Grand Theft Auto 3

New Boris album entitled "Smile" has been leaked, in case anyone here likes them.. it's pretty f*cking good in my opinion, opening track is very different, even by Boris standards. But yeah, I can't wait to play it again and again.. sweet album, very psychedelic at times.

Got it yesterday, listening now. Good sh*t.

If you need a translation of the titles:

01 - Message

02 - Buzz-in

03 - Shoot!

04 - Flower Sun Rain

05 - Near Saturn

06 - Withering ahead ends

07 - You Put Up Your Umbrella

No dough this post will get questions and and maybe even some fighting.

getting ahold of the Boris leak ASAP...should be seismic.

And I looked around for those two sludge albums you suggested Moonshield; no luck. Hopefully the bargain bin of the other other independent record store will yield better results.

oh, and Clutch is amazing.

What is this? News on a new Opeth album?

"Watershed" is the name of Opeth´s 9th studio observation. The album has just been mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren with M. Åkerfeldt. The album consist of 7 songs and the titles are as follows:

1. Coil

2. Heir Apparent

3. The Lotus Eater

4. Burden

5. Porcelain Heart

6. Hessian Peel

7. Hex Omega

All the songs have been written by M. Åkerfeldt apart from "Porcelain Heart" which was co-written with Fredrik Åkesson. One additonal track, "Derelict Herds" has also been recorded and this was written by Mikael Åkerfeldt and Per Wiberg. On top of this, 3 cover songs has been recorded. "Bridge of sighs" from Robin Trower´s 1974 Lp with the same title, "Den ständiga resan" (sung in Swedish) by Marie Fredriksson as well as the classic Alice in Chains song, "Would?".

The album was recorded at Fascination street studios during November 1 and December 13. Some addtional recordings were done between January 3rd and 7th. Produced by Jens Bogren and Mikael Åkerfeldt and Opeth.

Says Mikael Åkerfeldt: "I´ve worked so hard with these songs for quite some time now, I´ve listened to 'em a zillion times. I don't hate them just yet! The album sounds great sonically and I think I can hear us evolving as the record plays on. It is taking us somewhere musically and I don't know where. It's very exciting to say the least! I can't remember having enjoyed a recording this much ever before."

The cover was (as usual) designed by Travis Smith in co-operation with Åkerfeldt. Release date is yet to be confirmed but Roadrunner worldwide will have it out sometime in the Springtime of this year.

Source.

Well I knew Opeth were going to record something new but I had no idea it would be this soon. Can't wait to hear it.

Still looking for the new Boris as well.

So I've come across this band Lawnmower Deth, and I've taken a real liking to them. I've got a split they di with a band called Metal Duck(who also rock), and their first album, Ooh Crikey! It's Lawnmower Deth!. They also do a pretty good cover of Kids In America.

So I had to plan to acquire like... 4 or 5 speed/thrash/power metal albums and I've essentially forgotten the ones I planned to acquire. I should start writing this sh*t down.

I know one was:

Attacker - Soul Taker

and maybe

Scanner - Terminal Earth

I figured this might be a good time to let you guys know that...

Iron Maiden, A Matter Of Life And DEath is seriously the most epic Iron Maiden album I've ever heard. It's just like, WOW.

I would certainly not say its the most epic but it has a sh*tload of epicness scattered throughout the album. (Mainly because almost all the songs are 5+ minutes, two of them being over 9 minutes) 'Longest Day' has one of the most epic intros ever. Still those songs on the album don't have sh*t on 'Alexander the Great' or 'Rime of the Ancient Mariner'.

Oh man, one more week left.

Oh dude, 'Rime Of The Ancient Mariner' is f*cking incredible. A 13-minute epic, straight up, haha.

Autopsy just might be my favorite death metal band ever. If you like them, check out Morgoth. German death metal along the same lines - thrashy and gnarly as f*ck.

Word. Autopsy slays. Severed Survival \m/

I found this new instrumental death metal band named Blotted Science. They have the guitarist from Spastic Ink and the bassist from Cannibal Corpse. This sh*t is so technical and metal, I suggest you all check them out at least. Link

Severed Survival or Acts and the Unspeakable are both winners.

Severed Survival is one of the best death metal albums I've ever heard. Love 'Charred Remains'.

I just ordered tickets for the Progressive Nation tour 30 minutes ago. The line up is pretty damn awesome I think.

Dream Theater (say what you want, I like them, it should be cool to see them in concert and its not one of those "an evening with" tours so they won't play for like 4 hours)

Opeth (Been waiting years to see them live and I'll finally be able to even though it will be odd with only Mikael and Martin Mendez left from the 'classic' line up I'll call it)

3 (Great band. Saw them open for Porcupine Tree and can't wait to see them again.)

Between the Buried and Me (Never really listened to this band, I'll probably look into them but won't expect much)

Also seeing Iron Maiden on Tuesday in Los Angeles. So f*cking stoked.

I'd really love to see how Anaal Nathrakh are live. Considering how chaotic they are on record, I wonder how much they would live upto their sound live.

I could actually manage to get to that show.

If I liked any of the bands on there.

There's alot of local death metal festivals around here, mostly local bands.

Against the grain, against the odds, against the world

Forever the underdogs

We are the bastard sons
We are the ones that refuse to grow cold
We are the thorn in your side
We are the thieves in the night
And we're coming to take what's ours

I noticed your member title is the same as a kickass Raven album.

Yes. There the only NWOBHM band that I like. Check out the albums All For One and Nothing Exceeds Like Excess!

And Nuclear Assault wise, check out their 3 classic albums, Game Over(the cd also includes the equally awesome Plague EP), Survive, and Handle With Care. All 3 of those are about the best thrash I've ever heard that ever came out of NYC.
