Forty
See now Cris Collinsworth and Bryant Gumble was about talking Tom Brady and him "hearing" the whistle. They're saying, he didn't say if he heard it before or after the play. He knew he was stopped and just got lucky EDIT - Well London Fletcher got me 13 points tonight. Which is great and not only that, Portis only got 17 on Attorney's side. I'm surprised, because Portis hasn't looked like himself all year. I hope he steps it back up next season and is the stud I know he can be. London Fletcher ain't got sh*t. How about my boy Pat Willis (49ers) getting 17 tackles two weeks straight!! That guy is a straight BEAST

D Jones
I agree... It always seems to end that way. A few bad passes, a interception or just a single slip by Asante Samuel could and probably will cost them a game.

PSXtreme
Well I GUARANTEE you that the Patriots beat the Steelers by 22 points. Forty
I just have two things to say about the Patriots game today. First, that double lateral pass was one of the sickest trick plays I've ever seen. Brady threw a bomb touchdown to Jabar Gaffney from his own 37 yard line to the opposite goal line. That's 63 yards. Jesus f*cking christ. That makes Kyle Boller's last second bomb last week look like a screen pass. Good lord what arm strength. Secondly, the Pats' next two opponents have a combined record of 3-23. The Jets (3-10) and the Dolphins (0-13). Can anybody say 15-0 fo sho? Ridiculous. I'm not a Pats fan, but I cannot help marveling at the sheer brilliance of this football squad. They hung 34 on the best pass defense in football. p.s. Randy Moss is an inhuman mutant creature from another galaxy. No human could ever make the catches he makes. And to think people thought he was "washed up" coming into this season. Moss is a hell of a player but man, Wes Welker..what a pick up there. It makes me wonder why the Patriot organization did not give Brady better receivers from the get-go. Rockstar, prepare to bring it next week, I fully believe I will extend my win streak to 9 and make it to the finals.
gta_player5
Vick gets 23-month Sentence I don't see him coming back to football anytime soon. Is it safe to say his career is over? Or will he be like Ricky Williams and sit out of football for 2 years and then come back and play? If he does come back and play I don't see him playing for the Falcons. I don't believe that Arthur Blank trusts him anymore.
Attorney General
It makes me wonder why the Patriot organization did not give Brady better receivers from the get-go. You know, my buddies and I have had this heated ongoing debate as to who was the better QB; Brady or Manning. I hate to be the guy who says I told them so, but I gotta be that guy. Because for years it was Manning who got all the accolades while he was breaking Marino's single season TD record, but I've been telling these fools that if Brady had guys like Harrison and Wayne, he'd be stacking stats just like Manning. Meanwhile he was taking the Pats to the Super Bowl with David Givens and Troy Brown (who was pretty good). And now that NE's front office has given Brady some above average receivers...well, you guys see the results. Never in my wildest dreams would I have predicted a record-shattering season like this(4095 yards, 45 TDs, 5 INTs, 70.2 completion percentage, 123.5 QB rating), but I'm just glad that I can sit back and gloat while Brady proves me right. About Vick, the guy was never a pocket passer, so the question arises...if he no longer possesses that upper echelon speed, will his services even be desired when he comes back in 09 at the ripe old age of 30? Rashon.
The Steelers might've been the last challenge of the regular season for the Patriots. I don't really see the Giants as a threat though inter-conference play can be interesting. The Michael Vick thing... it's really bad for him. His rep is completely tarnished with all of this PETA crap. John Clayton says if he returns back at the 2009 or 2010 season, he could end up being a Halfback or Kick Returner. I don't see it happening and this would probably be a riskier choice trusting Vick to play well coming back than Ricky Williams.

Giants are going to have the wild card locked up and will rest their guys, while the Pats will play their starters so they don't get rusty since they have the bye week. About Vick, the guy was never a pocket passer, so the question arises...if he no longer possesses that upper echelon speed, will his services even be desired when he comes back in 09 at the ripe old age of 30? The single-season passing record was set by Marino in 1984 at 5,084 yards. At this point in the season, Marino actually had less yards than Brady has now, so you never know what could happen. To break the record, Brady needs to average 330yds/game over the final three weeks. Based on this season, that is entirely possible. We may be watching truly the greatest season for a QB in the history of professional football in all aspects. In QB rating, completion percentage, yards/per, passing yards, and passing TDs. He could shatter everything in the record books. Here's how far he is from the records: Single season passing records (Brady currently // NFL Record) Pass yards: 4,095 // 5,084 (D. Marino, 1984) Pass TDs: 45 // 49 (P. Manning, 2004) QB Rating: 123.5 // 121.4 (P. Manning, 2004) Completions: 334 // 418 (R. Gannon, 2002) Yards/Completion: 8.6 // 11.17 (T. O'Connell, 1957) Comp. %: 70.2 // 70.55 (K. Anderson, 1982) The only record that would be hard to reach at this point is yards-per-completion. Everything else stands to be tied or broken quite easily at the current pace. What a staggering achievement from a guy who had never thrown more than 28 TDs in a season, and never had a rating higher than 92.6. /stat whoring Edited December 11, 2007 by 40ozFreak
Attorney General
I love me a stat whore. Nice work. Brady really is on another level this year. He'll surely break the TD record and QB rating. And completions, completion percentage and passing yards, though a stretch, are all within reach too. I just love the feeling I get when I feel like I'm watching something historic...and that's the feeling I've had all year watching this team. There's little doubt in my mind that the Pats are going 19-0 to finish the year. The only legitimate threat to them in my opinion is Indy if they can get Harrison on the field. There's little doubt in my mind that the Pats are going 19-0 to finish the year. The only legitimate threat to them in my opinion is Indy if they can get Harrison on the field. I've found some more ammunition for your Brady vs. Manning debate. I proposed this same statwhore post on the Rotoworld forum, and was met with this reply: It's easy to say Manning had Harrison and Wayne and that's why his numbers are great. It's also easy to say Brady would do great with better receivers and then point to what he's doing now. What that argument completely ignores is that while Manning was putting up those fantastic numbers, he had a stud running back in Marshall Faulk and then Edgerrin James to actually handoff to. Brady doesn't share the ball with anyone since they throw 30 times in a row. Let's face it, Brady's numbers would be dramatically lower if he had an Edge in his prime to hand off to. Not taking anything away from Brady, just saying comparing him to Manning isn't really all that fair in this regard. So I did some more research, and some more stat whoring: If we look at it a bit further you'll see that having Edgerrin James made no difference whatsoever. In 2004, the Colts ended with 1,852 rushing yards as a team, ranking 15th in the NFL. Currently, the Patriots have 1,478 rush yards and rank 14th in the NFL. If you want to argue that the season isn't done yet, or that Edge was a better back than the entire New England backfield and thus more valuable to Indy, then look at the Average Rush YPG of the 2004 Colts team and the 2007 Patriots team. The Colts in 2004 averaged 115.8ypg rushing. This year, the Patriots average 113.7ypg. The numbers are almost identical. To make matters uglier for Peyton, he threw 10 interceptions in 2004. Brady so far this year? Just 5. Take all that into consideration, and Brady is definitely the superior QB based on each player's best career season. -------- When I saw those numbers, I was truly awed. I secretly thought that Edge was a huge benefit as well, but now that I realize he made no difference on the overall outcome of the Indy rushing game, that argument becomes null and void. Brady truly is the best, then.
Attorney General
Well done, sir. The 2 to every 1 INT ratio goes a long way in proving who's more effecient with the ball. And lets not forget that Peyton had left tackle Tarik Glenn, a potential Hall of Famer, covering his blind side in 04. That's a nice little ancillary benefit that Brady doesn't have this year. I just hope you don't mind me claiming your hard work/stat whoring as my own, because I'll inevitably smack my boys across the face with this telling info come the weekend football get together.
