I don't know why, but I can't stand wallpapers that don't fit the entire screen. Like yours, with the black space.... just... ehhhhh.

And I hate icons arranged other than on the left, by type, and vertically, stacking down and to the right. I'm f*cking nuts...

Oh God, I know what you mean. I'm very clean and basic about my desktop, and everything must be placed starting from the left; My Computer first, My Documents/User Folder second from top left. All the icons are sorted by their uses, and the recycle bin must be in the right-bottom corner, always. The only thing I have at the right side of my screen other than that is a folder called "Random Stuff" for files that I might use in the near future, but don't deserve a place in any other folder. So, that folder is near the recycle bin for a reason.

Nope, you will need to download a program to convert it to a bootscreen (I think Stardock have something to change bootscreens). That's just an MS-DOS logo I made.

Gotta love the cracked screen background. I set it on a computer in the school library and the Hungarian librarian flipped. Full o' lolz.

That's some nasty jaggies and dents there. What'd you use to cut it out?

Jigsaw, I'm still working on it, waiting for some U-channel.

Looks like you used a blade designed for cutting tree, then. You can get finer blades for cutting metal which leave you with a much nicer result, without the need for U/C-channel trim lists. Masking tape helps, too. smile.gif

Case photo looks *horrible* there, but it's the best one I've got. Needs the cables tidying away, and the red interior is a lot darker than it appears there, it's a deep crimson colour in real-life.

Specs are:

i7 920 @ 3.3GHz

1GB GeForce GTX285

GeForce 9500GT (to drive the 3rd monitor)

Gigabyte EX58-UD5 motherboard

6GB Corsair Dominator DDR3 1600MHz

120.3 Black-Ice Radiator

EK-supreme CPU block

DCC-pro pump with XSPC plexi top

1TB Samsung Spinpoint HD, held in with elastic to silence it

850W Zalman heatpipe PSU

I used both, I just fail at power tools.

And it supports spanning the game across both GPUs? I couldn't even get my 9800GT to span in games. It would do span on the desktop, but as soon as a game started, it would revert to dual view, and play the game on the primary.

Related question: Is there any software to force a game to span across multiple monitors? Maybe adding a custom resolution, and running the game in windowed mode?

I think I'll try that right now.

sh*t, not letting me add custom resolutions...

You need to use a little tool called SoftTH.

http://www.kegetys.net/SoftTH/

It does various clever things to trick directX into thinking you've actually got one huge monitor. It'll even take into consideration the gap of an inch or so where the bezels of the screens meet, so when something moves off the edge of one screen, it doesn't instantly appear 1 inch over on the other screen. There's a gap of 100 or so 'virtual' pixels between the screens.

The two GPUs aren't really working together to render the scene, it's not SLI. The second card is purely there as an output - it gets given a fully rendered screen to display that's already been prepared by the other card. The advantage of this is you don't need two identical cards, the second card can be a really cheap, low power one. My 9500 is overkill really, I was experimenting with running it as a dedicated PhysX card as well as the SoftTH, which does work.

This is the laptop I've ordered of eBay. Should be arriving later this week, my first one (My Dad has had work laptops in the past, one time a crappy XP one, and a Dell Latitude D630 which has been replaced with a desktop now).

I doubt it wins any design awards (Especially from the photo's, considering he has some funky looking resolution), but I quite like the simplicity of the lid, and piano black is a bitch to keep clean anyway.

Hmm, actually looks like a very nice laptop to me smile.gif. Looks like you got a good deal there (£299 wasn't it?). I wish I had a laptop, but for me it was either laptop or desktop and for modelling, this desktop owns any other laptop for £160.

Crappy pics of mine:

And my Dad managed to get the Dell bag from his ex-laptop at work for free. So my HP rolls in a Dell bag (Might see if I can remove the logo).

Sweet, I'll be sure to check that out. Will probably bring in my 9800GT to school now that there's a reason for so much power...

Just a couple of days ago I decided to replace my MSI P6N SLI Platinum (NVIDIA 650i SLI) motherboard with an MSI P45 Platinum (Intel P45) for more overclocking abilities, among other things such as PCI-Express 2.0 support, faster memory controller, Circu-Pipe 2 Northbridge and Southbridge cooling, just overall a much better motherboard. I managed to replace the motherboard WITHOUT reinstalling Vista Ultimate or Windows 7 beta Ultimate, and I don't regret it at all either tounge.gif . I also decided while I was at it to replace my old Zalman CNPS7000b-Cu heatsink, which was a little bit better than the stock cooler, with a Tuniq Tower 120 which is one of the top-performing air coolers around.

I currently have my Q6600 G0 @ 3.0GHz @ stock volts (VID 1.300). Sooner or later I plan on lapping my CPU as well as increasing clock speeds of both CPU and GPU for maximum performance. With this new motherboard and cooler, higher clocks will be possible. So far Prime95 100% load temps for my Q6600 are 48-50C not bad at all, and temps will only get better as the Arctic Silver thermal grease cures.

Sorry for double-post, forum wouldn't let me post all the pics in one post.
