Got to see Killer Be Killed's FIRST EVER live show on Saturday.

 

 

Was very impressed by their work. Troy absolutely KILLED IT on vocals and Greg and Max's work was amazing too. I feel honoured to have even layed eyes on Max Cavalera, saw Greg and Troy with DEP and Mastodon last year and have Mastodon coming up again in March.

 

Might post some other pics from Soundwave soon too.

They're fantastic live. I caught them in support of Dark Funeral, which was a hilarious show mostly for the local Cleveland black metal band and Dark Funeral being complete jokes.

I also saw them with Primordial and Moonsorrow, which was an amazing show. Alan of Primordial and I shared a pint, talked about metal, and made fun of the Kentucky neonazis that were seig heiling during the show.

 

Self promotion news: Grey Host is recording demos to release digitally, and we're planning on putting out a limited run of cassettes with a few songs. Right now, we've got 5 finished songs we're planning on including on the demo, the shortest being ~12 minutes and the longest being 19. Oops.

Yeah, Enslaved are probably the best metal act I've seen live. Only Killing Joke topped them really.

I'd say them, Blind Guardian, Emperor, and High on Fire in no particular order have been the best performances I've seen...followed by Sunn and Boris.

Was lucky enough to catch Gwar on their 25th anniversary tour, best show I've ever been to. I was definitely the most amped up person there which is weird because usually I'm just standing in the back with my arms crossed. Got sprayed with the green sh*t to many times. Was the most covered person at the show. Glad I was able to see them while brockie was still alive.

I got to see Toxic Waltz, Angelus Apatrida and Dr. Living Dead last night. Dr. Living Dead were amazing, even though at first I thought they'd suck after a quick youtube preview before the concert, but they were harder than the rest! Would come to see those Skeletonheads again.

Went to see Earth last week, they were f*cking immense. Carlson is a true legend.

They did a varied set from across the years, no vocals.

 

They played a couple from the new album, There Is A Serpent Coming and From the Zodiacal Light, and some old stuff - Bees Made Honey..., Old Black, Ouroboros is Broken (with a never-before-heard into that Carlson has reintroduced) and one other track that I can't recall now. Absolutely stunning.

 

I love the new album, quite like the vocals, but it was great to hear them without - Earth will always be instrumental to me, and they played exactly as I wanted to hear. Stunning. Adrienne's drumming technique blew me away, it was like she was swimming or flying through the beats. Hard to describe, but she was playing the beats that weren't there, off the drums - playing nothing but still smashing the air like it were drums. Just amazing.

 

There's some videos of the UK tour up on Youtube apparently, should have the same full set as I saw.

Kamelot's new song is beautiful, Karevik is the best replacement for Roy Khan, although i feel the lyrics ares still lacking; Khan was a great composer.
