching Dell for my laptop over the summer. I just have a laptop with an onboard 950 chipset for Video processing...so nothing too fancy. I just bought a USB HDTV based tuner from best buy. THe Pinnacle USB 2.0 HDTV Tuner runs from 100-139 depending on what level you get. I have this one: It is totally plug and play. Even theprogram that runs the TV tuner is stored on the USB fob thingy. I love it. I plug it into the coax cable at home and watch HDTV through the antenna at work. Full 1080 hd broadcasts. manofpeace
I'm surprised the ref let that blatant pass interference go, and anybody with eyes could tell that he grabbed onto the Panther receiver in that huge pass. Rashon.
Anybody get to catch a glimpse of the game? Good luck, I didn't. Not one. The NFL Network sucks. Plus, the Pats and Giants game is on the NFL Network and if there isn't this "regional televised coverage" I heard of back when the Cowboys and Packers played, then I won't see the Patriots potentially get to 16-0.
