Def Leppard High and Dry, I need not say anything else. LOVE IT as long as I live ON THRU THE NIGHT should have been on their first LP, and the production on par with the second.

That being said, Some Chicago THRASH masters....

Z E O T R O P E:

BTW, See DragonForce coming here, Sunno))) as well.

As for technical metal; I'd say Atheist and Pestilence without Martin Van Drunen, later incarnation

DT is bringing Opeth on their European Progressive Nation. Now, if this doesn't drop by Portugal I'm going to stomp some serious ass.

Yeah I'm kinda pissed about that lol. Yeah we get Zappa Plays Zappa but I would of liked Opeth too maybe instead of the other two bands. Then again Beardfish is pretty cool and I haven't really listened to Pain of Salvation.

The new album - "The Incident"

Porcupine Tree are happy to announce the forthcoming release of their tenth studio album "The Incident".  The record is set to be released via Roadrunner Records worldwide on 21st September, as a double CD.

The centre-piece is the title track, which takes up the whole of the first disc. The 55-minute work is described as “a slightly surreal song cycle about beginnings and endings and the sense that ‘after this, things will never be the same again’.”

The self-produced album is completed by four standalone compositions that developed out of band writing sessions last December - Flicker, Bonnie The Cat, Black Dahlia, and Remember Me Lover feature on a separate EP length disc to stress their independence from the song cycle.

Video footage of the band in the studio working on The Incident, as well as audio previews, will be available online soon.  The band will tour extensively to promote the album from mid September onwards.

f*ck. Yes.

It's a shame about ZPZ (and about Pain of Salvation too, I guess, I'd like to see them live), but Opeth trumps all. They haven't been in Portugal since Damnation/Deliverance, I believe. Last year (you might recall my excited squeeks of sheer happiness), the venue where the festival was going to occur was trashed, however strange it sounds.

The Zappa Does Zappa has been touring for some time, actually. Not really booking with metal acts.

I've been digging up old audio cassettes with the former M E T A L S H O P show archived.

Of course, depending where you live, you never were weened on it, well, I can't imagine not having it, it was so awesome, metal was of many varieties and it never wimped out either. A local segment and National segment from Hot Rockin' 104 FM here in the Twin Cities, MN, USA.

However, the show sounds as good now on playback as it did then... They had some contrived humor that didn't work, but over all it was entertaining and kicking ass.

One of the bands I was looking up on YouTube has very few songs to sample from, even the one I have on tape is not up there YET... but,

Here they are as featured now, ROGUE MALE

I didn't want to just talk about the local legacy of Earl Root and JJ Jefferies for all MidWEST USA Bangers but I would like to hear about everyone's LOCAL scene, if you were privy to something other then the Internet.

What kind of metal show was grabbing your "earballs" as it were?

The other thing is how, for us classic minded metallers, it was a time and space unlike today. Of course, metal continues, and one can't lose sight of that, but to live metal in the 1980s!?! There was nothing like it! I really grew my passion out of that. Rock and metal were terribly important during the 80s decade.

Look up the Rogue Male reviews as I did, they compare to Motorhead more then once, described as the EARLIEST crossover band (1985) ALL OVER YOU is the song with hidden meaning that I had heard, it's the one I plan to upload to YT soon.

Enjoying mucho metal right now, and you can see what I mean by linking to ...

http://www.myspace.com/therootofallevilradioshow

Look at comments left after Earl's passing, Gene Hogland is on there, among others. I just enjoy hearing all the recordings made, and some of those are already on my YT channel with much more to come

Don't choose for other people what they want to hear or see. It's up to that person and that person alone. I don't mock other's selections, I present things that I personally listen to.

I don't care if you'll never appreciate it, it's still worth sharing if my ears appreciate it.

That needs to be said! It is truth!!

Check out the band Incubus with their song "Incubus" then tell me the pop mock band is any better, which it isn't

IT'S NOT METAL!!!!!

I prefer YOUR DEAD as the various Ballads from S.O.D.

Now those are catchy LITTLE ditties!!

Yeah. I'd rather listen to a good band cover a sh*tty song than listen to boring generic breakdown bullsh*t.

I love the way you try to come across as a huge "metalhead" Not doubting you love the music off course but then you post Phil Collins in a thread.. Yes the irony is sweet.

Yeah ok then buddy. I'm not the one listening to loads of sh*tty metalcore bullsh*t. I don't try to come across as anything. I like what I like. Metal is probably my favorite genre but unlike you it seems, I'm a lot more open minded to other forms of music. Sorry Phil Collins isn't br00tal enough for you.

Not that I'll buy it, I'll rather wait for the full album.

Yeah mang, that's some real variety right there. I mean, who the f*ck would guess that someone who listens to metalcore would also listen to pop punk and hard rock? Out-f*cking-standing.

That Megadeth cover looks plain weird. I really can't make if I find it appealing or not. Just... weird. Let's just hope Broderick kicks the ammount of ass Dave has been owing was for the past years.

I saw A Day To Remember last year as a side band as some concert I went to and all I remember is them being very sh*tty and not able to get the crowd going. They got outplayed by the likes of Silverstein and The Devil Wears Prada.

Glad to see Broderick and Sneap seem to have made an impression on the new album, the preview sounds heavy as f*ck.

Ummm sorry this is not heavy enough. Come back with some real metal like A Day to Remember and then we can talk. sigh.gif

Seriously though about that preview, meh. It sounds alright but like typical Megadeth. It will probably be a good listen but nothing special. At least that is what I thought of the last album.
