Finally got around to giving this case a clean which I've been meaning to do since I got it off eBay in December, also took the time to tidy the cables up. Doesn't look like much but temps have improved fairly and the case is cleaner too, still waiting on some other stuff like longer sata cables hence why the drive cage is stuck in the middle.

lot of cool and funny pics. here's mine between the coffee and the rum/grapes icecream x). the flash amplified the 2 stains on the wall. but frankly, they are barely visible

redid my loop this weekend after discovering this

OVhwLEd.jpg

it seems the tubes that were touching the rubber grommets of the case were absorving the color, it even changed the shape of the tube

Well after buying the new monitor it finally motivated me to get that new desk. Was running my old 1080p monitor as a 2nd display for a couple weeks but removed it for now until I can figure out a more aesthetic setup as it was triggering the sh*t out of my OCD having mismatched monitors and stands, ect.

Loving the new desk and new monitor though. The increased res (2560x1440) is more taxing on my gpu but with prices the way they are Im gonna have to maker the 1060 last until prices on 1080Ti come down.

Apart from some more cable management being needed Im pretty happy with the "battlestation" aspect of the setup. Now just need to get into the pc internals again (water cooling for cpu, gpu support bracket for now, and ram and gpu upfgrades when prices fall).

Long post so most images are in spoilers for your sake lol

still not sure, i like everything in this case, the looks, the build quality, how nothing looks cramped even when two rads are inside.

i thought about keeping it as it is, but since im going to use at least the gpu, then it will feel empty in there, maybe get a new and smaller case like the H400i and take it to my work place, and keep the lian li in my house for a couple more years.

Hey Audi what's that underneath your desk? It looks like a foot massager? It looks cool and I want one lol

The grey thing?

Just a foot rest, helps with my back pretty well. Although putting my foot massager down there is tempting if it didn't involve water lol

XD thought its was one of those foot massagers, does that help having a foot rest?

Surprisingly it does. Wish it was a height adjustable one though. But not bad for a impulse $20 pick up at Office Depot lol.

On topic, pc after doing some dust clean up. Don't think I ever got a pic of the 2nd fan I added in the front either. Last pic with the stock cpu cooler before going with a more aesthetic water cooled setup (think Corsair H100i atm). Also gonna nab a gpu support brace..

How are you liking Arch?

How are you liking Arch?

I have used Debian before. One thing which I find hard is to add PPA and download codecs and software from it. And I don't read its wiki very often when I face a problem. I don't face these issues in Arch. You have the wonderful wiki and AUR, you can download almost everything instantaneously. Adding third party repositories is not a pain in the butt like it is in Debian. One last thing is Arch don't have a butt ton of bloatware. Arch's KISS policy is great! Debian's iso are way too large as they have a crap ton of bloatware. But in Arch though, you select your personal favorite software and install it.

Overall, I like Arch because of its wonderful wiki and AUR. And the community is fantastic too, they are keen to help you out.

Installing Arch for an amateur may be overwhelming as it does not have a GUI installer, but you can download its derivatives like Manjora, etc. Even though I'm a beginner when it comes to Linux, I don't think installing through a command line is difficult, I think its fun and fantastic. It lets you to experience the very feeling of setting up a Linux distro of your own.

I havent used Debian in a while but I know exactly what youre talking about. I plan on getting around to Arch again but I just seem to love distro hopping.

I'm known to switch between distros very often too.

got some new parts

MrEBN3l.jpg

still need RAM, black fans (any advice?) and time to paint the radiators black, so right now it looks a bit like frankenstein with half of the parts from the other build.

I didn't know there was a black version until recently as well.

It was after I bought 5 of the brown ones that I found out. I might change my mind but at least the brown color isn't too bad with my case. It's just that everything else on the interior is black.

I kind of feel like hopping over to Arch to try it out but the whole CLI install concerns me not for hardness but the fact I have 2x 500gb drives in a software raid and it was enough of a struggle to figure out how to mount them natively in Debian and knowing my luck I'd probably nuke something doing partitions manually via the command line. That and the fact I've been using Apt for packages for years and moving to Aur/Pacman would result in alot of wrong terminal commands :p
