As mentioned in another thread, I was going through all my closet stacks, and I decided to scan some vintage metal rag pics, These are not uploaded yet to the Nets, but you guys are in for a treat, I thought I'd use some images for YouTube audio clips as well, but they will be on Photobucket soon. Classic Celtic Frost and Slayer, even a Metal Mania article on Broken Hope, who I've filmed and seen live more then once.

I hope to connect with some David Wayne era Metal Church fans on here...one band I wished made it into a GTA game!! They kicked some ass and Wayne is sorely missed. RIP.

Several times (5 in the past 3 or 4 months), their new material is f*cking fantastic, "As Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope" is incredible. They played the new songs on the radio a few weeks back, I was smart and recorded it. You can grab it here.

 

 

The album will be out sometime this year.

Sorry to ruin the parade on the awesome mastodon song. Has anyone seen this video of metallica doing a medley of past hits @ the mtv awards in 03? I reckon they do a killer job on beat it and seven nation army if they both got made into tallica songs it'd be f*cking awesome.

Reminds me of when I saw Machine Head and Slipknot, three dudes dressed as Santa were invited from the top tier of seating, through the standing area and onto the stage, where they then had a beer with Rob Flynn. They then stage dived back into the crowd ready for Slipknot. Was amazing to see.

Sure, I heard it on The Root of All Evil radio show, but that covers a vast amount of time, and these guys are worth your attention!

I saw Machine Head and Slipknot play live over where i live. It was insane slipknot ended up playing sic as an encore at the end. But machine head was sick aswell i did like their song Halo.

Got back from seeing A Million Dead Birds Laughing (who are one of the finalists to play as the local slot for the Australian run of Summer Slaughter, they're f*cking excellent), Ocularis Infernum and a bunch of sh*tty core bands.

 

AMDBL and Ocularis have been enough for a severe bangover though.

Two more "lost" bands that are worth keeping an eye and ear on.... In the

late 1980s, Gary Golwitzer and his band WRATH debuted with a very interesting metal sound that was overseen by the legendary Ronnie Montrose, who showed a new side with his 70s hard rockin guitar producing a very new sound Metal outfit. Wrath didn't recapture that first LP's flare later on, but I did get to see them live and grab some shots of the band.

 

Then there's Thrash metal/Death Metal band Thanatos - "Emerging from the Netherworlds", on Cargo Records, should have gotten more attention, they still sound like classic Thrashin' Death metal that stands apart from other acts at the time.

 

@Scarface187, I have no idea what you mean, but I am SLAMMAN, a metal head. I listen to it and continue to do so... I'll support the lesser known 80s and 90s bands, you promote the 2000+ bands.

@Toy and Scarface, Metallica played a better set at Boston than they did here in Milwaukee. You bastards.

 

I saw Septic Flesh/Satyricon/Cradle of Filth last night. It sucked pretty hard I must say. The mosh pits sucked but it was fun watching everyone. This one guy kept trying to do backflips in the middle of the pit and someone gut checked him just as he was about to flip. Hilarious.

I obtained a 'freebie' 45 single vinyl... from a band called Zemial, a band one can only assume is "black metal" via their un-readable logo!

My 45 is pink colored, supposed to be blood red? I dunno! haha

 

I was looking at DEAD (vox Mayhem) videos on YouTube and wondering what you guys thought of his suicide. The book Lords of Chaos interviews those who knew him to get a better idea of how he was as a person... It would seem he was heading the way of suicide for some time...yet no one did anything, unable to see the signs or being indifferent to it. It seemed some of the black metal artists were embracing death and courting it.
