This place IS a circus. And seriously, asking that question anywhere would get the same response. This is a metal topic, and you're asking if anyone here has heard of one the biggest bands not only in metal but in music generally. It's a bit of a given really.

 

Not a fan of them myself, I see them as part of the great tradition of tedious stunt pulling in order to shock (the Pussy video springs to mind) and I can't help but feel all of that shock-rock gimmickery is there to cover up the lackluster music.

 

But that's just, like, my opinion, man.

Lol you can't be serious... US gets ALL the nice tours and festivals.....

 

Mayhem, KnotFest.... Warped Tour is also pretty nice but I don't dig much the "16 year old" girl bands like Sleeping with Sirens and that.

 

You will NEVER see this kind of tours and shows in Europe

Make sure to go see my buddies in Valley of the Sun, they rip pretty hard. And f*cking YOB!

 

And yeah, Europe has Wacken, Desertfest, Roadburn, and stuff. America has Maryland Death Fest and SXSW and that's about it for large fests with metal.

Not a huge fan of Yob but will check them live. Or at least I would, if they were playing the UK Desertfest. They haven't been announced...

 

In fact at this point, only Sleep, Orange Goblin and My Sleeping Karma are announced. No idea about MSK, but the other two were enough for me to lay my money down.

Nothing at the moment, but we're getting there. Still haven't even settled on a name yet. It's kind of a side project really, my other band is a little more established. I try to keep it separate from on here but PM me if you want a link.

 

A split might be an excellent idea.

I’ve been listening to metal for 25 years, and from what I can tell, the metal scene has remained frozen in 1995. In contrast to other genres, who are all about what’s fresh, new and interesting, metal just seems content to keep talking about the same f*cking bands year after year after year, and I just don’t get it.

Weird, I see Metal as being the only genre that isn't affected by fads and gimmicks, and has consistently innovated for the last 25 years, whereas other genres come and go overnight.

The new Ramesses is what the new Electric Wizard should sound like. I dig the music, but hate the production and vocals.

 

Also, one of my favorite thrash shows/experiences ever was Toxic Holocaust, Municipal Waste, and Skeletonwitch. I ended up getting into a fight with some nazis and then partying with the dudes from Municipal Waste (really just Ryan the guitarist) and Skeletonwitch.

Not heard the new Ramesses. Only albums I've got are Take The Curse and Misanthropic Alchemy.

Still haven't heard the new Electric Wizard aside from a couple of tracks. One of which was really good but the other of which seemed like a bit of a step back in composition. But then again I'm one of those weird people who thinks that Witchcult Today is better than Black Mass.

 

Got a couple of Kylesa albums recently. still not made my mind up on them properly buy the track "Spiral Shadow" is amazing.

I'm not even going to bother with the new Electric Wizard. It seems to me that, if the album has Liz on it, it's not worth the effort. Seeing as how Jus can't keep his fists off anyone that even looks at her, they seem, well, doomed, if you'll pardon the pun. I'm hoping the new album's title is an expression of intent.

 

They will never, ever top Come My Fanatics, which is just straight up legendary.
