anyone have any idea of where I could get vista themes + proper documentation of how to install without installing stardock crap?

 

I've already tried deviant art, and it f*cked everything up and had to system restore from the install disk.

Windows Dreamscene in full flow

Ill post some pictures of my actually computers then.

 

My main computer, running Windows Vista. Dell Inspiron 531.

 

My old custom PC that I had in 2004, upgraded a bit since, running Windows XP Pro.

 

A laptop, Dell Latitude D630 running Windows XP Pro.

 

 

A white tower desktop from 1999, updated quite a lot, capable of XP but I put 98SE on for the hell of it. It looks like any other computer from 1999, Im unsure of the make or model.

 

My brothers computer running Windows XP Pro, I dont have a picture, or know what the case is, but it's another gaming case with neons.

Hi Matthew,for the default Windows Dreamscene content offered by Microsoft through Windows Ultimate Extras, my Core 2 Duo was running at 20-30%.

However, it shoots upto 45% while running a high definition video(1080p) on the desktop. The main culprits are the two executables namely dwm.exe(Desktop Window Manager) and explorer.exe. You can download some pretty cool HD clips from

 

WMV HD Showcase gallery at Microsoft. I use some of them myself. So enjoy it to the fullest.

I've installed DreamScene, and it's pretty cool but matt's right, it takes up too much CPU power. Although it is pretty neat, it's not worth the hit on processing power, imo. If I ever need to show off to some one, I can always turn it on

 

Besides, I do so much 3d stuff, I need to keep Aero off (sadly, it looks nicer) because it conflicts with the programs (3ds Max, Zmodeler 2, Pro/E, AutoCad) and causes graphical errors making it a bitch to work with...

Why isn't there a free alternative to windowblinds?! i downloaded the watercolor theme used in The XP Betas but i can't use them without windowblinds or another program...but i don't have money...
