Six Feet Under!!!! Hell YEAH!

I am listening to video (watching as well) shot before Earl Root's untimely demise to Cancer.

He states the only one running a metal show longer (25 years LONG!!!!!) is a guy named Tink.

I thought he had said TANK.

My query to you all is if anyone knows details on TINK's show??

Earl said it's specific to the "Country", meaning USA...however, I had asked about other metal shows abroad....Not the Internet, but traditional broadcasts, even video outlets!

Let's hear what you've been weened on, don't be shy about it.....

Even somebody like Earl Root has fanboys. It's safe to say I've seen everything on the internet.

Never in my life ^.

I'm looking for an honest answer, BTW. Unless you know what the hell you're talking about, don't post. Some of you take jabs at Earl Root to take something out on me, which is unfair to say the least. If you died from cancer would you like it if I used your name to joke at someone else's expense?? I think not.

I came across several new YouTube channels supporting Earl Root's efforts in metal. Because he was such a champion in life for the effort, I applaud that. I want to know about Tink's show, since Earl isn't around to ask about it. Someone might know what he was saying about that. There are numerous "Fly on the wall" stories that I was privy to having known the man.

Metal is more then just what you found on the Internet. Expand your horizons! 25 years feels like a lifetime to me. I've known The Root since 1990, but I listened to him weekly several years prior to that.

Thankfully, as expressed before, his show carries onward! The Metal banner held high! Keeping the Faith!

Anyone heard of Anvil?

I was reading a feature on Anvil in a magazine over here in the UK and it was semi-interview, semi-advertisement for Anvil's new DVD documentary. They're a relatively forgotten metal band who claim that the only metal act better than they are is Judas Priest. They believe that Metallica are scared to have them on their bill and won't let them tour with them for that reason. As egotistical as this sounds, they also go on to say that if they got the breaks Metallica got, they'd be pushing out their 10th and 11th albums, dominating charts and what not. It's a tragic film really, as Lips (the guitarist/vocalist) has to sell sunglasses to support his band and his family because music is all he ever learned how to do. If you come across anything by Anvil, including their latest DVD, do give it a watch, really interesting.

Lead singer was "Lips", they had one really funny vid on HeadBanger's Ball in the 1980s... There is also a metal band called "Anvil Bitch", love that title

Anvil's alright, not something mindblowing as they claim, but a solid thrash band. That's it.

I'm pretty sure I wouldn't care because I'd be dead.

Oh, I hear Varg is getting released soon. Not a great fan of black metal, but there is a good few songs I like, along with a few Burzum songs, will be interesting to hear what he comes out with now, after however long it has been

He'll be too busy hating everyone and everything to make new music. Plus the later Burzum albums sucked. I like ambient music made from keyboards and all but not when the keyboard sounds like a Casio.

I'll be taking bets on how long he lasts once he's on the outside. I'm giving him a year.

Meh, I dunno, I'd give him longer. I suppose he's "all grown up" now.

I'd been putting off listening to Watershed by Opeth for whatever reason but the last few week it's all I've had on on my iPod. What a bloody good record. Makes me want to go see them play live again.

Less emotions, but still very spectacular. Different is the word, but Damnation was also different, and every albums are different in many ways. Sometime it seems to be more apparent. I couldn't tell I like Watershed less or more, I just think it gives a different feeling, sometime I prefer listening to it than to another, sometime I don't. Depends, Opeth plays with the moods. I like it.

Yeah different is the word. I mean take that funky, trippy bit in the middle of The Lotus Eater. Never heard anything like that before.

I beg to differ. I think the album had a lot of emotion. Almost to a Damnation like level. The album is their softest one since that album I think. Theres not a whole lot of growls in there and the sound seems more mellow for the most part.

Listen to a bunch of prog rock and you'll know where that came from.

The album had a more prog sound to it. Prog rock is my favorite genre though so maybe that is why I loved the album more than a lot of people I know who prefer a different style.

In other news, Big Business dates posted today. Hell yeah.

Oh and any other bands like Opeth?

HOLY f*ckING sh*tTY FHAT

NEW ISIS LEAKED.

Warlord: 'My Arms, Your Hearse', 'Still Life' and 'Morningrise' are probably the best Opeth albums, mind you their earlier sound it less of a complete 70's prog wankfest and more focused on the atmosphere.

No dough this post will get questions and and maybe even some fighting.

If I neglected posting this, now is the time...

Earl Root VINTAGE 1987 Battle of the Bands contest is posted on YouTube, much, much more to come. In fact. I am going through personal footage of the ORIGINAL Shock Rock METAL band IMPALER. They played virtually EVERY Halloween.

Impaler started circa 1983, and they are THE local Legends of Hard Rock-Heavy Metal in the USA.

There is another band overseas CLAIMING to be Impaler, they weren't born back then! haha

Impaler were poster children for the PMRC

Earl Root on this cover is one of the best latterday shots taken... He played in several bands, not JUST Disturbed

Blind Joe Death

http://www.metalkult.com/news/clutch-annou...-album-details/

We’ve just been informed of the new details surrounding Clutch’s upcoming full-length, and first album of new material for Weathermaker. The Clutch camp reports the following:

“Management at Weathermaker Music has announced that Clutch will enter Magpie Cage recording studios in Baltimore with producer J. Robbins on March 20th, to work on their first studio record in over 2 years. The yet to be titled release is set for a June 30th worldwide release through Weathermaker. Robbins produced both The Bakerton Group’s “El Rojo” and Clutch’s critically acclaimed 2005 release “Robot Hive/Exodus” and we are very excited to be working with him on yet another Clutch release.”

I've posted information about the new album before but just for those that missed it, and we also have a release date now (June 30th).

2009 has started as, and is shaping up to continue as, a f*cking monster of a year.

Also, anybody else hoping Clutch don't continue further into the blues? As much as I loved Beale St., it'd be awesome to see them go back to their original sound.
