Weird, no? Also, yesterday, the Broncos traded Gerard Warren to the Raiders for an undisclosed draft pick. He hardly talks about the game, most of the things that he says have to do with pop culture and things a certain player does off of the field. I don't care about any of that stuff, I want you to call the game. I don't need to know that Peyton Manning was angry with his seat when he ate dinner at the White House. I think that Mike Turico and Jaws just act like they like him, why do I think this? Last season I watched one MNF game where Turico had such a disagreement with Tony that you could just tell in his voice he did not like Kornheiser, and I don't blame him. I really cannot stand him doing the games because he talks about anything and everything, other than the game, which annoys me. Anyway, what is your opinion on Tony Kornheiser? Why would the Eagle release Trotter? Sure he's been injured, but when healthy he's one of the best in the league. Who, if anybody, do you think will sign him? I think he replaced Joe Theismann, so it's not that bad. I do think they should get rid of him though since he almost never talks. I'd like to see another ex-football player in the booth, like Keyshawn or Emmit. Both of them already work for ESPN so I don't think it'd be that hard to do. Seriously, I agree with all that you said. He is the reason why MNF was bad last season and he is the reason why it will most likely be bad this season. It's painful to watch MNF with him calling the games, because after a while of hearing him complain and trying to instigate arguments just the mere sound of his nasally voice gets on my nerves. I hardly watched MNF last season, I caught a hand full of games, and he was honestly the main reason why I did not watch it. Yes there is another show on, on Mondays that I watch, however that ends at nine o'clock, well before MNF ends. Tony Kornheiser is just so damn annoying, that they lose a viewer. And to think, I used to watch PTI everyday. Edit Those shows I can't stand either, PTI and Around the Horn. Around the Horn hasn't been the same since Max Kellerman left it a few years ago. Kornheiser, and four interviews in one game is a little much. The interviews can be somewhat interesting, like the Freeney interview, but most NFL players are just trained to say the right thing. Theisman and Kornheiser are friends off the field, and Theisman was replaced by Jaworski because he wasn't a great analyzer of the game. Ron Jaworski is the best football analyst ESPN has on staff, so who better to break down the game as it unfolds? Mike Tirico does the basic play-by-play, which is his job, and is the main host for MNF like Al Michaels was. Tony Kornheiser does exactly what his purpose on MNF requires: he is additional commentary and discussion beyond what Jaworski and Tirico provide. They didn't want two analysts on together because it would provide too much technical data, and there needs to be discussion and chatter between plays. Kornheiser is a sports writer, and the co-host of ESPN's highest rated program PTI. They know what they're getting with him, and being that they kept him on for a second season means he's doing what is expected of him. I'm not sure if you guys are fans of PTI, or if you watch a whole lot of ESPN. I like Kornheiser, though Wilbon is my favorite of the two. I think Tony is a bit too outspoken sometimes, but it doesn't bother me because I get a bit sick of so many show hosts being carbon copies of one another- saying the same catch phrases, having the same opinions and words for every player or team, etc like so many ESPN and Fox Sports personalities. I don't think Tony incites any arguments on MNF, and he doesn't say things just to be different. His job on ESPN is to debate points and events in sports and he does just that. Thatsoccerguy sent me a PM regarding the last slot, and I told him to PM GTA3Rockstar about it, and he then joined. This is good because there will not be a bye week now. Regarding the release of Trotter. I was watching Total Access and they showed a quick clip from a Donovan McNabb interview and he said that he and everyone else on the team were shocked when they learned that Trotter had been cut. Because he said Trotter was asked to cut weight, which he did, and he said he came into camp in great condition and performed well in both preseason games, so he has no idea why he was cut. They keep stacking the left side and putting only two or three guys on the right, and it's working great. I think they've already blocked two kicks, and they got a piece of another one and it's still only the third quarter. I don't know why nobody has thought of doing that before. I ran some errands knowing that I would be back before 6:45 and I come back, refresh the page of this topic and see "the draft starts in two minutes!", so I have to get to the league page, open up the draft box, Java was a bitch to load so the window too a few minutes to open, and then I see "Time until start: 13+ minutes".
